Best lawyer in Merced
Mr. McKechnie is not like most lawyers, he actually cares about people and understands that even a good honest citizen can have a run in with the law.

Client Review
I found Logan to be very dedicated to our case. He was informative and presented that information in a way that our family could understand. He was helpful and level-headed, which was just what we needed, being that our family was in turmoil. Looking back, I think it was a very wise decision to have him as our attorney and represent our son and would recommend him to anyone.

MISREPRESENTATION:(
MY HUSBAND HIRED HIM FOR A CRIME HE WAS BEING CHARGED WITH, AND MR MCKECHNIE WAS ATTENTIVE WITH THE DEFENSE HOWEVER GAVE THE IMPRESSION THAT HE WAS ONLY THERE TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE, HE DIDNT REALLY CARE HOW THE OUTCOME WOULD AFFECT OUR FAMILY. IN THE END MY HUISBAND HAD TO PLEAD GUILTY FOR A PLEA, AND SERVED MINIMAL TIME IN JAIL, HOWEVER HE WAS NOT MADE AWARE THAT IT WOULD AFFECT HIS LEGAL RIGHT TO BE IN THE COUNTRY AS HE IS ONLY A PERMANENT RESIDENT AND NOT A CITIZEN, THE WHOLE TIME MR MCKECHNIE WAS AWARE THERE WOULD BE ISSUES ARISING FROM THIS BUT FAILED TO SHARE THIS INFO WITH US. SO MY HUSBAND WENT TO MEXICO TO SEE HIS AILING FATHER AND WAS DETAINED UPON ENTERING THE COUNTRY, HE SPENT 3 MONTHS IN A TEXAS DETENTION CENTER, AND WE HAD TO HIRE AN IMMIGRATION LAWYER TO HELOP US OUT. I CALLED MR MCKECHNIE AND HIS DEFENSE WAS, WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN!!! TOTSLLY MISREPRESNTATION, WE ARE TRULY DISGUSTED WITH THE ENTIRE OUTCOME.

Dont hire this man on any family law/custody visitation or child supportcase
I was being buried by my son's father and lawyer in false accusations and malicious attempts to discredit me in any way they could..my sons dad had been trying to get full custody since 10 days before he was even born. He evicted me, knowing I had no where to go or family to help, and with a two year old son from a previous relationship, hoping to force me in a position of being homeless and having no choice but to give him custody. My then newborn son, just turned two in January and we're still at war for custody. I raised money just to be able to hire a lawyer because we needed help with these accusations and ongoing malicious attempts to take custody of my son. I paid him 5000 to straighten things out with the lies and allegations on the custody end and getting a child support order enforced- as they were delaying the process to hold off on getting any kind of support. Several mistakes were made that caused for continued hearings, Logan did made no contact with me regarding my case, twice I had to call his office the morning of court just to make sure he knew there was a hearing and see if he would be there or not. declarations were filed on other parties side but I was never sent a copies of any documents. He kept saying to just let him handle things, I'd be happy with the end result. The end result was, he was asked to be relieved of respresenting me at the start of a custody hearing without informing me..his office had confirmed he was going to do this last hearing and then that was it. Our money had run out and already gone over about 1500. He was relieved and I was totally in the dark as to what was going on currently and what they had filed. A declaration was filed and to be addressed that day in court but I was not provided with this document or even told anything about it. After he hung up I was asked if I had a chance to read the declaratioin and I said no, that I never recieved a copy. My sons dad's lawyer said I was lying, and trying to delay the hearing that day...he said he spoke to logan and that logan said a copy was given to me, which was not true. I recently found out he has ruined my child support case. He requested a temporary emergency order be set to help get us off cash aid. My son was 10 months old and I'd never received a dime from his dad to help support my son. An amount of 168 was set- which didnt help to go off of our 800$ cash aid whatsoever. I have only been getting 50$ a month from this..and was told that child support was on hold until there was a final custody order. When really that temporary order was the amount ordered- and started 6 months after my son was born. He did not have to pay me back for the first 6 months of his life where I supported him on my own, and he was in my care 99% of the time. The guideline amount was owned at 900$ a month, but modifications were made which I had no knowledge of until yesterday. Income was added for having the "means to work" though I had no means to even get child care to go to work. County services didnt offer child care until age 1. I had the potential earnings of 40 hours a week at min wage added to my income report, My son goes without and his dad pays less than what he should because of the notion that I had the ability to work, which I did not. Income added for a job I didnt even have..also potential rent of our house, even thought we lived rent free with friends. We had income added on for the potential rent we could be paying for that house. WHAT? I know. and instead of the 900$ amount the guideline stated was owed- an order was set for 168 and I was just told starting from the date of that order- that is whats ordered and all hes obligated to pay until I file for a modification. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! And guess what, Logan agreed to these terms. I was expecting at least 10k back in owed child support from the last 2 years and this jerk just got a free pass for continuing to be the worst father imaginable. He misrepresented and failed us.
