This is why I refer to #HaberPA / Michael A. Arrested for something stupid, found the right Lawyer
I was visiting Miami Beach when I got arrested for driving with a suspended license. I honestly didn’t know that my license was suspended. The rental car company didn’t even tell me. And the police were so rude and wouldn’t listen. They just took me to jail. I was handcuffed and put in a cell an...
Dear Tori, Thank you for your kind review. I'd like to highlight one thing - that you are an out-of-State resident who was arrested while visiting FL (which is an unfortunate yet also a common occurrence) . Two years ago (in 2016), when #HaberPA's YouTube VideoFAQ had just began, I published # 22, "Came on Vacation Left on Probation" (please see: https://youtu.be/pL3ox5W547I ) and less than a month ago (in February, 2018) I published # 223, "If I get Arrested in FL but I live out of State do I still have to come to Court?" (please see: https://youtu.be/otoc5JtPC9c ). Both videos are relevant but your case falls squarer into the latter (i.e. no probation, no court appearance, no problem). As an aside, while DWLS is an arrestable offense, in my experience most of the time law enforcement will let you go with a PTA / NTA (promise / notice to appear) and will not physically book you into the jail. Unfortunately you met the wrong police officer at the wrong time. Miami (and it's surrounding area) is truly a "Magic City", even if we do have a few crummy cops. Still, I'm happy that you're happy and I hope that you'll come back to visit us again. Take care, MAH/Esq.

My son's legal battle was over once Michael got involved
My son was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, a serious felony, and I had no idea who to hire to represent him. There are so many criminal lawyers on the internet but after seeing all of the positive reviews on AVVO for Michael Haber we looked at his website an...
Dear Lester, There is nothing quite like hearing a Clerk read "not guilty" off of a verdict form, but beating a case on a pre-trial motion... well that is why I became a criminal defense lawyer. In your son's case we called out the cops and we came out on top. While I'm grateful for your heartfelt recommendation I am going to take a moment to basque in your praise of my YouTube channel ("MichaelHaberLaw"). As thankful as you are to have found me (and as proud of my 152 prior AVVO client reviews as I am), knowing that some of my VideoFAQs were influential in steering you to me is an enormous source of pride, and for that I offer you my ardent gratitude. My first VideoFAQ went online in June, 2015, now, less than 3 years later, I have 258 of them and I will continue to script, shoot, produce and publish more. I can't say that another lawyer would not have been able to present the facts and the law in your son's case just as I did (after all, I did not make either up... the facts and the law of the case were what they were regardless of my involvement), but I can say that I'm both proud and delighted to have been the one to have done so. Wishing you and your family all the best, and thanking you again for being my 153rd AVVO client review. Fondly, MAH/Esq.

Great man!
People usually get stressed and confused very easily. Between the costs of defense and dragging out cases for their own personal wealth and the lingo no-one but officers of the court understand puts a bad taste in people's mouths when the hear the word attorney. Especially when you stress the cost ...
Dear Joseph, First, please accept my most heartfelt "you're welcome" and "thank you". Over the course of 4 or so years I have answered some 19,000 questions on AVVO. I don't know if that sounds like a lot, or not, but I assure you (and everyone else) that this has taken a significant deal of time, effort and energy. I answer questions throughout the day, on weekends and while on vacation. I also necessarily field follow-up to AVVO questions in the form of relentless telephone calls and emails (98% of the time from people who's problem is no where near my practice area and with whom I will never work). In the end I usually hear nothing further from the Asker (nor do I ever expect to) but I also receive plenty of "nasty-grams" (from, people who either did not like what I had to say or how I chose to say it, and also from people who feel that they are entitled to more than my free of charge internet answer). And then there is the extraordinary and rare Asker like you, who makes all of the time and effort (and berating) worthwhile. Your words are humbling, I am grateful and, most importantly, I am recharged to get back to offering assistance to the appreciative and the unappreciative alike. Wishing you all of the best and thanking you again. Fondly, MAH/Esq

Best possible outcome
Never in my worst nightmares would I consider that I would need criminal representation. I was lost in a system I was unfamiliar with. I interviewed multiple attorneys and based on only a hunch picked one with real showmanship flair. That was a huge mistake and costly one at that. It became very clea...
