Jim Sullivan is a trusted lawyer. He helped to change my life by believing in me at my lowest point in my life. My case was a drug case i had all my money taken and my truck seized and I was facing time and more. Jim helped me get into an amazing 2 week long rehab instead of 6 months of jail rehab. The rehab He got me into was the best experience and gave me the strength to keep me sober. He was able to get me everything I wanted with my case and more. I ended up getting 2 years probation instead of jail time which i was so happy about because i have a family to take care of. He gave me the stepping stones to rebuild my life and I am so grateful to him. If u need a lawyer that is personable, that cares, and will spend the time to talk to u on the phone and explain everything to u he is the lawyer for u. If you don't know who to trust u need to call him, he won't let u down!!! Trust me I thought my life was over, but with his help it was just the beginning to a new start in my life which has turned out to be a huge blessing. Everything happens for a reason and I believe choosing Jim as my lawyer was meant to be and he proved it in all of his hard compassionate work.

I am so glad that I met Attorney Jim Sullivan. He was very helpful and he calmed my nerves when I first met him.He spent over three hours talking to me and my father about ways to get my case resolved. He didn't have to go this late but he took his time and explained everything thoroughly to me and explained step-by-step what needed to be done. Miss Nancy Botts, another lawyer that works with Jim, was also amazing and talked to me and my family about my case. She went out of her way to come and meet me because I was not allowed to stay with my family during the case. So she met with me and went over everything that happened and also met with my family and also wrote down what happened and took evidence of everything that went on. I was very nervous because I was facing a 1st degree felony of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon family violence. And that could've meant five years to life in prison. Never in my wildest dreams did I every imagine I would be in such a situation but fortunately Jim and Nancy saw the good in me and wanted to help me out.Because of their exhaustive and meticulous work my case was no billed by the grand jury in Fort Bend County. I appreciate everything Jim and Nancy have done and I will recommend them to anybody who inquires about criminal defense attorneys. Because of them I have my freedom and I will be able to continue to pursue my life’s goal in grad school.

I was charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful carry of a firearm. Jim Sullivan persuaded the prosecution to give me pretrial diversion. Now both charges have been dismissed, with a 1 year waiting period to be expunged. Jim is an excellent lawyer that corrected my biggest mistake.

Congratulations on a job well done. I believe I was extremely fortunate to meet and then hire you to represent my son in this serious matter. We want to thank you for caring and to put all that timeans effort in his case. He could have been away from family until he turned 19. Instead with yr knowledge and expertise he got 6 months deferred prosecution at home and will then be able to get his record sealed. Thank Lorraine

May 2017 our son was arrested on our property and charged with deadly conduct after a group of kids tried to jump him after school. My husband immediately started searching for the Best Juvenile Defense Lawyers in Harris County. Well, we found the BEST when we hired Jim Sullivan. I called late in the evening after leaving the Juvenile Detention center and thought I would get an answering service but instead Jim answered the phone! He was very knowledgeable about Juvenile Law and took time to explain and also comfort me as we have never been in this situation before. After talking with Jim for an hour, we arranged to meet with him at his office. We knew from that very moment that he was God sent! He has a great story behind him as well! He genuinely care about his clients and their futures. With Jims hard work and dedication, Needless to say that Deadly Conduct charge didn't stick! The case was dismissed! We are forever grateful for Mr. Sullivan! We can't thank you enough for giving us our life back! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND JIM SULLIVAN

Our 17 year old son was falsely accused of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Our family is truly grateful for your kindness, expertise, hard work and dedication in working to get his case dismissed.
Our son has Asperger’s syndrome (autism spectrum disorder), ADHD and other learning disabilities. Although I have been divorced from my son’s biological father for 16 years, his father continued to be abusive towards my son when they were together. At the time of the accusation, my son had just turned 17, which meant that he would be charged as an adult and if convicted would have to register as a sex offender for life. This would have destroyed him, our family and those of our other children.
In July 2016, I learned that his biological father and his wife were accusing my son of a serious sex crime against their son. My son is a very honest child. He tells me everything. With his father, he was always scared of him so he would do whatever he said. His father and his stepmom both claimed that my son confessed to this alleged crime against his half-brother who also was autistic and has Prader-Willi syndrome. His half-brother had gotten in trouble at school for inappropriately touching a teacher and exposing himself to other children, but instead of figuring out the problem there, my son was accused of a serious sex crime.
In Feb 2017, I received a call from the police dept. I was told that my son had a warrant out for his arrest and to bring him to the county jail. That night I searched the internet and found our angel, Attorney Jim Sullivan. I didn't know that criminal lawyers had autistic specialties. I read the reviews. I instantly knew that he was it. God sent him to us.
That next day, my husband (his stepdad) and I brought our son in, paid bond, and took him to the county jail. That was a scary nightmare. I immediately called Jim Sullivan. I called, and I was shocked. He answered immediately. We literally spent hours on the phone. He was incredible. I felt as if I was talking to one of my family members. He answered all of my questions. This was one of the most terrifying times in our lives. We knew our son was innocent, but it didn't seem to matter to the other parties involved or the law. So many things went wrong in the process while booking him in. He was supposed to be in and out, but he was in jail for 19 hours. Being autistic, that was extremely scary and confusing.
Our son did not understand why his dad would say that he did something so awful and he didn't understand why when he's innocent that he was treated like he was. Jim Sullivan was there every second of the process. We met with him the next day. He was amazing. He truly understood Jade and listened to everything we had to say. He was so kind. His fees were reasonable and he truly, truly cared about our son and freeing him from this nightmare. I believe he put his whole heart into it as if my son was a part of his family. Jim is a unique man and lawyer. He was always there and always had a very quick, if not immediate response, when contacting him. We only had to go to one court one time.
Jim Sullivan and his associate Nancy Botts prepared a very thorough defense packet. In mid-April 2017, our case went to the grand jury. That afternoon we got a call from Jim saying his case was no billed (dismissed).
Those of you who are reading this, don't look any further. Jim Sullivan is THE one. It was one of these reviews that made me know that he was the one. Jim always knew that our son was innocent and although this was an extremely difficult case, Jim did it. He freed our son of this horrific crime, gave him his life back, and freed him of his father for good. I have dealt with other lawyers. There is no one out there like this man. Look no further. Call Jim Sullivan.

