James Gary Sullivan

Mr. Sullivan represented my adult son and I cannot be more thankful that I found him! He was able to work out a surprisingly good plea bargain for my son. My son is an addict and committed a series of drug store robberies over a 3 month period in order to get money for... drugs after losing his job. He would pass a note to a cashier, saying he had a gun (which he did not have), and demanded money, which was then given to him. He thought he had found a solution to his cash flow problems, so he continued to rob. Of course, he eventually got caught. He was charged with 2 aggravated robberies and a regular robbery. The only reason he wasn’t charged with 3 aggravated robberies was because he had been chased from the scene of his last robbery, caught with the money he had taken, but did not have a gun. Instead of a weapon, he had concealed a plastic Wii remote under his shirt and pretended to have a gun. However, in the news, I was shocked to see a story about my son that claimed he was the person of interest in a dozen robberies. It seemed it was just going to be a matter of time before more charges were brought against my son. I found Mr. Sullivan’s website and sent him an email in the middle of the night, and he answered. He showed up early the next morning to reset the first court appearance of my son. He visited my son in the jail and spent several hours getting to know my son and his life story. He cared about him and wanted to get him the best result possible. Over the next 3 months, Mr. Sullivan continued to work for my son, eventually getting a surprisingly lenient plea bargain and I couldn’t be happier. My son admitted guilt to 2 regular robberies and was sentenced to 7 years in TDC. He could be eligible for parole in as little as 10 months if he is a model prisoner. Furthermore, part of the plea bargain was that no other charges would be brought forth. Had a dozen aggravated robbery charges been brought forward, there is a good chance my son would have been in prison for life! The sentence range for one aggravated robbery is from 5 years to life in prison. The State could have asked the judge to stack the sentences of those cases. Instead, of the 3 charges already on the books, 1 aggravated robbery charge was dismissed, and the other aggravated robbery charge was reduced to a regular robbery. The sentence range for a regular robbery is from 2 to 20 years in prison. Without Mr. Sullivan working on the case, I doubt that would have happened. Maybe you think my son deserved to be in jail for life, but when you get to know him and the story behind the story, you wouldn’t feel that way. My son is not going to be an addict the rest of his life. And, he didn’t break the law when he wasn’t an addict. He is a person who needs help to recover. Now he has that chance. He really wants to start going to Narcotics Anonymous meetings as soon as he is in a place where they have them. He has told me that he feels that “doing time” has saved his life, and Mr. Sullivan has made it possible for him to enjoy it again someday. I will continue to pray for Mr. Sullivan. He is the most genuinely compassionate person I have ever met!

I met Lawyer Sullivan at a time when I needed a lawyer for my teenage son. He helped us through a tough time in our lives for that we are most grateful. He work hard and dilentgly to get my son probation. At the end of his probationary term his charges would be cleared from his record. I want to thank Mr. Sullivan for representing me. He helped me throughout a very critical stage of my life; I was going through a divorce and then also being charged with a felony theft. In search of an attorney, I went online and what caught my interest in Mr. James Sullivan is that he is a Christia...n and has amazing reviews. On September 23rd I was at the Houston airport rushing through a TSA check point. I mistakenly grabbed someone else’s Tag Heuer watch. It was an exact duplicate of my watch. When I realized it was not my watch, I contacted the TSA Lost and Found Department. I was then given instructions to return it when I got back to Houston airport. After being deployed as a merchant marine for 25 days, I returned the watch on October 19, 2015. By that time I found out I was being charged with theft. In February, Mr. Sullivan and I tried to retrieve the watch from the TSA. By then no one in the airport knew anything about the watch and there were no records nor videos. In court I had the opportunity to see Mr. Sullivan go against the most hard-headed prosecutor and just how he approached her in a professional manner gave me peace of mind. I had so much to lose, not only my freedom but also my career. Long story short the felony charges were dismissed by the chief prosecutor after I paid $4,720 in restitution for the value of the watch. I am grateful to be able to keep my career. I've had my career for 8 years now and counting thanks to Mr. Sullivan and I thank him for listening and believing in me, not allowing the prosecutor to convict me of a crime I did not commit. I recommend Mr. Sullivan not just to anyone who is in search of a good honest Christian, but a man I consider to be the best defense attorney.

I would like to make a comment regarding Jim Sullivan. He recently represented my granddaughter in a drug case that would've been an obstacle for her future, and possibly in the way of getting into college. First we arranged a meeting at his office. He had spoken to my granddaughter, explaining tha...t her mistake could cost her, her future. Letting her know that college is a main priority in having a successful life. He also explained to my granddaughter and I the process of going into the courtroom, and what he shall request for them to seal the case. Everything went well as planned. He is a Man of his Word. Genuinely honest, and truly cares about an individual's future. I definitely recommend him. His prices are very reasonable. I wanted to say Thank you so much for what you did for our son and our family. Our son was being charged with a felony and this could have wrecked his entire life. He was doing a favor for someone he considered a friend, and for that was not thinking straight. Mr. Sullivan met with us, spoke to our s...on for almost 2 hours getting to know him, listening to the whole story and really caring about our son’s future. He really does understand these kids and understands how a mistake should not cost them their future. Mr. Sullivan took our case and ran with it full speed. After sitting all day in court and watching all the other lawyers and cases, we felt very confident and relaxed knowing we were in good hands. When our son’s case came up Mr. Sullivan approached the judge with the prosecutor, told his story and explained the circumstances around this mistake he made. The judge immediately ruled in our favor and our son never even had to go before the judge. For this we will be forever grateful that Mr. Sullivan believed in our son’s future, knowing he is a good kid and deserved another chance.
