Dear Stanford, Thank you for your kind words in the form of #HaberPA's 258th 5-Star Client Review. Noting that when clients ID themselves I generally don't get into facts & circumstances, here I point out that you only used a 1st name (or is it a 1st name?), AVVO allows you to use any name in your review thus there's no way for anyone to know whether that's your real or an assumed name (although I know the truth of the matter), in any event no one can ascertain who you are, what your case number was or otherwise establish your ID & as such I'm comfortable in sharing something about our experience with the folks. You're legally in the US although not a US citizen & you were referred to me by your immigration lawyer (the importance of that will follow). You own a State licensed "smoke shop" which sells legal hemp, CBD & Delta-9 products. Several weeks ago Police executed a Search Warrant on your store, impounded a significant portion of your inventory, arrested 2 of your employees for Sale of Controlled of Substances (the warrant and arrests were allegedly based upon a series of "controlled buys" of Psilocybin, MDMA and illegal THC, reportedly by your employees, not by you) and several days later The PoPo returned to make a Probable Cause Arrest of you on multiple Felony Narcotics Charges. I reviewed your Probable Cause Affidavit (as well as those of both of your employees who'd been arrested a few days before you), we engaged in a detailed conversation over the telephone wherein we discussed the facts & circumstances, identified the possible pathways forward, selected the 1 which best suited your purpose & you retained me to serve as your lawyer. Within 48 hours we met at your shop, you showed me your various professional licenses & explained the nature of your business to me, physically walking me though your purchasing, inventory, presentation & sale processes. As your employees had been arrested prior to you, you had separate Judges & Court dates (yours being later than that of your employees) & your employees had their own legal counsel; still, as their cases either actually or potentially effected yours I monitored all 3 dockets. During the course of your case (which took just about 30 days) I kept you thoroughly informed about both your & your employees cases & I was available to you whenever you emailed, texted or called, either fielding your concerns in real time or with a short window thereafter but in any event never leaving you hanging (which you have thoroughly validated - "answering my calls everytime when I need you" & "thoroughly understand my situation, explained all legal options clearly and fought tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome"). Apart from fielding your questions & concerns in real time I kept you fully advised along the way & we each went about our lives (me in serving your legal interests & you living your life without worry while I did my job). While we didn't get / have to litigate your case (all charges in your case and those of your employees were "No Actioned" / Dismissed by the State at Arraignment as lab analysis conclusively established that whatever it was that controlled buyers - it's unknown whether the alleged purchasers were Undercover Cops or Confidential Informants / Confidential Sources - thought / claimed to have bought from your employees it was neither Psilocybin, MDMA, illegal THC nor any other controlled substance) I provided exceptional services for a most reasonable fee, especially as I unilaterally chose to waive the balance of your fee upon dismissal (we had agreed to a periodic payment schedule), thus wiping your balance to $0.00 & saving you a good amount of money. Getting back to the immigration aspect, the felony drug charges risked your legal status in the US & so "beating" this case was essential. We won & so you won & with your kind review I won as well. Return of 36 firearms after police raided home

The police came to my house, arrested me and they confiscated all 36 of my guns. The case was such complete BS that even with a Public Defender it got dropped, but the police wouldn't return my firearms. I found Mike Haber on Google after I watched his video on getting guns back from the police and... then I called him. We spoke that same day and Mike assured me that if what I told him was true then he'd get me all of my guns back, and quickly. Of course it was all true, as was Mike's word because less than 3 weeks later Mike handed me a Court Order directing the police department to return all of my guns (and the cases, boxes, magazines, sights... everything but the ammo, which Mike told me to forfeit). I know that some people can't wrap their brain around why anyone has so many guns but, honestly, I don't care what they think. What I do care about is that Mike Haber didn't ask me, he didn't judge me and he didn't BS me. What he did for me was precisely what he said he would do, and quickly, just as he promised. If all lawyers were like Mike Haber then they'd have a better reputation. Thank you Mike!

