A Great, Great Lawyer

Jeremy Saland saved me from a blatant lie and fabrication by my former wife. I was arrested for numerous felonies including Kidnapping and Stalking. The DA "offered" me ten years in prison at one point and I was looking at five to twenty five years if I was convicted. My ex claimed I abducted her at ...knife point. There was even a witness who claimed that she heard me threaten to kill my ex's family. Although there was no knife recovered by the police I did have rope, duct tape and zip ties in my car. Instead of the DA's Office doing a thorough investigation, Jeremy did. Despite my ex saying she wanted no contact with me, had not been to our old apartment and did not expect me to show up at her house, Jeremy got my landlord to testify at trial that he saw her at the house multiple times a week and more before, heard her ask me to come over to move furniture and saw me using the rope and tape on furniture in my car when I was moving it. We even found old texts with her acknowledging she had sex with me the week before the arrest. I was terrified, but Jeremy was communicative, patient and on top the case. After a two week trial the DA dropped the felony Stalking charge because Jeremy discredited my ex and her witnesses. I testified and Jeremy prepared me. Within about two hours after summations the jury acquitted me of everything. My life and freedom was on the line but I refused to plead to anything. I did nothing wrong. You do not know fear until you are in this type of situation. Jeremy believed me and stood by me. Even more important, Jeremy had the skill to convince the jury of that as well. I cannot thank him enough for protecting me - an innocent man

Review of Jeremy Saland

Words cannot even begin to express how thankful I am for hiring Jeremy Saland! Having never been in trouble (not even a speeding ticket), and facing serious felony charges for allegedly intentionally striking a woman with my vehicle resulting in stitches to her head, I knew Jeremy was the right attor...ney for me when he got me released from jail on a Saturday morning without any bail. Even though I could hardly understand the Second Degree Assault charges, Jeremy was there for me every step of the way. Jeremy regularly kept me informed, explained things in a way that I could understand, was kind when I became emotional, and fought tirelessly for me in the courtroom. His knowledge of the law and courts, his support, and his commitment to my case helped me to get through a very difficult time. When the DA threatened to go the the Grand Jury, Jeremy said we would testify. When the DA offered a misdemeanor, Jeremy told them we were not interested. I trusted him, and will be forever thankful I did as he worked to have all of my charges dropped and dismissed. Do not look anywhere else, I strongly recommend the legal services of Jeremy Saland. Trust in him, and trust in his proven track record, he will not just fight for you, but carry your struggles as if it was that of his own. Jeremy saved my life, and I will be forever thankful.

NYC Airport Gun Case

I was arrested and charged with two felonies while transitting through LGA in NYC with my legally owned firearm. Due to NYC's draconian gun policy and having some past convictions as a young man I was viewed and treated with bias by the ADA and judge at the arraignment. The prosecutor assigned to the... case was reluctant to reduce my charges to anything less than a misdemeanor due to my past troubles. Jeremy remained confident and hung in there for the good fight. He was able to have the felony charges reduced down to a disorderly conduct, a violation and not a criminal conviction. I found Jeremy to be astute and very familiar with "the process" of the NYC "justice" system. I would highly recommend his services to anyone who finds themselves on the receiving end of criminal charges.

Case of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and criminal use of drug paraphernalia

I hired Jeremy for my son. My son was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (PL 221.05) and 2 counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia (PL 220.5 subdivision 2 & 3). Being a non-immigrant and in the midst of the application for permanent residency, this whole issue was nerve racking for th...e whole family. I hired Jeremy after reading the reviews and I would like to state that all the positive comments that were written about him in the reviews are absolutely true. He was understanding and was kind to meet us even on a Sunday morning. He was patient, listened to our concerns and answered all my questions. My 1st impression about him was that of a knowledgeable person who could clearly explain to me about the details of the court procedures and possible outcomes. Needless to say that he was prompt in updating me on the development of the case. What impress me most is his ability to negotiate with the ADA and his professional knowledge on presenting the case in court. Due to his brilliance, we were able to obtain ACD and that too in a shorter term than expected. I went to court expecting ACD for a period of 1 year and Jeremy managed to get it down to 4 months. I was more than satisfied with the outcome and could not thank him enough for the best result that he managed to secure for my son. I will definitely recommend Jeremy to anyone who needs representation on criminal matters.

