Outstanding Criminal Defense Attorney

From the first phone call to the Judges decision we knew we had finally found a lawyer that will FIGHT for your rights. This is a no nonsense guy who works hard for YOU giving of his time, expertise and experience. Shall I say SHARK! There is blood in the water! THIS MAN KNOWS THE LAW and will put ...forth his sharp knowledge for your legal rights. My husbands case was going nowhere (unfortunately we didn't find Mike Haber first) and my husband was caught up in a legal maze. As a government employee he was put on a "no-pay" status. Fortunately I was able to keep the bills and mortgage paid exhausting all savings and dipping into retirement. A colleague referred my husband to Michael A. Haber. After our first meeting we knew that JUSTICE would FINALLY PREVAIL! In our case he worked with fellow Attorney Marc Morris. The two were brilliant in their defense in my husbands case. They GOT DONE in half the time and half the fee what the other firm couldn't or wouldn't do. If you want a fair, brilliant, seasoned, get it done Lawyer? Michael A. Haber is who you hire. We are so grateful we took his advise and counsel. My husband has been exonerated. We can not THANK him enough.

Thank you Linda. Your husband's case was completely bumbled and, dare I say, incompetently handled, by his prior lawyer. It's tragic... almost as tragic as the p*ss poor police performance which resulted in his unlawful arrest. Fortunately, a relatively quick view of the locus in quo (sorry... "the crime scene") + a walk-through demonstration + a top-tier private investigator (who generated a digital recreation) + a comprehensive understanding of Florida's "Stand Your Ground" / self-defense law led to a rapid evidentiary hearing and a favorable ruling dismissing the case. But... you and your husband's continued belief, cooperation and understanding were clutch. In this case I engineered a "flank approach" to the case, and you helped by funding, organizing and seeing to fruition my vision. In the end we all did our jobs, and justice was served. Criminal defense lawyering is a team effort. I have a top-tier and irreplaceable partner and an extremely reliable and talented investigator, but both are worth a fraction of their weight without a client (and his wife) who serve as the glue that keeps it all together. So I thank you for your kind words, I thank you for your unwavering commitment to helping me to help your family precisely as I outlined it (even when you didn't understand the why of it or necessarily want to do as I asked) and, most importantly, I thank you for being you. Through this ordeal (a 3 month power-through session) we spent a great deal of time with one another. As proud as I am of the job that the we accomplished together I am even prouder to call you and your husband my friends. Earnestly and Humbly, MAH/Esq

Dear Anonymous, Without knowing what you asked I have no idea who you are but I thank you for your unsolicited review. One downside to being an AVVO participating lawyer is that it is oftentimes a thankless job (well, at least this is true for lawyer's like me, who choose to offer complete answers without blowing sunshine up people's pant legs and instead telling them the truth about their situation and offering practical advise), and this holds especially true here on AVVO, where I have taken the time to answer more than 13,000 questions and to field hundreds and hundreds (if not thousands) of follow-up emails and phone calls. Many folks press the "helpful" button (I thank each of them for doing so) some folks hit the "Best Answer" button (and I thank them as well), but precious few, like you, actually go the distance and write a few words for the public to read (and for folks like you I am both humbled and especially grateful). Again, I do not know who you are, what you asked or just how far I went in providing you an answer, but I have to assume that it was meaningful. So, I am delighted that I was able to help, I am proud to have earned your review and, perhaps most importantly, other's will benefit from your praise (because this is what recharges my batteries to continue to dedicate my time, effort and energy on AVVO). Wishing you and yours the best. Fondly, MAH/Esq

Arguably the best criminal law attorney in Miami

I was charged with two felonies of grand theft and uttering a forged instrument in Dade County and interviewed several attorneys to take my case. Despite the unbelievable levels of stress and paranoia that the prospect of encarceration can bring, I was determined to carefully evaluate every attorney ...I met with and review their assesments of my case. From the very first time I called Michael, even before I had engaged his services, he gave me plenty of information and was the only one who, from the get go, pointed out the immigration implications of my criminal charges. Before becoming a client he even asked for the police report to confirm his assesment of my case and the possible scenarios I was facing. I have yet to meet an attorney who would be as objective and proactive as Michael was even before hiring his services. He himself suggested for me to talk to a few other attorneys before I made a final decision on representation. Needless to say I did and after three other meetings with different attorneys ranging from the dozen of thousands of dollars to more modest fees, I decided to hire Michael as he was the most knowleadgeable, confident and more importantly the most straightforward of them all. As a client, I kept reaching out to him for every step we were taking with my case and for every new piece of information I was compulsively googling about my case. His responses were always based on facts, statistics, his vast experience in Miami and in the context of my particular case. Michael had one of my felonies dismissed the same week I was charged. The second one dismissed after he negotiated my way into Pre-trial diversion. I was already convinced that I had hired a top attorney then but when I had my hearing, with Michael by my side the judge said verbatum in front of everyone at court "so you're the famous Michael Haber, when my prosecutors see your name they start shaking". I couldn't make this up, there were at least 30 people in that court room who witnessed a judge say that about the attorney representing me. After that everything was smooth sail. I did what I had to do and didn't do what I wasn't supposed to do, per Michael's instructions. I completed PTI and I'm about to retain Michael for expungement of my record. I compulsively research everything and everyone and Michael was very patient with me with my repetitive questions and realistic with the strategy of my case. I thank him for being firm and objective when my nervousness and paranoia were getting the best of me and for the top notch representation he provided me all the way.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for the awesome and detailed review. I have found that there are 2 types of criminal defense lawyers: There are those who blindly quote fees and then there are lawyers like myself, who take the time to fully (as fully as possible anyhow) A) understand the facts and circumstances of the case - both as alleged by the government and by the client, B) envision the various paths that are available to the client, C) come to understand the client's personal needs and position, D) educate the client so that a realistic objective - in light of both the government's case and the client's situation - can be targeted, E) formulate a plan to achieve the litigation objective and F) only then quote a legal fee which has been fairly tailored to the work to be performed in light of the client's chosen path. In 25+ years of criminal defense practice I have found that the key to a successful attorney-client relationship (actually I suppose that it is key to all meaningful relationships) is open and honest communication, and, as such, discourse is necessarily a 2-way street. So, not only do I keep my client fully informed, but I also listen to what my client has to say (for A) I do not presume to know everything, B) I recognize that the client looks at things through a different prism than I and C) no one is more vested in the outcome of the case than the client). I go into every case telling potential clients (just as I did with you) that the reviews they read online were all - each and every one - earned, that my end game is to earn their review at the conclusion of their case and that the decision-maker - the Judge of my legal services - is the client (meaning, if I do not deliver "as advertised" then you won't deliver a heartfelt and positive client review). So, in your case, it seems that the mission was accomplished. I am elated that you were happy enough with my services to merit such a rave review. So just as you thank me so too do I thank you, and I wish you and yours a happy, healthy and prosperous 2017. Fondly, MAH/Esq

