Navid Moshtael

My case was complex. I am the party with assets, and my other party challenged me for jurisdiction in California. I interviewed over fifty lawyers in three states in preparation for what i felt might inevitably happen. I had spent years carefully preparing an exit from an abuser with expert s...kills at extracting money from his victim (me) while avoiding all responsibility, and duping the world into thinking he was "the good guy that really cared" I was terrified of going to court in OC against a handsome, charming veteran when I had heard hundreds of horror stories of good moms getting terrible results against narcissist dads who sought to punish them.....my exact situation. I was referred to Navid by a close friend who had won an ongoing, complex battle with an unnerving psychopath who tried every dirty trick in the book on her, and she highly recommended him based on her own experiences. While this may seem like a frivolous comment to some, it won't to anyone accustomed to success in the southland. As a single mother trying to preserve capital and "wear more than one hat" I was VERY impressed that Navid and his entire staff was the only California lawyer who welcomed my children into his office for our initial interview, and not only that, but had toys for them. Navid was not stingy with his time either. I put him on retainer immediately at that meeting, recognizing his value based on how quickly his firm has grown, the results he got others, and the energy I felt in his office, but a year later it appeared I might never need a California lawyer and i asked for my money back. Navid's staff promptly returned my entire retainer. As fate goes, shortly thereafter I was challenged for custody in California and we filed a motion to quash. Navid paired me with a partner lawyer, Ron, who was a good match, a fellow gen x-er with a very demure, straightforward approach, who was of high intelligence and a quick thinker. He presented the facts of my case accurately without flagrancy. The cost of southland lawyers is much the same across the board, the difference lies in, whether a firm will intentionally string you out with minor "mistakes" and padding bills through other typical methods, plus their energy in truly behaving as a fiduciary in your matter. I can say that I felt 1000 times more comfortable in my scary, expensive multiple state custody battle with Navid and Ron handling my affairs. When I was afraid, they were there to reassure me, but, more importantly, Ron was completely successful in having the case dismissed within a minimum number of court appearances and billable hours. In a sea of cutthroat southland family lawyers, I would highly recommend his firm. If I ever need help in this type of matter again I will be returning to their firm without question. Navid and his staff are a very valuable asset.

I am sharing my personal experience with you guys. First of all, when I received notice from my ex-husband who filed for divorce, I didn't think I needed to hire a lawyer! I was 100 percent wrong. If you have an asset, you are making good money, then go ahead and hire a divorce attorney, and thank me... later! There are too many strategies and tricks that the other party uses to take your money. In my case, I was the person who made more money, and my ex-husband and his new girlfriend tried to get a good amount of spousal support from me. Ladies, take my advice and never marry a poor guy although he is good looking and handsome! Long story short, Navid was the person who saved me a lot of money, and I need to thank Moshtael Family Law again and again. I am moving out of Orange County to start a new life.
