Mary Frances Prevost

Hands down the absolute most negative and worst experience I have ever had with with an attorney_or any person for that matter. I was entitled to a quantum merit refund after firing Mary Frances Prevost because of a lack of services and communication and it took me almost a year to recover only a fra...ction of my funds owed to me. My retainment cost was $4,600, but the DA never filled (no case from the beginning). Mary never had to lift a finger. She also lost my DMV hearing (or never showed up), so I lost my license and my job ultimately. I have requested my file, retainment agreement and a list of services (invoice) provided with no luck. Mary Prevost will not answer any phone calls or reply to any letters, emails or text messages (unless you count the combative email she sent me calling me a drunk and slandering my name after firing her). All Mary provided was stress to an already stressful situation. Her attitude was very unprofessional. I had to complain to the state bar to get a response out of her. Stay clear away!

I think the headline is fitting. Mary is a brave attorney in the face of adversity. The adversity began when I was wrongfully charged with felony domestic violence. I consulted with five attorneys and finally settled on Mary. In part, because of her reputation as a tough advocate, and in part becaus...e she demonstrated that toughness - even with me - during our meeting. She drove right to the points that needed to be addressed. I found it refreshing. Other lawyers I spoke to provided assessments of the case that just didn't seem reasonable. Mary was straight to the point: this was going to be one, long battle. She was right. So, the first adversity we encountered was in the arraignment department with a recalcitrant judge who seemed only to take into consideration the prosecutor's sordid and false assessment of the case. Mary strongly countered the prosecutor, ensuring that the judge would not raise the bail, although it was touch and go. The next adversity was dealing with a prosecutor who could not - no matter what proof we provided - accept that a "victim" could falsify facts. Mary went to work, finding two other false statements and allegations my ex had made against other people in TWO other states. Two other people - just like me - were the victims of the psycho woman. The prosecutor still refused to budge. Mary went to work and her investigator found a woman at my ex's workplace who my ex had confided in, who proved that she was making up different stories to different people. Mary's investigator was able to find one - but not both - of the men who my ex had gone after before, Between getting the green light from the other "ex" that he would assist, coupled with the differing statement from the confident at work, we set to go to trial. My ex folded, and apparently told the prosecutor she didn't want to go to court, and she hired a lawyer herself., Bingo. Ultimately, after more than a year of turmoil and stress, my case was dismissed. Had it not been for Mary and her superb investigator being able to battle the prosecutor - who was totally in the dark about my ex's past and believed every false word she spoke - I would have been false convicted of e felony, lost my job, and much, much more. Mary is a really touch, touch person. She's busy, but that just means she is sought out, as it should be. I cannot thank Mary enough for her hard work, day and night, on my case. I highly recommend her.

I came to Ms. Prevost after having viewed her extensive experience and trial skills, as well as seeing her videos and how she presents. I was charged falsely with two felonies arising out of a false accusation of domestic violence perpetrated by my ex wife. Needless to say, this was her first shot o...ver the bow at attempting to keep my 6 and 8 year old boys from me. I hired Ms. Prevost because I felt I needed a woman who could take on another tough woman if I was forced to go all the way to trial. Unfortunately, the prosecutors rejected all attempts by Ms. Prevost to have my case dismissed even after presenting her with ample evidence that my ex was fabricating her story. I was correct in hiring Ms. Prevost to proceed to trial. She was ready and raring to go. She put my ex on the hot seat, and didn't NOT let her lies go unpunished. I used the word "punished" because that is exactly what Ms. Prevost did to my ex by way of her tough cross examination. The jury returned with two "not guilty" verdicts within an hour. Really, we didn't have time to finish our coffee we had gone to get after closing arguments before the jury returned. My only wish is that the DA's office would try my ex wife for perjury. But Mary told me the DA would not be interested in that kind of justice. I highly recommend Mary Prevost. Highly. She was a superstar in trial.

Mary came referred to me from a friend who had needed her services about 4 years ago, and who was satisfied with the result. Having no knowledge whatsoever of the criminal justice system, I decided it was best to go with a known quantity. First, she is quick and to the points. She does not suffer... long winded emotional diatribes. I know, she let me know immediately that it was her job to save me from myself, not babysit me or counsel me. Fine, no problem. Second, she seems to know everyone in the courthouse. She seemed to have a good relationship with court staff, bailiffs, even the judge. That made me feel good. Third, she did a superior job of negotiating my case. We had to continue the felony readiness because the prosecutor's discovery came late, and was quite lengthy. No problem. But before we went back to court, she went to the "special DA' assigned to my case, pointed out to him issues where his case was deficient, and also pleaded my personal case to him. All in all, the result we obtained in the negotiated plea bargain was excellent. I am glad that my friend referred me to Mary. She is tough as nails, knows the courtrooms like the back of her hand, and is a real force. She didn't always call me back as quickly as I would have liked. But I guess when you hire a sought after attorney with a great reputation, you can't expect instant gratification. Given her ability to secure a deal for me that I didn't think I could get, I'll take a little less instant gratification. I would recommend her to anyone. She re ally is a fine lawyer.

What can I say? I was charged with DUI with injury. I spoke to a number of lawyers. Funny how some young lawyers with less experience will try to sell you and charge larger fees like the more experienced lawyers. Interesting how some of the more experienced lawyers charge more fair fees. Anyway, I ...went with Mary because of her credentials AND she didn't try to railroad me into hiring her on the spot, like everyone else did. Boy, did I make the right choice. At the end of the day, there was a light at the end of that bleak tunnel. She got me a wet reckless, when I was charged with a DUI with injury. It was hard to keep the faith during the eight months this case took to resolve. But it was worth it.
