Jonathan Preston Fisher

I was arrested in Wythe County and charged with a 3rd offense DUI in 5 which Carries a mandatory minimum of 6months plus a felony charge. Arrested on Sunday morning at like 1230 am. First off Mr. Fisher was the only one that answered his phone (direct line) on Sunday. I was initially denied bond and ...after retaining Mr. Fisher he was able to get me a bond. The case was extended out to basically a few days short of a year, some of this was Mr. Fishers doing and some was me asking him to get extensions which he did. Over this year I did an outpatient program, a semester of college and deployed for a bit as well while obviously not getting in anymore trouble. Mr. Fisher somehow got my charge reduced to a wreckless driving charge with no jail time, a $1500 fine and 6 months suspended license which is literally unheard of/ the best scenario I could have ever dreamed of especially with a like .23 BAC. I was preparing myself for a year of jail and not to even be able to think about having a license for at least 5 years. I am not proud that it took me so much to learn my lesson and the fact that I put others in danger but it did lead me to addressing the issues in my life causing such reckless behavior and while it was not exactly cheap because of my charge it was worth every penny and then some. Mr. Fisher literally saved years of setback and despair in my life and was able to get me another chance to fix myself and start doing the right thing by fellow constituents and my family. Money cannot speak for how grateful I am to him. He is very busy and you will be nervous about your case, if you dont always hear from him or it takes a little bit just trust the process but also be proactive to help him help you. If it is within your power to hire Mr. Fisher it is an absolute must for your case and maybe your freedom. There is literally no other option. My daughter was charged with possession of marijuana in Blacksburg. An internet search and some recommendations led to Mr. Fisher. We had a successful phone consultation, and I hired Mr. Fisher to represent my daughter. Mr. Fisher explained the options to my daughter which included the First Offend...ers program. We were adamant that we wanted to be able to expunge the charges, if possible, and did not want to accept the First Offenders program initially. My daughter wanted to take responsibility for her actions but also wanted the chance to expunge her record after doing whatever was necessary to address her behavior. The First Offenders Program does not allow for expungement of the possession charge. Mr. Fisher explained the process to us, and we waited for the court date. During that time, I was extremely anxious and called Mr. Fisher on several occasions. He calmly explained his intended course of action and professionally handled my anxiety. When my daughter's court date arrived, Mr. Fisher attempted to work with the police officer for a favorable outcome for my daughter. The police officer was not interested. Mr. Fisher then conversed with the prosecutor regarding an outcome that would allow the charges to be expunged if my daughter fulfilled all requirements. Again, the prosecutor was not interested. Mr. Fisher took us aside, explained the situation and stated that he was going to try the case. He was completely honest about the possible outcomes and thoroughly intent upon doing his best for my daughter. He successfully argued her case and was able to secure a dismissal of the charges. Needless to say, we are absolutely thrilled with his representation. I hope not to need his services again, but I highly recommend him to anyone who does.

Our son in college suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and was prescribed several medications for headaches and pain relief. Three days after being released from the hospital he made the unfortunate decision to drive a vehicle resulting in a minor traffic accident and a DWI arrest. We contacted... As our son’s case finally began, we listened intently as the prosecutor called his witnesses. When the prosecutor rested his case, it was finally time to hear Jonathan tell our son’s side of the story and establish his defense. Jonathan’s first action was to call a motion to strike the case due to a technical error committed by the prosecutor, and the judge consequently granted the motion to strike. Our son’s case was dismissed and he was free to go! Jonathan’s expertise and attention to details of the testimony allowed him to see an opening and he quickly capitalized on it giving us the result we needed. Jonathan Fisher is clearly an expert in the field. He really knows his subject matter and can think quickly and decisively in the court room leading to the results you need. We highly recommend hiring him for your case!

I was charged with a DUI in January 2017 by Montgomery County, VA and hired Jonathan Fisher as my defense attorney. I was stopped by an officer after reportedly making a "wide" turn. I agreed to take a field sobriety test believing that I was not impaired. However, I was met with disrespect and ho...stility from the officer for the duration of the test including incessant yelling and overall unprofessional conduct. I refused a field breathalyzer test, only to take another at the station moments later. The test registered a 0.09 reading and I spent the night in a jail cell. I came to Jonathan for free consultation after reading some impressive reviews online. During the session, I could tell that his knowledge and skill base in DUI law was superior to other attorneys that I had consulted. He provided a multitude of arguments that we could pose to the prosecutor from the stop to the breathalyzer reading, and it appeared that there was a good shot of having the case thrown out, and at the very least reduced to a reckless driving charge. However, after reading the officer's arrest report, it was clear that he embellished the field sobriety test results, lied about reasonable suspicion for the stop, and did his very best to smear me in the eyes of a judge or prosecutor. Approaching the trial, it seemed my best case scenario would have been a reckless charge, potentially coupled with large fines, and a possibility of VASAP requirements and/or license suspensions/restrictions. From what I understand, his plan of attack was to refute any field sobriety results based on miscommunication and lack of instructional integrity on the part of the officer (I am very ADHD, have trouble with directions under stress, and the officer was young and inexperienced). He also wanted to attack the breathalyzer results based on an unknown machine margin of error (MOE). Then, just hours before the trial, Jonathan was able to convince the prosecutor and officer to settle on a reckless driving charge with a $500 fine (plus court fee), no class, no suspension! We were able to settle before the judge without having to go to trial. I would recommend Jonathan to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation. He charges a wholesome rate, but he is THE BEST, and is worth every penny, especially with a looming charge as serious as a DUI (in a very conservative part of the state). It was clear to me that his words carried weight in the courtroom and that the prosecutor, judge, and local lawyers were well aware of his skill set. He is approachable, tactful, and very professional. The most notable benefit to hiring Jonathan was being able push aside the stress and fear accompanying a DUI charge, and focus on life/work knowing that I was in the best hands possible. 10/10

I'm not usually one to leave such a public opinion about someone online, but in this case, I think Mr. Fisher has definitely earned this review. When I hired Mr. Fisher I made it very clear that I have a lot of anxiety and was nervous about the reckless driving charge that was brought against me. I m...ade it known that I only wanted him to represent me. He took time to answer every text message, return every phone call, and even blocked out time for me to meet with him at his office. He assured me that he would take care of this charge. He was well respected by everyone in the courtroom; researched law to help fight this case. However, in the end I was convicted with reckless driving, but he immediately told me not to give up. He continued to stay in touch which really helped reduce my anxiety. Mr. Fisher didn't waste any time researching case law for an appeal. He never gave up on my case. The day before my appeal he was several hours away with another case, but traveled back for my appeal... and drove several hours back for his other case after my appeal. He could have just sent someone else from his office, but he didn't. I respect that he showed up and was able to negotiate a plea deal for me. He always did what he said he would do. It's true that we had to overcome some obstacles along the way, but he was truly the best lawyer for me. I am blessed to have hired Mr. Fisher to represent me. He is the reason I was able to get my reckless driving conviction down to an improper driving and a mere $200 fine. His services were not cheap, but he did allow for a payment plan. & I firmly believe that you get what you pay for. Mr. Fisher earned every dime that was paid to him and I am further ahead, financially, by not having to worry about my car insurance going up or losing my career... thank you Mr. Fisher, I appreciate all you've done for me!!
