Alexandra is a founding partner of the González & Waddington Law Firm, and a Georgia registered mediator. She has represented and defended hundreds of defendants charged with sexual assault and has worked on some of the most notorious war crime cases stemming from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
Alexandra & her law partner, Michael, wrote three of the leading textbooks on cross-examination, Pattern Cross-Examination for Sexual Assault Cases: A Trial Strategy & Resource Guide, Pattern Cross-Examination for DNA and Biological Evidence, and Pattern Cross-Examination of Expert Witnesses, published by the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL). These books are used by criminal defense lawyers across the United States.
Many of Alexandra’s cases have been reported on by hundreds of major media sources worldwide, to include 60 Minutes, ABC’s Nightline, The Rolling Stone, the BBC, Fox News, German Public Television, CNN, CBS, and various other international media outlets.
At the 2017 National Trial Lawyers Summit, Alexandra lectured to hundreds of the top trial lawyers from across the United States (click here to read more). Her lecture, Appealing to Diverse Juries Without Building Walls, taught trial lawyers how to effectively select and communicate with diverse juries in criminal and civil cases. Relying on the firm’s jury trial experience and academic studies, Alexandra demonstrated how picking a jury based on stereotypes can lose cases, while excellent Voir Dire can help win cases. The Summit took place at the Loews Miami Beach in South Beach, Florida.
Alexandra was one of the first lawyers to serve as a Public Defender for the Augusta Judicial Circuit. During that time, she worked on various types of cases, including rape, sexual assault, larceny, violent crimes, and domestic violence. She graduated from Temple Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, PA, where she successfully completed Templeʼs nationally ranked Integrated Trial Advocacy Program.
In 2015-2021, she wrote chapters in the American Bar Association (ABA) books, “The State of Criminal Justice.” This annual publication examines major issues, trends and significant changes in the criminal justice system, and is one of the cornerstones of the ABAʼs Criminal Justice Sectionʼs work. Additionally, this publication serves as an invaluable resource for policy-makers, academics, and students of the criminal justice system.
Alexandra was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Super grateful! Saved my career
I have had the pleasure of working with Alexandra for the past year; she has done a remarkable job. Her expertise in military law is immediately evident, and her professionalism is second to none. But beyond that, Alexandra is a very warm and friendly person, making her a joy to work with. When I w...

Top Notch Legal Counsel
Alexandra is an outstanding military defense lawyer and a wonderful person. My case was quite difficult because I had a 23-year career on the line and I was deployed. I felt like my command hung me out to dry. I needed a criminal lawyer that knew the Navy system and had the experience and wisdom to g...

The Money Collector / Fearmonger
I wanted to wait to write this review until my case was complete. Today it finally is, and it was an uphill battle because of her husband, Mr. Michaelr Waddington, who felt "pity for me" in his response to my review, but the real wolf clothed as sheep was Mrs. Waddington. Today, a Board of Inquiry fo...
This review is absolutely false and is somewhat surprising to me, especially since I personally spent so many hours working with this Officer towards his defense. In 2022, he was kicked out of the Navy as a result of an administrative Separation Board with no criminal conviction on his record as a result of my efforts. In 2021, my Law Firm saved this Naval officer from being a convicted sex offender and a convicted felon. He knows the UCMJ well and was trained as a legal officer, and he willingly went to NJP/Mast to avoid a criminal conviction. He was accused of multiple crimes, including: sexual assault, physical assault of an enlisted sailor, and sexual harassment of various subordinates while aboard a US naval destroyer. There were multiple victims, of different ranks, including two female Naval officers, and he outranked all of them. In fact, there were even recordings of him harassing one of them by asking her to kiss him while in his room on the ship. Of course, he was also married and had children back home. After months of hands on dealing with the prosecution, and preparing for trial, the government agreed to drop the two Article 120 sexual assaults, the Article 128 assault, and the Article 92 violations of a lawful general order charges, effectively removing the case from a criminal setting, if he agreed to go to a Captain’s Mast for only having violated a lawful general order. This would avoid sex offender registration, federal felony convictions, jail time, and a Dismissal from the Navy. As a result, the officer has NO criminal record. He willingly accepted the deal and was most certainly informed of his rights and the pros and cons of facing a criminal trial vs an NJP when he chose to do so. Afterwards, he sent us a personalized “Thank you” gift and letter, thanking us for helping him and then he continued to text me to ask for legal advice because he knew he might be facing a Board down the line. I informed him that we could not represent him at the board because part of his negotiated NJP deal was that he would submit a board waiver. And I advised him to hire other legal counsel if he wanted to fight that. Almost a year later, after he got the benefit of the deal, he posted this negative review. I should have known, but despite all of the signs I suppose I still wanted to see the best in him. This false review is extremely disappointing. Shame on you Jorge.

Top notch legal counselor
I hired Alexandra when I was investigated by CID for abusive sexual contact, sexual harassment, and violation of a regulation. The TDS office was always closed because of COVID and they never answered the phone. But, it was a blessing in disguise because I found Gonzalez and Waddington online. From t...
