Michael S. Waddington

Mr. Waddington knows how to step in and take control. We've been communicating on and off about my case for over a year. At first we were preparing for a court martial for sexual assault, then that got dropped 2 month af...ter I hired the Waddington's. No charges were ever preferred, but I was notified several months later that I would be facing a board of inquiry (BOI) for various misconduct. Without any hesitation, I decided to follow through with having Mr. Waddington fight my case at a board because I did not trust that my ADC would provide an adequate defense (I later requested a different ADC). Two days before my board, Micheal showed up looking like he was ready for war! He and my newly appointed ADC prepped intensely and I was very impressed by how well they worked with each other and how much they knew about my case without me having to clarify much. I felt a new sense of confidence going into the board knowing that my team was ready to put on an intense fight. Mr. Waddington's focus was to tell a story, that was his strategy. That became evident from the opening arguments where I heard him summarize my case to the board like an exciting movie trailer. Anyone who heard his opening would definitely pay to go see the flick, whereas the prosecution/recorders opening statement sounded like a straight to VHS movie in 2019. Throughout the BOI, I could tell that the prosecution stood no chance. Michael is a master at getting the facts out, even when I thought that he should add certain details and questions during his cross examination of witnesses, but I had to hold back and let the man do his thing in excellent form. I was quite entertained whenever he caught my accusers in their lies and whenever he got them to admit things which corroborated my story. The man is an artist, a storyteller, a well seasoned defense attorney, and a well oiled weapon when it comes to defense. He managed to prove my case and 9 out of 11 allegations were thrown out by the board, only leaving me with fraternization and adultery, which is what I admitted to since day one, almost 2 years ago. NOT GUILTY!! The history of the accusation against me, all the evidence that I gave OSI, and Mr. Waddington's work caliber were all part of my case that resulted of a NOT GUILTY verdict. First, I was accused of Sexual Assault a year ago by a girl that I have known for almost 2 years. I was noth...ing but good to her and she was the one that initiated everything. I was just following along with what she wanted. We had a complicated relationship but a relationship that anyone could tell that we're together. She immediately reported me to SARC the day after we had intercourse the night before. She suddenly flipped and turned against me. She had regrets, eventually lied/inconsistent on her statements and had the motive to fabricate. Second, when I was interrogated by OSI for 2 hours. I made a mistake of telling them my side of the story when I should of spoken to Mr. Waddington. I wrote a 12 page written sworn statement that eventually was disregarded because they had a video of me being interrogated and telling them details of what happened between her and I. I cooperated with them and I had no issue telling them anything they needed to know. Then I gave OSI my phone for the text messages as well as evidence from my computer regarding an apology letter from me to her. I basically gave OSI everything with a thought that I did not do anything wrong and that I thought they would help me find the truth in her accusation, but I made a HUGE mistake talking to them. All the evidence I gave them were turned to be used against me during the trial. I felt the most uncomfortable feeling I ever had listening/seeing all the evidence in court. I had relief when Mr. Waddington rebuttals the prosecutions argument as he did it with such a comforting feeling. Many things I definitely notice about Mr. Waddington upon seeing him work in the courtroom; his presence, his expertise, and a phenomenal Team Lead. I could sense Mr. Waddington's presence when he is in the courtroom. Even the audience/spectators that attends, packs the whole courtroom majority for the support of me, have noticed and only wanting to hear and see Mr. Waddington. Audience/spectators admired him. Even the jury seemed the same way. I could feel the safety and comfort that everything will be alright each time I see Mr. Waddington knowing that he is there for me. Mr. Waddington's expertise is something I definitely notice when he was defending me. He researched everything that was needed to properly dismantle prosecution's witness, arguments, and what they were going to say. For instance, during my trial he aggressively questioned the girl who accused me and she completely fell apart not knowing how to answer besides "I don't recall" or "I don't know". Similarly, the OSI agent who led my case and the one who interrogated me testified and was completely hammered by Mr. Waddington. Everyone in the audience kept talking about it when they get a chance to gossip. Also, it was an eye opening when the OSI agent admitted under oath that he did not do a proper investigation and was biased against me. He used the tactic "Believe the Victim" and "we're on your team" when interviewing the accuser. I did not stand a chance and I was already guilty in their eyes. Mr. Waddington caught that and skillfully defended my innocence. Mr. Waddington and his Defense team are phenomenal to witness. He brought in with him three experts that countered prosecution's experts. They communicated with laptops while prosecution communicated with their expert on sticky notes that was obnoxious to see. It was night and day. When one of Mr. Waddington's experts notice something that prosecution's expert does not know, they could relay information immediately. Mr. Waddington questions their expert on the spot as he cross-exam them resulting their answers to be in our favor. In all, do not hesitate to hire Mr. Waddington when your life and career is on the line.

Let me start off by saying that if you are ever brought in by cid,ncis,ect. for an investigation do not talk.The only words coming from you at that point is I want to speak with my attorney. The prosecution team are professional liars and can manipulate the truth without consequence.Also if you think... your command has your back,dream on.Command will kick you down the road with no regard.Be careful who you speak to while your case is being investigated.This case went on for 17 months, it's a long painful journey.You need someone like Michael and Alexandra to represent you in this chaotic military justice system(UCMJ).They are absolutely at the pinnacle of their profession. I am absolutely convinced that if I hired anyone else my son would not be where he is today.Charges were dismissed for a special courts martial and now he is carrying on as a free man,thanks to Michael and Alexandra.So in today's political climate you ARE GUILTY until you can prove your innocent especially in the military where the can gets kicked down the road because nobody in upper command wants egg on their face or is willing to say or do the right thing because of political fallout. It's no secret the military is scaling back and there're booting out some really good soldiers for anything they deem inappropriate.So to end if you get caught up in anything call The Waddington's it will be money well spent

Michael Waddington did a fantastic job defending my son, a Sr. Airman in a sexual assault case. My son was found not guilty because Michael was able to cross examine the prosecution's witnesses and expose their inconsistencies which led the jury to conclude there was obvious reasonable doubt, The G...overnment (prosecution) was determined to sentence my son. By doing so , he would have been labeled as a sex offender for the rest of his life with possibly a 20+ year prison sentence. When the prosecution did it's opening statements, I felt my heart sink to the floor, but when Michael countered with his, I knew the prosecution was in for a war which Michael ultimately won. My son was released from the Air Force and is now free to start his life over. Michael made that happen. If I had chosen to continue with the military lawyer appointed, I have no doubt that my son would have been convicted a sex offender and serving many years of jail time, I also have to acknowledge Alexandra Gonzalez - Waddington, Michael's wife and law partner. She is incredible and a perfect compliment to Michael. Her "hand holding" was so compassionate. I had so many questions leading up to my son's trial. Now I know why Michael can't always be available while he is concentrating on a trial. She put myself and family at ease by answering all our concerns. Her quick replies to my text messages and voicemails were nothing short of remarkable. Michael and Alexandra are truly an outstanding law team and one worthy of your case.
