I was in a terrifying and scary case involving charges of PL 130.25 and faced the possibility of SORA registration and going to jail even though I had no record. Before going to Saland Law, I first went to another law firm after the lawyers there said they would take care of my case. Though I considered fighting the case to trial, I realized this was the smart and responsible way to end a case where I had enormous risk and a chance I could have been convicted by a jury. Jeremy and Liz could not have been more helpful during a time in my life where an ex became aggressive and frightening. Not only did my ex stalk and threaten me, but he tried to humiliate me with intimate images we previously shared. After meeting with Liz to explore our options, Jeremy then ran with... my case and arranged for an order of protection in Manhattan’s Family Court. In fact, Jeremy drafted the petition and took the steps to reach an agreement with my abuser’s lawyer. Instead of a drawn out process where I would have to have him served and return to court, Jeremy got my ex to come to court the same day we applied for an order and he agreed to accept the restraining order on my terms. This included the destruction of any images my ex might still have. Unfortunately, my ex reached out to me directly and through a friend in violation of the order of protection. Jeremy immediately returned to court with a violation petition and again arranged for a resolution with my ex prior to filing. Saving me time, limiting the need for me to have to see my ex, and keeping costs down. My ex appeared the same day we filed and agreed to extend the order of protection to five years. Jeremy’s and Liz’s advice and clear expertise in protection orders was clear and the efforts to prioritize my safety sincere. I hope that I will never be a victim again but if I am and need a criminal or family lawyer to assist me in or out of court, Crotty Saland PC would be my first call.

I cannot thank Jeremy Saland enough for convincing the DA to dismiss my case. After having a few drinks at a bar in NYC, I knew I shouldn’t drive and went back to my car to sleep. While I wasn’t drunk, I wanted to be safe. Because it was cold, I started my car, turned on the heat and closed my eyes. ...I never put the car in drive or moved from my parking spot on the street. At some point the NYPD came and arrested me for DUI after I refused to blow into the device. They also charged me with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle because of some unpaid tickets. I went to court about three or four times including for a Refusal Hearing at the DMV which Jeremy also beat to restore my license. Even though the DA made some offers, Jeremy told me to reject them. He argued that the spirit of the law was not to prosecute people trying to do the right thing and he was able to get a copy of video surveillance confirming I didn’t drive. Despite the supervisor’s initial unwillingness to agree, when the court adjourned the case to start a trial, the DA’s Office finally saw what Jeremy had been arguing. Not only did they dismiss the DWI on the merits but because I paid the outstanding tickets, they dismissed the entire case. Jeremy gave great advice, knew the law and allows me to keep record clean and career safe. If you can say “money well spent” in this type of scenario, there is no doubt that I hired the right lawyer to get the job done.

I live in Texas. I have a firearm and a Second Ammendment right to legally own and possess my weapon. I don't use it to hurt, mame or menace others. Upon returning from my visit to NYC, I flew out of JFK Airport. Just as the airline and TSA told me, I declared my firearm in its hard case. Fortunately..., there was no ammunition but unfortunately the Port Authority Police arrested me for a felony charge of Criminal Possession of a Firearm. I found Jeremy online and met him for a consultation after I was assigned a legal aid attorney who basically gave me a bleak outlook for my case and gave me little to no faith that he could help me. The father of my children accused me of assaulting him and harassing him on the phone. The inanity of ...the situation was magnified after the police arrested me for trespassing at my own home where I raise our children. He collected the evidence and made a package for them proving my innocence. Jeremy went to court multiple times too. After some hard work from Jeremy and patience on my end, the DA’s Office dismissed the charges. Just like it has always been, my record is clean. I have always looked out for myself and did everything on my own from getting a GED to a masters degree, but I am grateful Jeremy was willing to trust me and work for me. I was innocent and he made sure the DA knew it too.
