Excellent

I left Mr. Chase a message concerning a past landlord who sold my debt to an aggressive and unethical debt collector and he called back so quickly my head was spinning. He was so helpful and absolutely great to talk to. His experience and demeanor was very uplifting and his knowledge is so vast that ...he settled my worried heart in moments. His consultation helped me get with one of his highly recommended colleagues who was also very amazing. I highly recommend this lawyer. He is fabulous and I will always think recommend him to anyone who asks me for the name of a good lawyer. 5 stars is not enough. He was is off the charts amazing! Call him and you will not be sorry and you will be in the right hands.

This is such a great review, thank you very much! Glad to help, and sorry you have to deal with that terrible collection agency and their frivolous lawsuit! Glad to be able to send you to someone who specializes in these FDCPA claims and will hopefully be able to get a great result for you. (This is a copy and paste from my comment to the review immediately below, because the same attorney, representing the same awful debt collector, sued both of you in almost identically frivolous suits, just days apart. Sorry you have to deal with this, and hopefully my colleague will get it sorted for you.)

Eviction of a dead-beat tenant

My tenant had not being paying her rent on time and then she lost her job in October, 2014. I should have gotten a lawyer then, but I tried to manage it myself. The tenant finally got a job again in January, 2015. She became current with the rent, but was not paying down the arrears I was also g...etting complaints from the neighbors about noise. I filed for an eviction and went to the court hearing expecting my tenant not to show. My tenant did not show up, but her attorney did. I was out of my depth. I didn't want to go before the judge against her attorney so I delayed the trial date another 4 weeks or so. When I got home I asked a friend for a Landlord & Tenant lawyer. I made an appointment with the lawyer, and much to dismay she was going to be out of town on my court date. Her solution was to text Mr. Matthew Chase who she had met in court where he represented a Land-lord and she had represented a tenant. She had been impressed with Mr. Chase and thought he would be a good fit for my problem. And right she was. I texted Mr. Chase and we met a couple of days later at his home office. There and then he filed for a hearing and forwarded all the pertinent materials to my tenant's lawyer. He convinced my tenant's lawyer to agree to have the tenant leave the premises on June 30 and agree to pay court costs, arrears rent and late fees. He also added an additional penalty to the agreement, in case the tenant was not out by June 30, which she was not. Mr. Chase was available 24/7 for questions. I texted him on July 1st when the tenant had not vacated the premise on June 30. He replied within the hour even though he was in Canada and celebrating Canada Day with his in-laws. Mr. Chase was exactly what I needed in an attorney and I will use him the next time I have the need to evict a tenant.

"I endorse this lawyer. While relatively new to avvo.com, I run across Mr. Chase's answers with some frequency, as we both practice in the same state and area (albeit 250 miles apart). It's rare for me to read one of his answers and not recognize my immediate agreement with it. His answers are direct, yet complete, and objective yet compassionate. If his client interactions are anything like his avvo.com answers, it's hard to imagine a client leaving unsatisfied or non-victorious."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
