I truly had lost faith , w/ laws for tenants , really felt lost w no hope ! Felt I had no choice but to let a landlord abuse the system and take advantage of my son and I , as she sits at her Missouri neon company she owns , and let her try to kick us out so she could have a young man move back int...o a place he previously rented from her , , ( my elderly neighbors (one being a retired police ), had informed me of animals he left deserted 2 dogs and many cats , that thy in turn had to find homes for , this young boy came to our house 2 weeks after moving in threatening me not to mention the 25 total people she continued to have Harrass us over the period we were there all being young bare chested boys except one old man that didn't even have her name right , that I had to call police on 9 times , he even verbally attacked me at a store , then would hide from police , one of her tenants had said she had been trying to have relations w him since he was 14 (as she was prior a teacher . Mr CHASE took time out for me every time I had a concern and sent me to another attorney that he knew would be best , and BLESS THESE ATTORNEYS , basically made things right truly at NO COST!!!!! Again I cannot express what amazing knowledge and care these blessed attorneys bestowed upon us at such a desperate time ! It's time for Missouri to stop being a landlord city or state , they have taken our homes , pride , money. and try to take dignity , as well as advantage of lower income families that need good upbringing for our future children that will one day be taking care of us and our country ! My tenant had not being paying her rent on time and then she lost her job in October, 2014. I should have gotten a lawyer then, but I tried to manage it myself. The tenant finally got a job again in January, 2015. She became current with the rent, but was not paying down the arrears I was also g...etting complaints from the neighbors about noise. I filed for an eviction and went to the court hearing expecting my tenant not to show. My tenant did not show up, but her attorney did. I was out of my depth. I didn't want to go before the judge against her attorney so I delayed the trial date another 4 weeks or so. When I got home I asked a friend for a Landlord & Tenant lawyer. I made an appointment with the lawyer, and much to dismay she was going to be out of town on my court date. Her solution was to text Mr. Matthew Chase who she had met in court where he represented a Land-lord and she had represented a tenant. She had been impressed with Mr. Chase and thought he would be a good fit for my problem. And right she was. I texted Mr. Chase and we met a couple of days later at his home office. There and then he filed for a hearing and forwarded all the pertinent materials to my tenant's lawyer. He convinced my tenant's lawyer to agree to have the tenant leave the premises on June 30 and agree to pay court costs, arrears rent and late fees. He also added an additional penalty to the agreement, in case the tenant was not out by June 30, which she was not. Mr. Chase was available 24/7 for questions. I texted him on July 1st when the tenant had not vacated the premise on June 30. He replied within the hour even though he was in Canada and celebrating Canada Day with his in-laws. Mr. Chase was exactly what I needed in an attorney and I will use him the next time I have the need to evict a tenant.
