I hired mike in December 2014. My wife an I were in a motorcycle accident and she did not survive. I was charged with Watson murder, Gross DUI Manslaughter and DUI Manslaughter. I plead not guilty to all charges. My case ended up going to a Preliminary Hearing. During the hearing I had the oppor...tunity to see mike shine!!! I felt a little bad for all the witnesses, law enforcement, DA's investigator and the DA assigned to my case. They could not answer the questions, even simple question. I understand that the phlebotomist that drew my blood could be nervous and scared but, to not be able to remember what school she ateneded, even after Mr. Scafiddi tried to calm her down, is pretty bad. The police officers were questioned and the official blood evidence was thrown out by the Judge. One of the officers wrote that I answered yes to a question in his official police report but, the recording of his voice and mine clearly proved that I had in fact answered no! He couldn't recall what I was wearing, what my wife was wearing or even what brand of motorcycle we were on... Harley... DUH! He could hardly answer a single question without referring to his written report. The 2nd officer spoke with me about drawing blood a couple of times. I always asked the officer what would happen if I refused. He would change the subject. He wrote in his report that I acknowledged consent to the blood test by nodding my head and moving my eyes? In a neck brace? After I had been having a conversation with the officer? The DA's investigator... from what I know all he had to do was check the hospital blood alcohol test. The investigator knew the name of the Doctor and the type of machine used at the hospital. He didn't know if the Doctor was in fact an MD. He did not know what type of degree the Doctor had if any. He didn't know anything about the machine used to test the blood. Every question Mike asked the DA's investigator, the investigator could not answer. The DA appeared to be very arrogant. When the Preliminary hearing started the Judge scolded the DA, working on my case, for not cooperating with my attorney. The case could have been resolved over a year sooner if, the​ DA would have been willing to accept a plea bargain on any or the charges but murder. The DA was replaced immediately after the preliminary hearing. Mike arranged for the best expert witnesses. They definitely were EXPERTS in their fields and on the subject matter. I would recommend , and have recommended, anyone to Attorney Michael Scaffidi. He really takes time to get to know you, he and his staff treat you like family and he spends hour upon hour studying the case and preparing to present it. Mike is the best. No one could do better.

Mike, took a bad situation where my 20 year old son was charged with a felony that probation was not an option ,the judg's only option was prison sentenence. Mike coached me on the type of reference letters to obtain, have my son attend NA meetings 3 times a week, volunteer at Goodwill every week, be... drug tested weekly. We did all those items and documented them. He stalled at 2 different hearings to allow time to negotiate with County attorney who wanted a 3 year in State prison sentence. My son was sentenced yesterday to 3 years probation and 180 days work release. It was a grand slam for my son and our family. We owe Mike a great deal. He truly cared about my son and work like he said he would to get best possible outcome.