I Googled "Houston family violence lawyer" and Mr. Sullivan came up. I did my research and was very satisfied with his ratings and case results. I decided to call him and unlike other offices the lawyer is the one that answers! That's a first, and when I spoke to him the first time he made me feel like I could trust him. My husband is a habitual felon. This is his 2nd family violence case so he was looking at anywhere from 25 years to life in prison. However, Mr. Sullivan was able to get the case reduced down to a misdemeanor and my husband will only do a few days in the county! It went from an enhanced felony habitual case all the way down to a misdemeanor. Thank you Jim for everything you did for my husband. Everyone that asks me if I know a good lawyer I will give them your card.

My brother and I hired Jim Sullivan after reading his bio and his many positive client reviews online. My brother needed to be represented on a serious stalking charge in which he faced up to 10 years in prison. My brother has had a rough go in life, he has struggled with bipolar disorder all his life of 53 years. This illness led to multiple addictions starting with gambling then he turned to substance abuse. He finally thought he found true love and got married in 2004. Shortly thereafter they experienced problems. The marriage did not last long, but my brother continued to pursue her. His ex-wife had my brother arrested multiple times throughout the years. My brother wasn’t going to stop pursuing his ex-wife even after being warned by law enforcement which landed him with a warrant for his arrest.
My brother was in serious trouble until he met with Mr. Sullivan. We met with Mr. Sullivan on a Saturday afternoon and we were immediately impressed by his vast knowledge of the law and his keen understanding of the psychological problems from which my brother suffered. He spent several hours with us, giving my brother excellent counsel by sharing different stories he had experienced in life and in the courtroom. After years of trying to convince my brother to try medication, Mr. Sullivan was able to breakthrough all of my brother’s excuses and convince him to seek psychiatric treatment and counseling. With my brother’s lengthy history and problems, Mr. Sullivan made it clear to him that it would mean the difference between probation or prison. Furthermore, without medical help, his life would continue to be difficult with his cycling between the highs of mania and lows of depression. Mr. Sullivan told him that he was as concerned for the rest of his life as he was about the serious charge that got him arrested. Once my brother accepted his genuine and sincere advice, he began taking medication and attending counseling. This changed his life, you can say Mr. Sullivan saved my brother’s life literally.
In court the prosecutor would not agree to probation and only offered my brother prison time, so Mr. Sullivan advised my brother that he would have to ask for probation from the judge during a punishment hearing. Recently, my brother had that PSI hearing. His ex-wife testified against him and said she had been afraid of him since their divorce and also claimed that he would call her cell phone hundreds of times a day and leave harassing messages. Through his questioning of her, Mr. Sullivan was able to show that just a few years ago she frequently used my brother to drive her around the state for her job and even spent many nights with him in the same hotel room. As to the phone calls, Mr. Sullivan was able to show that she had created a Google voice account just for him to call and had a co-worker give him her new number. Wanting to hear her voice recording, he would call that number repeatedly and leave sweet messages. His ex-wife admitted that those calls were only saved online and were not sent to her cell phone.
My brother also testified and spoke about his lifelong problems with bipolar disorder, his past problems with substance abuse and of never being on medication. For the first time since his childhood, he said he felt normal, no more mood swings. He sincerely apologized for his actions. He said he had moved on and had not tried to contact his ex-wife for almost a year.
Mr. Sullivan was able to persuade the Judge to grant deferred probation and keep my brother out of prison and this allowed him to continue his progress. Mr. Sullivan eloquently persuaded the Judge that with treatment one can change their behavior and live a normal life. I could not have asked for a better attorney than Jim Sullivan. I highly recommend this attorney, he is very wise counsel and deeply cares about his clients.

I cannot thank Jim Sullivan as much as I want to for the huge help with my case in Harris County. I was falsely accused of theft at work, fired and charged with theft. I was looking and looking and got a recommendation for this great man from a friend. What started as a call became a face to face conversation. He understood what I was going through and listened to all the fine details of my case. He told me he would try his best to get things fixed. And as he said he would he was by my side every court date making sure I was getting good representation. I am one of the Dreamer kids who was brought here as a child and a plea to a theft charge would’ve resulted in my not ever becoming a U.S. citizen. As a result of his hard work in court date after court date, he got my cased solved and dismissed. I was so glad. I felt the weight lifted off my back. I cannot thank you enough for standing beside me, believing in me and your confidence. You are truly a great man and for that I wanted to thank you.
