A few years ago I hired Mr. Scafiddi to represent me in a criminal tax issue case which resulted in a very positive outcome for me and my family. After a long and lengthy, back and forth discussions and negotiations with the state attorney, I was placed on formal probation and could not leave the s...tate or country for any reason for 30 months. In the early part of May of 2019, I asked Mike to ask the probation dept to allow me to attend a weeding for a family member in the mid-west and the probation dept would not allow it. Mr. Scafaddi went up the chain to the Probation Chief and still the answer was no! Upon researching the proper laws and because my issue was not an issue involving a violent crime, Mr. Scafaddi made a motion to have the case heard in court . On the date of court, the judge stated he did not have jurisdiction to hear the case because he (the judge) did not know the law of probation. Mr. Scafaddi and Mr. Daly my other attorney at this law firm researched the law and we appeared a few days later and the same judge was then enlightened with the law and allowed me not only to go on this trip, but to strike that provision out of my probation terms effective the same day we were there. Like many others, I NEVER thought I would need a CRIMINAL attorney.
