For me, I had an extremely unpleasant experience here. He is the most unfriendly and arrogant criminal defense lawyer in Orange County in my opinion. He has a horrible personality and very poor communication skills. This guy lacks in compassion. Almost 10 months ago, I was attacked by my roommat...es. I decided to hire Hieu for legal advice. He won't answer any questions unless you have paid him a retainer fee and have signed the agreement. So I paid him a retainer fee and signed the representation agreement. All the fees that I have paid him were in a timely manner. I didn't owe him anything. 1/21/2022 I have scheduled an in person meeting with him. I met him for the first time. I felt very stressed at that time. It was a difficult time for me. I thought that he was able to answer my concerns as well as my worries in an in -person meeting. He did answer some of my concerns and questions. However, there were many times that he was inclined to interrupt the conversation whenever I asked him about legal questions. He made jokes about rape. He said that it is nothing. He laughed. All his jokes he made were so inappropriate and unprofessional. It made me feel so uncomfortable. I didn't condone such rude behaviors and offensive languages. In addition to that, he asked me about my school, my major and my personal life. He has crossed the line. He has crossed my boundaries. 2/14 The day was monday. He said that he was available at 2:30 pm. This was a phone call. He didn't show up on time. He told me to wait. So I waited and I called him back. It is very unprofessional for me. I wrote him an email and said that I will pay him for his time. After that, I didn't receive any responses from him. During this phone call, he even asked me " where are you?" I said that I was out of town. Then he asked why you were not here. It is very unprofessional and inappropriate for him to ask me in a phone call. In the written agreement, it was written as " Scope of services: Scope of representation which is trial." However, there was no trial. My case is not filed. As a result, I asked him if I am entitled to a refund. He became so defensive with me through text. He replied to me, " Read it more. It is for my availability. I cover you ask the way to trial." Then he made the statement about the contract. He added " Your contract also covers my consult ( the 90 minutes you sat in my office and the numerous reassurances), my availability..." I was like "Where was 90 minutes coming from?" I sat in your office for less than an hour. And you charged me an hour for your time. I am certain that he overbilled me. Besides, his contract was too vague and generalized. He charged me a retainer fee that represents more hours than a case is likely requires.There were no terms and conditions. He didn't rewrite the contract when circumstances changed. He failed to communicate with me reasonably. He didn't inform me in writing. He charged me the fees without my knowledge and permission. For example, he charged me 10 minutes per task for the court checking. For me, it seems very unnecessary. He called " 10 minutes per task is industry standard." He charged me for the legal services that were not written in the agreement. He is rude and impatient whenever I ask him for more clarification regarding the fees. All he does is that he ignores my questions intentionally. As a client, I can not understand you unless you give me specific explanations. For me, he took advantage of my situation. He took advantage of my kindness. He took advantage of me. Please avoid him at all costs and do not waste your time. When it comes to any legal matters, take my advice- do your own research and trust your own judgment. Thank you so much for your reading!

A few months ago I got myself into a bad situation, I did not know what to do or where to ask for help for, I felt alone. I decided to go into Yelp and research some attorneys. Called Hieu after being slapped with a DUI. I keep odd hours and Hieu willingly stayed late to meet with me in his office. He listened as I told him my story, then proceeded to lay out my options. Further, he explained them in detail as well as best AND worst case scenarios. Hired him and he stayed o...n top of things. Even beyond that he would text or call me here and there just to make sure I was doing alright. Went to trial and won. Afterwards members of the jury as well as the JUDGE HIMSELF commented on Hieu's superior knowledge of the law. Don't even hesitate. Hieu is worth it and then some! Hire this man. You won't regret it!
