I hired this firm after finding them online. Under the advertised under the service, I was looking for. After getting a prompt phone call back, from Mr Fisher. I was impressed with his seeming interest and willingness to work. Or so, I thought. Turns out, I made a very bad decision. I paid, and was a...voided and put off for weeks, nearly a month. Then a "different" attorney contacts me, Mr Hershey. I was informed he would be handling my case. I would've been fine with that, had he actually handled my case. But again detoured avoided vacations excuse after excuse. Gave my information several times. No filing NOTHING. I literally had to barrage this man with "texts" (our only form of communication because he won't answer his phone or return calls, EVER!) To get him to finally file the paperwork. 3 months later paperwork gets filed. Almost 6 months later, I'm still trying to get a update?! I received a return text after my reaching out, again. Stating paperwork has been filed out of my hands. I thought I had hired a attorney not a secretary. Their advertisements must be false, I don not believe they have ever done 1 case like mine. !!!! AWFUL SERVICE!!!!!!

We hired Mr. Fisher when my son got a DUI (.11 BAC) last summer. He passed the field sobriety test. (His BAC was .06 when he was booked.) When we went to court, Mr. Fisher prepared our son well. Our son had the option of guilty or not guilty. He decided to plead not guilty due to extenuating... circumstances. Mr. Fisher told us what to expect, including the possibility that the charges would not be dropped given the alcohol level (which was at the point where judges often show non leniency). When Mr. Fisher entered the court room, you could feel an air of respect - not fear, but respect. Even the Commonwealth (prosecuting) Attorney, who was very aggressive in pursuing his argument showed respect. Mr. Fisher argued for dismissal on the grounds that the arresting officer's report stated that the vehicle "was either on or over the line" four times. (My son was driving closer to the middle line due to deer on the side of the road including one that ran in front of his vehicle It was nighttime and there were no other vehicles on the road. However, the matter of the deer did not come into play). Following the initial arguments, the judge asked several pertinent questions and then asked the lawyers to take a recess to discuss the matter rather than rendering his immediate decision. After the first recess the Prosecutor would not relent and the judge sent them back to reconsider. After the second recess, the senior prosecutor intervened and agreed that the law is intended to protect people from unreasonable prosecution, and must be beyond ambiguities. Because the officer's report stated "either/or" it was too ambiguous. The case was dismissed. During the entire trial Mr. Fisher showed us to be a first class representative for our son He is experienced and wise. There were times I assumed he might interject, but I realized that he knew exactly when to use silence as the most effective tool. Jonathan Fisher is second to none. In our experience; it was immediately clear that his reputation preceded him. In addition, I would like to emphasis that Mr. Fisher is non-judgmental, approachable and good listener in the office and very accessible outside of the office. Also, Mr. Fisher has close personal and professional ties to Virginia Tech, the greater community and Virginia but ALSO the surrounding states. My family and I unequivocally give Mr. Fisher our highest recommendation.

I found myself facing possible felony charges or at best, misdemeanor charges, because of possession with intent to distribute approximately one half ounce of marijuana in Virginia. I have no prior convictions whatsoever. Mr. Fisher reviewed in detail everything about my case as well as my history ...and personally contacted the officer in charge of my case. Mr. Fisher was able to have all of the charges dropped based on multiple factors. He was also extremely good about staying in touch with me the entire time and did everything in his power to personally work me and help keep me from getting in trouble. I have quite a bit riding on the line right now and Mr. Fisher understood and worked to have the charges dropped. I will be forever grateful for the work of Mr. Fisher in helping to keep my life on track.

Do NOT hire this law firm. I live in North Carolina, but was arrested for DUI in Virginia, first offense. Needless to say, this was a trying time for me and my family and we really needed a law firm we could trust. I didn’t know any criminal lawyers, so I did some searches and found The Fisher Law Fi...rm which boasts “specialization in DUI and traffic defense. Member of the National College for DUI Defense.” I took advantage of their free consultation, liked what I heard, and hired this firm, which I would later find out was a complete mistake. During the consultation, I was presented with options and a list of things the firm would do to help me. As is was getting close to my appearance date, I called this firm two or three times, was put off each time, and finally spoke to an “Associate” the Friday before the Tuesday I was to appear in court. It was obvious that this Associate was not familiar with my case, but promised to speak with me on Monday. We spoke briefly or a few minutes and agreed to meet at the Courthouse prior to the appearance. It was obvious that little if any time had been spent reviewing the case and it was recommended by the attorney that I accept the D.A.s offer, plead guilty, and accept five days of jail time. Unfortunately, I agreed. At this point I felt as though I did not have any other options and this was minutes before I was to appear. The attorney recommended I agree to time being served at a local jail and begin the sentence on a Friday night. I was sentenced to five days in Jail. His last words were “don’t worry; you should be out by Sunday.” This was based on his supposed familiarity with several jails in Virginia. I was incarcerated on this Friday night at a jail other than the one he initially told me I would be going to. I was not released until Tuesday. I was held in lockdown (segregation) the entire stay, without access to medication, without a change of clothes, without linens, and was placed in a filthy urine-stenched holding cell. Upon release, I called every jail in Virginia (close to his practice location) and determined that no jail near or around his practice held the same definition of a “day in jail.” I was also advised by this lawyer that, since I was arrested in Virginia, I would be able to continue to drive in North Carolina where I live (this, at least from my perspective, was confirmed in a disposition email I received stating that my license was suspended in the Commonwealth of VA). However, a letter I recently received from the NC DMV completely contradicts that statement. I paid this law firm a lot of money and received back less than an hour of an attorney’s time and a brief appearance in court (where he had to be anyway for other traffic cases). Had he spent as much time with me as he did the Assistant D.A., I might have gotten a better outcome. Now, I will need to hire another attorney to help sort out this mess. There truly are two types of attorneys, those who sincerely want to help their clients understand the law, and those that take advantage of you (take the money and run) when you’re most vulnerable. Unfortunately, Fisher Law Firm falls into this latter category. I understand that I made a mistake and was accountable for it, but take your case and your money to a law firm that truly cares about you and in helping you navigate through our complex legal system.

This was my first ticket. I foolishly went 28 over the speed limit and deserved the reckless charge. I was initially going to go to court and accept the reckless charge but decided last second to request a continuance and think it over. I was not certain that a lawyer could help me reduce a reckl...ess charge. In my mind, I personally thought it would be a 50/50 chance that it would get reduced because of the speed I was going and hearing that the county I got caught in is strict. But when I called Fisher Law Firm, they were confident that they could get it reduced. After the consultation and payment, I waited patiently for the results. A month later, they called me after the trial and told me that the judge agreed to reduce the reckless charge if I met a few conditions. I believe they got me the best possible result given my circumstances and would recommend Fisher Law Firm to anyone on the edge of hiring a lawyer.
