    Review of services

Okorie is an extremely Respectful and knowledgable attorney. He always kept me informed of the status of my case and made me feel as if I had someone in my corner. I would recommend him to anyone seeking legal advice. He not only handled my case quickly but allowed me to be hands on and helped guide me in making important decisions. His fees are fair and negotiable and he is willing to fight for his clients to get the best possible outcome.

A Lawyer who finally gets it!

Okorie is the only lawyer that I consulted with who "CONNECTED" with me and empathized with my situation where other attorneys treated my case like another number, another case. He put his heart and soul in it from the inital consultation and made me feel the comort and ease that my case was in the best hands. Upon interviewing other lawyers, I reverted right back to Okorie without hesitation. He will roll up his sleeves and do what needs to be done to fight for you and persevere. My case is still pending but I am confident based on a personal reference (a previous client) and my own discernment that he is the best of the best and will prevail with the best outcome for my case. I will keep everyone posted. I am up against a third DUI. On a side note, he does communicate very well and thus far, has kept me informed and in the loop with things. He doesnt make himself to be superior to you but on the flip side, is side by side going through it all with you. He is someone I strongly recommend!

Okorie Okorocha’s response: “TIPS ON CHOOSING A LAWYER. Lawyers with 100 PERFECT REVIEWS and not a single unhappy client is using a service that posts FAKE REVIEWS. No one who only represents CRIMINALS always has 100% satisfied clients. Even Michael Jordan misses shots. Anyone who CLAIMS that they KNOW JUDGES, and PROSECUTORS and can get this and that done is DOING SOMETHING ILLEGAL. No LAWYER is allowed to SAY that THEY HAVE FRIENDS who cut them underhanded deals. Ask the other lawyers: 1. How many DUI Jury Trials have you done in 2011? Are you just a plea bargainer? I have done 20 plus. 2. Are you a specialist member of the California DUI Lawyers Assoc.? I am 3. Are you Nationally Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law? I am 4. Do you testify as an expert witness in DUI Forensic Science for other Lawyers? I do.”

    DUI Case

Okorie got me a better plea bargain than anyone thought possible and it seemed effortless on his part. My DUI ( .11 ) was dropped to a reckless and all fines were waived.

    Excellent Attorney

I hired Okorie to help me with a restraining order. My previous attorney, supposedly the best in San Diego "didn't do restraining orders" were his exact words. I was mortified as this was friday and my trial was on Monday. Okorie was able to get someone over the WEEKEND to appear in court for me on monday morning. After taking over my case he was able to get my restraining order removed, which is very difficult. I live in a very small neighborhood and the person that had the order lives on block away from me. If I had a restraining order for 5 years it would have made my life hell. Okorie gave me my freedom back.

    Great Service! Thank you!

Okorie is very professional and knowledgeable. Okorie came to me as a recommendation and I cannot say enough good things about him. I had met with several other attorneys before signing up with Okorie and was charged for meetings and hassled by previous lawyers. Needless to say, it was a blessing finding Okorie to handle my case. Okorie and his office are always available to answer questions and are in constant contact with their clients. I will definitely recommend Okorie to anyone in need of a good, successful DUI lawyer.

Recommend this attorney for DUI cases

Okorie always kept in contact with me. He was always available to talk and answer questions. Okorie made me feel comfortable as a client. He was always prepared and knew coming into to trial what his defense argument would be. Okorie told me ahead of time what to expect and what he recommended. He never gave up in trial, a true fighter till the end. Even though my case was not successful, it was a well prepared case with an atttorney who knows his stuff!

Okorie Okorocha’s response: “Lawyer's Comment: http://westlawnews.thomson.com/California_Litigation/News/2011/03_-_March/California_lawyer_fights_courts_on_DUI_pleas/ California lawyer fights courts on DUI pleas NEW YORK, March 7 (Reuters Legal) - An attorney in southern California is waging a legal battle against courts, prosecutors and even the state, accusing them of denying people accused of drunken driving the right to a trial. Okorie Okorocha filed two cases in Orange County Superior Court last week saying that by refusing to honor his scheduling conflicts the court was putting pressure on his clients to plead guilty. Last September, he filed a class-action suit against the Marin County District Attorney for allegedly imposing more severe punishments on defendants who choose trials over plea deals. In March last year, he filed a similar class action against the state of California and a Los Angeles judge. Okorocha told Reuters Legal that judges were singling him out because his refusal to encourage clients to plead guilty had resulted in a heavier caseload for the courts. Other lawyers encourage clients in driving-under-the-influence cases to plead guilty in order to "churn cases and make a fast dollar," he said. The court denied the petition on Wednesday, the day after it was filed, in a terse ruling that gave no reason for the action. Carol Levitzky, public information officer for the Orange County Superior Court, said the court does not comment on pending cases. Okorocha said he planned to appeal. "Defense Counsel is being harassed for taking cases to trial and not being dishonest by collecting retainers and forcing his clients to plead guilty, as is the custom and practice of the majority of lawyers that 'defend' driving under the influence cases," said one of the petitions filed last Tuesday. Okorocha said that because the Orange County court denied his requests to postpone two DUI cases, he and his clients were required to be present in court continuously during the 10-day period when DUI cases are called to trial. "The judge told my client he needs to switch lawyers or plead guilty if I'm not there," Okorocha told Reuters Legal. Okorocha, a member of the California Legal Team law firm, argued that the court's refusal to honor his other commitments deprived his clients of the constitutional right to trial with a counsel of their choice. "FRUSTRATING" FOR PROSECUTION Postponing a trial may be convenient for one party, but it can cause hardships for others, said Farrah Emami, a spokesperson for the Orange County District Attorney's Office, "It can be frustrating for the prosecution, the court and even the defendants that these cases get delayed, sometimes for an extended period of time," she said. California DUI lawyer Lawrence Taylor, who represents clients in Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside and San Diego, said that requiring continuous appearances during the 10-day assignment period places a significant burden on a defense attorney with multiple cases. "Having to sit around in court for 10 days is a huge hardship," he said. While uncommon, the tactic is used by some judges to coerce defense attorneys and their clients into settling, Taylor said. He said that judges have a different attitude toward DUI cases than toward other cases, especially in Southern California, the birthplace of Mothers Against Drunk Driving. "There's a lot of political pressure to resolve these cases favorably," Taylor said. "Judges who go up for reelection do not want to have MADD say they were not tough on drunk driving." The cases in the Orange County court's appellate division are Yousif et al v. Superior Court, County of Orange, No. 454117, and Rosenblatt v. Superior Court, County of Orange, No. 454114. The case currently pending against the Marin District Attorney is Serotte v. Marin County District Attorney et al, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, No. 3:10-4353.”