Dear Nick, What can I say other than thank you. Your words are heartfelt, sentimental and more meaningful than I can express. So that the folks who are reading this understand, you spent a small fortune on a toothless tiger - a lawyer who took your case, your money and then tried to plead your case out (over a 10 month period while you sat, suspended from work, without pay and while your wife worked double shifts to compensate for your loss of income). You came to me by way of a personal referral on a complete fluke and we quickly determined that you had been wrongfully - and unlawfully - arrested by cops who had manufactured a bogus case against you to cover their own a**es (and for no reason more than that you had the temerity to both - literally - stand your ground and then verbally call them out on their lack of professionalism, training and respect). You were in the right in the moment, and when the State Attorney doubled-down on the officer's BS story, well the Judge formally ruled that you were in the right in the end too, granting you statutory immunity from prosecution and literally booting the case out of her courtroom. Me, I just did my job. I identified the problem, came up with a plan to remedy it and then did so with extreme prejudice (and inside of 3 months). You had the harder job of keeping your cool, coming to truly believe that while you were the Defendant on paper in reality you were the victim (first of unwarranted police aggression and then of a snake-oil salesman in a suit who effectively robbed and falsely imprisoned you), taking the witness stand with complete confidence in your victim-status, offering testimony in your own defense and doing all this knowing that if your lawyer got it wrong then you could be going to prison. It's a very difficult thing to do... to face the police and the prosecution, to put your freedom, your liberty, your very life in another's hands, and while I appreciate your praise and thanks, in this light it is I who should be thanking you. You took several leaps of faith, first in calling me, then in firing your obtuse lawyer "with real showmanship flair" so as to bring me on board and finally in trusting me to get you immunity from prosecution - and for all of that and more I thank you. After the war that we went through together you and your wife (and Bailey - your Labrador Retriever) are family. I just want to add that as much as I want to take credit it must be spread as my partner and my investigator were, as they always are, absolutely invaluable. I wouldn't accomplish 1/2 of what I do with out them (especially my partner). And a special shout out to you wife who was a rock for all of us (most especial you). I'm looking forward to seeing the three of you over the holidays. All the best, Mike

Michael A. Harber defended me on a Charge on 4/28/17 this past year. From the moment I called Michael in tears . He spoke with me for almost 3 hours on the next steps we both needed to take to tackle this charge. He was so on top of me with getting things done and making sure to keep me very updates ...
Dear Anonymous, Some clients need a little more hand holding than others, and I'm usually willing to put in the extra effort. A collateral consequence to my doing so is that my ancillary dedication usually forges a closer bond than that which would naturally occur in the average attorney-client relationship. And so it was in your case. Still, I find it kind of ironic that I am " so on top of" the client "with getting things done and making sure to keep me very updates minute by minute", yet I apply no pressure whatsoever to compel a client review at the conclusion of the case (ergo some 4 months having passed since your case concluded and your client review was submitted)... but there is a reason. Each of my client reviews are 100% genuine, are authored in the client's own words and are submitted because the client chose to do so (and naturally also because I have "earned" it). That said, now knowing the date you are not Anonymous to me, and I ask that you please accept my gratitude for your "better late then never" review. Wishing you and yours all the best, especially during the holiday season. Fondly, MAH/Esq
"I endorse this lawyer. I first met Mike about 20 years ago when I was a Special Prosecutor in the Narcotics Unit at the Miami Dade State Attorney's Office. He was and still is a hard working and knowledgable attorney, who fought for his client then and still does today. He has always been honest, fair and ethical. He is always fighting to achieve the best possible results for his clients. When I left the Miami Dade State Attorney's Office to start my private practice, I maintained my relationship with him and he and I would consult each other on some of our individual cases. He is a wealth of information and our friendship has grown over the years. Currently we co-host a podcast on Mondays at 2p.m. on Miami's Community Newspapers on Facebook Live titled "At Your Service with Haber and Martinez.""
