I did my homework prior to interviewing/hiring lawyers and mark is well known as a dwi specialist who is great in court. I did not want anotet competent but complacent old lawyer who just tries to get you the best deal possible and cash your checks.
This is not mark. He told me day one that he wasn't interested in getting me a plea deal... Just dismissal or trial. He didn't promise anything but I could tell immediatley and throughout that he was confident in his courtroom abilites and was almost relishing the idea of taking this case to trial.
After several resets I got a Christmas suprise: my case was being dismissed. I am sure that marks reputation with the ADA had alot to do with this. These pretrial negotiations seem to be alot like a poker game. The Prosecutors knew mark wasn't bluffing and was holding the cards to win in trial. This is what I feel set him apart from lawyers I've hired in the past... Everyone knew he wasn't just fishing for a better plea deal and was happy to take this case to court. I read that he has the highest winning percentage of any dwi lawyer in Houston and would use him again and have reccomended him to everyone I know.

I had an excellent experience with Mark Thiessen. I went to his office after recieving a DWI and was in a meeting with him within five minutes of checking in. After a few standard questions and chatting for a few minutes I felt complete trust that he would represent me well. The process itself was just as smooth, I recieved up to minute updates on my case and was never confused about what was going on. I didn't give Mark an easy case to win but he kept us both positive. When we went to trial he dominated the courtroom and kept me involved on every decision, even so much so I finally said your the expert you make the call. The jury was clearly responsive when he spoke and we got the verdict we wanted when it was all over. He's an excellent lawer that will work extremely hard on your behalf, do not hesitate to hire his services.

Having several friends who have had DWI's in the past, I had a few recommendations for lawyers to evaluate. After meeting with all of them I knew Mark was the best choice. He was knowledgeable, honest, had a can-do attitude and left me with no questions or worries when I left his office. After selecting Mark, I was quickly reassured when I spoke with several lawyer acquaintances that spoke highly of him and read a positive mention in the Houston Press about his win percentage.
Despite the circumstances, my experience could not have been better. The DWI charge was dismissed! Everyone in the court room knew Mark and he had a great rapport with the judge and DA's associated with my case. I plan to recommend him to others in the future if I ever have the opportunity.

One never quite imagines getting pulled over after drinking and the consequences it brings until you're caught. And on top of that, one would never expect for it to happen twice. The fear is undescribable. The attorney I hired to handle my 1st offense did not fight for me in the slightest. He convinced me to accept probation and made it sound like we didn't stand a chance by taking it to trial. Because I trusted him and didn't know any better, I took the deal. The humiliation of checking in with a probation officer, taking DWI classes, wasting so much time and money, and the fact that the DWI will never leave my recored are all extremely frustrating. I never would have thought it could happen again. We (my parents and I) knew this time we had to hire a MUCH better lawyer-someone we knew would fight for me and wasn't afraid to take my case to trial should we get to that point.
We met with Mark and I immediately felt assured he knew what he was doing. There were so many questions he asked me that my 1st lawyer never asked or brought up. Mark was extremely up-front and honest with me from the beginning, preparing me for the worst...which is difficult but obviously necessary. I had complete trust in him. After hearing that he was winning cases left and right, I knew that we had made the right decision. My video wasn't the greatest, in fact, it was much worse than my first, so I was extremely nervous and scared. Because Mark had been so successfull in other cases leading up to my time to take our case to trial, he was able to convice the DA to drop my case all together. I actually cried in the courtroom that day when he said the case was just dismissed. The relief is still overwhelming to this day.
If you should ever find yourself in this unfortunate position, I truly believe you can put your trust in Mark. I would never recommend another attorney to handle a DWI case other than Mark Thiessen. His work ethic, track record, honesty and drive are outstanding.

As most young people with an avid social life, you tend to only worry about having fun and not the possible consequences . . . . until the one day you see the flashing lights in your rearview mirror. Fortunately for me, I had someone in my corner to help me get through this horrific situation. Mark was very informative and attentive from day one. After battling the system for a little while, he was able to get my case dismissed. If you ever have to deal with this nightmare, I would strongly recommend you call him. I promise you will be extremely happy you did.

Mark is a skilled attorney. He's personable and persuasive, two essential traits for defending a case to a jury. One of the "not guilty" verdicts he obtained that I heard about was shocking considering that it appeared to be an open and shut case for the prosecution. A truly gifted advocate.

Mark is an exceptional lawyer and fights hard for his clients. Whenever I can, I try to either watch Mark defend his clients in court or learn from him in CLEs. This year alone, Mark beat down a case where a client was charged with 4 counts of felony intox. manslaughter and 1 count intox. assault. This is in addition to the mountain of acquittals he has under his belt. I would recommend Mark to anyone in need of a criminal defense attorney.