Michael Haber is the Most Brilliant Criminal Defense Attorney in Miami

Michael Haber is the LAST PERSON THAT I THOUGHT I WOULD EVER HAVE TO HIRE... A "CRIMINAL" DEFENSE ATTORNEY for such a nice Jewish girl??!!! But, truth be told.... This little English teacher found herself arrested for petty theft in September of this year!!! YES, that's right... Even English teache...rs aren't perfect. I was accused of concealing approximately $40 of random merchandise in my purse at Publix. At the time, I was recovering from a serious surgery and it required me to take medication that I was NOT used to taking. The result of these factors put me in a position to accept Michael's legal advice! I was charged with a misdemeanor and terrified that my teaching certification and Broward County Fingerprints would be in jeopardy of becoming tainted. But, Michael was able to refer me to his partner, Mr. Marc Morris, in Broward County! Marc was MARVELOUS! Together Marc and Michael advised me to enter a pre-trial diversion program so that all charges would be dropped by the state after I complete the program. I anticipate that the conditions will be met by March of 2017! Thank you very much Michael Haber for your legal advice and guidance! Trust me... I KNOW that I did the right thing by following your advice. You are unique and ONE in a MILLION.... I trust you with my LIFE and so should others! I wish you all the BEST... Thank you again for your legal support and guidance during a very difficult and embarrassing chapter of my life... Yours truly, Jodi

Thank you Jodi, for a most impassioned, and unexpected, review. I was happy to take the time to speak with you, to explain, in detail, both your situation and the various options and then, once you decided to enter (and to successfully complete) a diversion program, to recommend - strictly based upon geography and cost efficiency - that my partner be the one to assist you in navigating your successful registration. I wholeheartedly agree that you "did the right thing by following [my] advice", but what happens henceforth is entirely upon you, so I encourage you to remember, and to abide by, the 2 golden rules: 1) Do what you are supposed to do, when and how it is supposed to be done; and 2) Do not do anything that you are not supposed to do. If you abide by those maxims then, come March you will be home free (meaning that your case will be dismissed, we can begin the expungement process and your State issued license will not be jeopardized; conversely...). As for me being "unique and ONE in a MILLION.... I trust you with my LIFE and so should others! I wish you all the BEST", please insert "blushing emoji" here. :-) Seriously, thank you. I take great pride in A) making each client feel "special" (because they all deserve "special" treatment) and B) in offering all the time and attention that is required to fully inform the client as to all aspects of her/his legal situation, both initially and all throughout the course of the case. One person's $40 petit theft is another person's homicide. Any arrest / allegation of criminality is treated "heart attack serious" in my office. Fortunately, in your case, I believe that you will make a complete recovery. :-) Thank you again. Please enjoy a happy and a healthy New Year and, if you follow Rules #1 and 2 then by June or July this matter will be expunged.

Extremely helpful

The gentlemen and attorney Mr. Haber gave me some free and helpful advice, and even went so far as to do some leg work for me by providing me useful contacts to the resources I needed. Extremely personable, very available. I have decided to hire him when i'm ready to proceed with some issues. Mr. Hab...er, thank you for the helpful messages.

You are most welcome and thank you very much for your kind, unsolicited and most unexpected review Mr. Dixon. There is a small percentage of folks that I represent (and therefore to whom I have dedicated significant time, effort and energy) who do not take the time to write a review, and you may or may not be surprised at the volume of AVVO "Askers" who not only fail to even simply say "thanks" but who are flagrantly ungrateful, outright rude and sometimes even threatening (usually because they do like reading the truth); so when someone like you - who's question I initially answered, who's follow-up comments I replied to and who's subsequent e-mails I also responded to - acknowledges my effort - which I consider to have been minor sacrifice on my end (and especially not just with a simple "thanks" in a comment, which would have been more than sufficient, but with such a heartfelt actual review), well, please believe that it serves to both energize and encourage me to go the extra mile for others. So thank you again for your kind words and for your kind time and effort in thinking, typing and posting the same. Please know that I'll be happy to help you when the time comes and kindly accept my best wishes to you and to yours for this holiday season.
