What can you say about a man that tells you "don't worry, I'll take care of your daughter as if she was my own" and then does just that? How about "THANK YOU" from the bottom of mine and our family's ever so grateful heart. Most people turn their noses us when they hear the word "lawyer", but Mike's office has been amazing at dealing with my case. In July 2014, I was accused of stealing property from my former high school, and as a result, the police came banging through the door with a search warrant. After 2 hours of... interrogations in my dad's office with a detective who didn't care about my rights, I gave a false confession which would have hung the case in any other circumstance. After searching around online, plus recommendations from friends, I found The Law Offices of Michael Scafiddi through the main Shouse Law Group website. I filled out the online form, and sent it, and in 5 minutes, Michael called me back, and decided to meet at his office. I initially met with Scot Neudorff, and he was very open about the possible outcomes of the case, and where it could go. After the initial meeting, we retained them on the spot. Concurrently, the investigating detective kept trying to push his way into my life, contacting potential employers, and following me around almost everywhere. As soon as we paid the retainer fee, Scot briefly left the room, and a few minutes later came back and said he called the detective, and told him to back off. Lone behold, I was facing 7 felony charges with a potential punishment of 5 years in state prison. My initial arraignment was handled by Ricson Dakanay, and the later ones by both Ricson and Ben Cates. They also paired me up with Rory Daly, who was excellent at handling all the "little facts" in the case, and was always there if I needed his advice, and even checked in with me a few times a month, just to see how I was doing, as did Mike and Ricson a few times. There was also some items taken from my house due to police misconduct, and Mike was extremely helpful in getting those items returned to me in a timely fashion. The results obtained by a plea bargain were no less than superior, and after 18 months, the DA agreed to revisit the case, and make the necessary changes to the convictions at that time.
