The poor review is bogus - scammer - Vos is Top Notch

The review with header "Beware" is bogus. I was sitting in conference with Mr. Vos when that man showed up and started making a loud commotion. I overhead everything, as he wanted to BARGE IN on our meeting. Mr. Vos graciously asked me if he could be excused and Mr. Vos then went out to speak with th...e man. The man said that he was leaving his wife and needed funds. Mr. Vos and he discussed that he first contacted the office in January of 2011, had a follow-up interview with Mr. Vos in May, yet waited until the END OF OCTOBER to retain Mr. Vos and pay him anything. When the man complained that his wife took his mail and he did not receive what had been sent to him, Mr. Vos came back into his private office and then Mr. Vos printed-out from the computer in his office the complete set of draft documents which had been prepared for the man A MERE THREE DAYS after he retained Mr. Vos. Mr. Vos then handed the 'replacement' set to this man. It's ludicrious to complain about delay and service when the man himself is rude, unreasonable, and just plain wrong. Under difficult circumstances of this man's own making, I heard Mr. Vos calmly and thoroughly explain that he gave to the man everything needed to file the case, that he would prepare an accounting of his time, and refund to the man promptly what portion of the retainer was NOT used up. I also heard them discuss that the man had not fully paid the retainer and that his first check bounced. Bonus - the man threatened to extort money from Mr. Vos if Mr. Vos did not stop my interview with him then and there an pay him 100% back. Sounds to me like Mr. Vos did prepare an accounting and did refund to the man MORE THAN 50% of what was paid. As to Mr. Vos - my observation of him handling this joker was that he was prompt, gracious and more than fair. As to this Man - can you say scammer? Turns out he claims to be a paralegal but actually sells used cars.

I coudn't have done better!

After having a previous lawyer take my money and mess up my case, I reluctantly called what I thought would be an expensive Marin County lawyer. John Vos turned out to not only be the same price, but he and his staff conducted themselves as true professionals. Mr. Vos's secretary was particularly imp...ortant in the process as I wasn't always as prepared and sharp as I could have been. I think an important reason I received such good service is due to my approaching them in a very friendly way. As a person who used to work in retail, I am keenly aware of how a customer can receive bad service merely for approaching a salesperson with unreasonable expectations or a poor attitude. In my case, I was obviously looking for a quality lawyer but additionally, as always, also trying to do business with decent people. John and his group treated me as I treated them - as unique individuals who deserved respect. Nowadays, the chance of being cheated or taken advantage of is so high that finding a good product at a reasonable price is really something to cheer about. This is especially true in hiring a bankruptcy lawyer as the stress that the bankrupt person normally experiences is too high to be worrying about whether her lawyer is really going to do their best for her or not. I wholeheartedly recommend John Vos and his group. I got the results I was looking for and in the process had the enjoyment of working with nice people, too.

Review of Vos Law Firm

Have used Vos Law office twice for bankruptcy filings. Last was Nov'09.Made it as painless as possible. Have recommended firm to 2-3 folks who have need of John's services. Whole office is extremely helpful.Past attorneys I have dealt with -afew could take lessons from John in client relations. My w...ife had also used John's services in the past.

Honest, straightforward and experienced!

I came to Mr. Vos because I had over $150K of IRS tax debt and he knew what papers to fill out and knew for my personal bankruptcy. He was very assuring to me about everything clearing up and he was right! I have been released from my past IRS debt and I feel like a new person thanks to Mr. Vos!