"I endorse this lawyer. Attorney Haber in my opinion is an attorney that is truly for the people. I have followed him for a few years now, and remain inestimably impressed with both the amount of knowledge he has in criminal law and also the amount of knowledge he gives to anyone in need of legal guidance. Attorney Haber has a way of breaking down complex legal concepts into very understandable pieces that can be easily digested by someone not so familiar with legal phrases and wording. To have the career he has and the number of years he has dedicated to this craft and still be willing to help out the community at large at a second's notice is what I feel makes him a continual asset and resource to both the legal community and the state of Florida."
"I endorse Mike Haber. He is a knowledgeable, zealous attorney with decades of experience helping his clients. His answers on this platform showcase his wealth and breadth of legal knowledge, as well as his direct and sound advice. Although we practice in different areas of the state, I have spoken to Mike at length about his practice. After having done so, I am confident that Mike is a lawyer you want on your side in the courtroom. When hiring a lawyer, be sure that lawyer has the experience, knowledge, and skills necessary to effectively defend your case. If you are worried about a crime, know that Mike is one of those lawyers."
"I strongly endorse this lawyer. Mr. Haber is a brilliant legal mind and respected by his peers. I have had the pleasure of co-answering many legal questions on the Avvo platform and Mr. Haber always has an insightful answer to share. I would not hesitate to count on Mr. Haber!"
"I have consistently seen Michael providing detailed and thoughtful responses to the many questions that pop-up in the Q&A section on Avvo. I have no doubt that he provides his clients with the same great legal advice."
"Simply put, Attorney Haber knows criminal defense. He is familiar with criminal statutes, the case law and criminal procedure. But what sets Attorney Haber apart is his mastery of strategy. Make no mistake, you are in excellent hands with Attorney Haber defending you. I fully recommend him."
"It has been my pleasure to work with Mr. Haber in the Avvo forums answering legal questions. Mr. Haber always has a grasp for the client's needs and his vast knowledge and experience lend to his ability to offer sound legal advice. After reviewing his astute legal guides, I was even further impressed. It is my pleasure to endorse this lawyer."
"A shark. I'd recommend Mr Haber to my family if they needed criminal defense, without a doubt. Highly experienced and well recommended."
"Mr. Haber is a skilled and experienced lawyer whose legal expertise is displayed through every answer he has written on Avvo and through the awards he has earned for his legal work. The reviews he has received reveal his dedication to applying his talents to the betterment of the lives of his clients. He is an asset to our profession, and it is my pleasure to endorse him. If either myself or any family member were arrested, the first call I would make would be to Michael."
"Attorney Haber and I met when I noticed that there was one attorney on Avvo that always answered the criminal law questions that come out first. I have reviewed hundreds of analyses by attorney Haber from injunctions to bond issues, and everything in-between. There is no attorney with a better conceptual understanding of the law and promptness in its truest form."
"I endorse this lawyer. Attorney Haber possesses the knowledge, expertise and dedication to help his client's navigate through the criminal justice system."
"Mr. Haber is an incredibly skilled criminal defense attorney. I am constantly amazed at the depth and breadth of his criminal defense knowledge. One needs to look no further than his Avvo guides and YouTube info videos to see that Mr. Haber is able to boil complex legal issues into terms that non-attorneys can understand. This rare and important skill allows Mr. Haber to more effectively communicate with juries to deliver favorable results for his clients. If I, or someone I cared about, was ever in trouble in the Dade County area, I would not hesitate to seek out Mr. Haber for representation."
"I endorse this lawyer. He is extremely knowledgeable about all areas of criminal defense. When other attorneys do not know how to resolve an issue, Mr. Haber always does . His clients love his aggressive demeanor that surely puts the Assistant State Attorneys he works with at a disadvantage. This area of law is constantly changing and you can bet Mr. Haber keeps up with all of the changes. I can't think of another lawyer I would recommend for criminal defense in Florida."
"I endorse this lawyer. Attorney Haber has shown consistent mastery of criminal defense topics and is an asset to the community."
"Mr. Haber is always willing to provide advice to both lawyer and clients alike. His answers are straightforward and pragmatic. Since I don't practice in the Miami area, Michael is an attorney that I would refer clients to without hesitation. I strongly endorse him."
"I endorse this lawyer. Extremely knowledgeable and generous with his free advice to the community. I look forward to reading his responses to community questions. Never disappointed."