Second, while I am grateful for your props as to my work ethic and work product I want to give a shout out to my PD colleagues who, despite being underpaid, underappreciated and over worked, are almost universally excellent lawyers, dedicated to their careers and clients even if they oftentimes drown under the weight of their caseloads. Finally, I want to highlight your comment that "he didn't judge me and he didn't BS me", as those are two things in which I also take great pride. It is not my job to judge my clients; however, depending upon the case it is my job to assess credibility, be it of persons or items evidence, and then to give my client honest advise based upon my experience. That said, given the nature of your case (a post-disposition return of property which had neither an evidentiary nor a forfeiture hold, to a person who has not been legally "disqualified" by any criteria) there was no basis for me to assess anything; rather, in this instance my job was to gather the necessary facts and documents so as to be able to prepare a legally sufficient motion, electronically file it, serve it on all relevant parties, calendar it for hearing (with sufficient time for all other parties to respond and appear) and then litigate the heck out of it... which we did, successfully. Dear Ashley, Thank you so very much for your kind words and for authoring #HaberPA's 208th Client Review on AVVO! Being easily accessible (by phone, email or on the internet) and always engaging in open, honest, direct and frequent communication with the client are some of the key hallmarks which makes #HaberPA a "boutique" criminal defense law firm and which we absolutely cherish, and so your praise in this regard is most gratifying. But we also treasure our initial and heartfelt desire to come to understand the Client and her/his situation, to adopt the Client's interests as our own, to identify and secure realistic litigation objectives and to quote and honor reasonable fees (in writing), which we also accomplished in your case. As no one knows who you are and so as to add some context so that the folks understand the "what" of your case, you were charged with Grand Theft of $29,353.64 in the form of accepting a variety of overpayments from FL-DCF. You were cash strapped and apart from a financial inability to repay that sum you also disagreed with the dollar amount claimed by the State. Understanding your inability to defend yourself against an opponent with unlimited resources (e.g. you could not afford to hire a forensic accountant, much less to finance a trial) and your stated desire to negotiate a quick plea which did not involve jail, we committed ourselves to work together at vetting the 1,000 or so pages of discovery that the State provided in an effort to chisel the amount down as much as possible and secure - at worst - a term of probation with a withhold of adjudication (no conviction). But, as it turned out, our "rapid investigation" turned into an almost year long email and telephone battle with DCF which resulted in an admission by the State that you had been over-billed by $20,900.92 and that your actual debt was $8,452.72. During this year you were able to ferret away a few bucks and I was able to convince the State to permit you to prepay $3,500.00, thus dropping your debt to $4,952.72, an amount which was under the $5,000.00 threshold for diversion. You are now enrolled in diversion with the only ("only") conditions being repayment of the $4,952.72 in no less than 6 months time (i.e. once the $4,952.72 is repayed then the State will dismiss the case and you can expunge it from your record, although this cannot be done is less than 6 months time), with no community service hours, no classes, no other strings attached. Even though it took both more time and effort than we agreed I did not hesitate in honoring the original fee that was quoted, and in your instance (i.e. knowing something about you, your family and your situation) I am especially happy to have been able to go the extra miles. I am thrilled for you in terms of your case status, I am most gratified by your sharing such kind words with the folks and I look forward to expunging your case sometime in the next 6-12 months. Apart from being proud of the job which we managed to accomplish in your situation (yes, "we", as effective criminal defense is a team sport which requires synchronized performances by both the client and counsel) I am most proud to 1) have been hired by you coming directly out of a thoroughly lousy experience with your abysmal prior legal counsel (that took a leap of faith by you and for that I am grateful, but I am even more honored and pleased that) 2) you both recognized and shared with the folks your experience with my professionalism, knowledge, skill, availability and performance. These are the traits which makes #HaberPA a "boutique" law firm and of which we are most proud. I won't go into any detail about your case (cases actually, you had 2 of them, simultaneously, in different courtrooms and before different Judges) but I will say that your prior lawyers are precisely the sort of attorneys who give all lawyers a bad name (kinda like the rouge "bad cop" who generates disdain for the group). It is not a stretch to say that you were effectively conned and deceived into a false sense of security by modern day snake oil salesman who quickly took your money but then failed to provide any competent service, and that is inexcusable.
