Fight extortion

My ex-wife attempted to blackmail me and recorded me without my knowledge. Further, she opened up credit cards without my permission by using my personal information and then racking up charges. After filing a police report where she lives, the local police in New York did nothing. After weeks and we...ll north of a month with my calls unreturned, I contacted Crotty Saland PC. Advocating on my behalf, providing evidence and “pushing” the right buttons, the police finally arrested my ex-wife and charged her with the crimes she committed. As an out-of-state resident where my wife had ties to the community, I needed Crotty Saland PC. But for their hard work, I would still be hoping and waiting for justice.

Beat grand larceny for me

I am a college student with a bright future. Before describing my case any further, Jeremy made sure my future remained bright after what was a paralyzing experienced being arrested for PL 155.40. Even though there were many lies and misrepresentations from some other college students who said I stol...e tens of thousands of dollars in jewelry from their home where they lived with their parents as well as a credit card, Jeremy put together the evidence needed to make it clear that the homeowners, parents and kids, were being far from honest. I was not scared that I was going to prison, but Jeremy and I discussed how a felony or misdemeanor would kill my future. Jeremy fought with me and did not back down. Jeremy knew how the system would work out and he was correct. The assistant DA reduced my case to a misdemeanor and then offered me a six month dismissal called an ACD. Sometimes do dumb things, but being accused of stealing over $50,000 was an embellishment and not true. My dismissal shows that and Crotty Saland delivered it.

A Godsend!

I was charged with Identity Theft in the First and Grand Larceny in the Third Degree. Both are "D" felonies punishable by up to seven years in prison. I was also charged with Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree, which is an "E" felony, punishable by up to four years in prison. The all...egations involved the spending of $25,000 through the use of a fraudulently opened credit card with another person's credit. The falsification of records involved the application for the credit card and a loan on top of that. One felony will ruin anybody's life and future prospects, let alone 3. As dumb as my crime was, I am currently pursuing a profession where even a misdemeanor can bar entry. Any kind of criminal record would have end my career before it even started. Jeremy worked a deal with the D.A. and at the end, 2 of the charges were dismissed, and the last dropped to Disorderly Conduct with no conditions. Disorderly Conduct is a violation, not a crime and will not produce a criminal record. I did not serve probation nor was I ordered to do community service. Any case resolved in the defendant's favor (meaning no criminal convictions) will ultimately be sealed in New York State. Sealed records are not accessible by the public, which includes employers. In short, I DO NOT HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD, did no probation or community service. Jeremy Saland is truly a Godsend and I will never regret choosing him to represent me. He got me my future back. I had a public defender at first and I KNOW FOR A FACT, that if I had stuck with the public defender, I would have a record. Jeremy is extremely professional, will not fool you, will let you know well in advance what you stand against and will advise and guide you properly through your ordeal. Additionally, he's understanding and very kind with his business practices. If you're reading this review and are in a similar situation or worse, you need to choose Jeremy right now because he will save you in more ways than one. Just call him and work something out.

"Jeremy is both a friend and a colleague. We worked together in the Manhattan DA's Office, and we are now colleagues in the defense bar. He has carved a successful niche for himself and is partner in a prestigious firm where he handles serious cases and secures great results. He's not afraid to take on the big cases and he's someone who I would trust with a referral. I highly recommend him."

"There are few criminal lawyers in New York City who are as skilled, aggressive, and compassionate as Jeremy Saland. I regularly refer him clients in New York City and Westchester and I am always pleased with the outcomes. He fights aggressively for his clients, even if it ruffles the feathers of the District Attorney's office. And as a former DA himself, Jeremy seems like he has their playbook in hand. He is always a step ahead of his adversary."

He's a persuasive, no-nonsense advocate who knows what juries and judges are looking for. He's done well by his clients, better than most criminal defense lawyers I know."

"I have known Jeremy since our days as fellow prosecutors in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, where Jeremy was highly respected for his courtroom skills and knowledge of the criminal law. Since bringing those skills and knowledge to private practice, he has obtained outstanding results for his clients. In fact, when one of my civil litigation clients was arrested, and I was prevented from representing him due to a conflict of interests, I referred the case to Jeremy. Jeremy did a fantastic job and got all of the charges against my client case dismissed. Needless to say, my client and I were both very pleased and impressed with Jeremy's abilities, work ethic, and integrity throughout the entire process. Should a similar situation arise in the future, I would not hesitate to refer my client to Jeremy."