Crotty & Saland

Referral Overview: I was in immediate need of a criminal attorney due an unfortunate event occurring at JFK International Airport during September 2012. I was exceptionally pleased with the services provided by the law firm of Crotty & Saland, which included the services of Elizabeth Crotty and Jer...emy Saland. They were extremely responsive to my immediate situation, professional in all respects during their representation, communicated exceptionally well throughout the legal proceedings, and were tremendously proficient in their knowledge of my particular circumstance. As a result, they were able to get a misdemeanor and felony charge completely dismissed. I could not be more pleased with their services and professionalism. Case Details During September 2012, I arrived at United Airlines First Class counter at JFK to check my luggage and obtain a boarding pass to San Francisco. I had arrived in NYC from another destination two days earlier and was carrying, in my checked luggage, an unloaded semi automatic handgun. I had been through several airports prior to the NY trip and had disclosed the handgun to airline officials and TSA, as is required under both United Airlines and TSA policies on their respective websites. As an avid target shooter, I frequently carry a handgun on business trips in order to mix business with my passion. In all such previous trips, and through multiple airports throughout the country, I have never experienced ANY incident or dispute with an airline or TSA. I disclosed the firearm to the ticket agent who, instead of notifying TSA, notified the Port Authority. Several officers from the Port Authority Police showed up and, after some discussion, arrested me for 1) having an unlicensed handgun in NYC – a misdemeanor, (I was visiting the state, not living there), and 2) carrying a concealed weapon – a felony (it was in a locked/hard sided case in my checked baggage, and properly disclosed to the United). The actions of the ticket agent and United Airlines were disgraceful. As a United Million-Mile flyer and a lifetime Premier Executive flyer, I will never fly United again. It should be noted, as a business executive at 59 years of age, with both an undergraduate business and MBA degree, I have never been arrested, and only two minor traffic citations issued during my entire life. I was transported to the PA Police facility at JFK and held there for five hours while they processed paperwork. I was then transported to the Queens County Courthouse Detention Facility for arraignment where I was informed it was taking approximately 48 hours for processing and arraignment of “prisoners”. I was fortunately able to connect with Crotty & Saland located in NYC. Both Elizabeth Crotty and Jeremy Saland were both immediately responsive to my situation. Faced with the prospect of me languishing in the filthy confines of the Queens Detention Facility for 48 hours, I needed a firm that would be able to immediately get an arraignment time set. Crotty & Saland was engaged to represent me. Jeremy Saland was successful in getting the Court Clerk to set the arraignment for 1 AM that night (crime is good in Queens). Not only did Crotty & Saland get me released effectively two days early, Jeremy Saland drove to the Queens County Court for the arraignment. When Jeremy Saland arrived at the Detention Facility, he was on crutches having undergone surgery on his knee. He made the effort to drive down at 1 AM to manage the arraignment, and did so having to deal with a significant medical issue. After two subsequently appearances (eight weeks in duration), Jeremy Saland was successful at getting both charges entirely dismissed. The dedication, professionalism, personalization and communication were exceptional. I would, without hesitation, recommend the firm of Crotty & Saland, and both the principals of Jeremy Saland and Elizabeth Crotty, to any individual in need of a criminal defense.

"There are few criminal lawyers in New York City who are as skilled, aggressive, and compassionate as Jeremy Saland. I regularly refer him clients in New York City and Westchester and I am always pleased with the outcomes. He fights aggressively for his clients, even if it ruffles the feathers of the District Attorney's office. And as a former DA himself, Jeremy seems like he has their playbook in hand. He is always a step ahead of his adversary."

"I have known Jeremy since our days as fellow prosecutors in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, where Jeremy was highly respected for his courtroom skills and knowledge of the criminal law. Since bringing those skills and knowledge to private practice, he has obtained outstanding results for his clients. In fact, when one of my civil litigation clients was arrested, and I was prevented from representing him due to a conflict of interests, I referred the case to Jeremy. Jeremy did a fantastic job and got all of the charges against my client case dismissed. Needless to say, my client and I were both very pleased and impressed with Jeremy's abilities, work ethic, and integrity throughout the entire process. Should a similar situation arise in the future, I would not hesitate to refer my client to Jeremy."
