Michael Anthony Scafiddi

We live in another state but our child lives in California. One Sunday morning we received a frightening phone call that our child was arrested. We knew we needed to hire an attorney but didn’t know where to look since we lived so far away. I started searching the internet and I was drawn to one web...site over and over. I emailed them and within an hour I received a phone call from an attorney named Scott, he explained who he was, asked some questions and told me what the cost would be. We did everything over the phone, fax, and internet. Sarah another attorney from the firm went to court for the initial bail hearing only to discover the case was more serious than we originally thought. At 9:00 that evening we received a phone call from Scott and were informed of the issues and that the entire Scafiddi “team” was working on this case that evening and that Michael Scafiddi was personally taking the case. Mike looked at us both and sincerely asked “What’s best in the long run…” Michael explained the issues thoroughly and with such compassion and conviction; he asked us to “trust” him and so we did. Michael also stuck by the original fee we were quoted when he/we became aware of the seriousness of the case; he’s a man of his word. Michael is an intelligent, ethical, and compassionate human being; his experience as an attorney resulted in dropped charges, acceptable terms and a favorable outcome of this case. His compassion as a human being resulted in a blessed and positive outcome for our child. Michael didn’t just represent a client; he represented a person, a person who needed personal help in addition to legal representation. Because of Michael’s kindness and professional affiliations our child is receiving much needed treatment in a rehab facility. Throughout this entire process we felt like we were his only clients; he called us in the evenings, on a Sunday morning, he called from his cell phone immediately after a meeting relating to our case, and visited our child on evenings and weekends while they were still in custody. I knew of Michael’s other obligations and busy schedule and remembered asking my husband “When does this man ever sleep?” I do believe in miracles and feel blessed that we met Michael. What an amazing surprise when an attorney lists his cell phone number in an advertisement and actually responds within minutes. Mr. Scafiddi continued this level of responsiveness whichever media used, cell, e mail or in person for a period of eight months. Our case involved a 2nd DUI with great... bodily injury which should have been a felony. As you can imagine a parents nightmare, Michael immediately met with us all and clearly and sincerely explained the events to come sharing his personal tragedies and experiences related to alcohol. DMV issues were handled, private investigations were completed and we were kept informed. I jokingly refer to Michael's "pearls of wisdom" shared in our meetings, which were comforting and offered with complete sincerity. We would always leave his office with a positive outlook on life in general and a bit of a smile despite the circumstances. As a result of Michael's highly trained and courteous staff, his tenacity and knowledge, the charges were reduced to a misdemeanor. This situation could have been so much worse, and we are thankful for the cell phone that was answered.

My case was an out of state DUI. I was on vacation in Palm Desert and got picked up late on a Friday night with a .12. While in the holding tank, I had people telling me in Riverside county its usually over at that point, write the checks, lose the license, take the class, pay high insurance premiu...ms forever. I did a bit of research and found MIke on Saturday morning, he took my call, laid out the process and never flinched at the time it was taking him while I fretted over my situation. He walked me through the procedures each time we were entering into a hearing, he personally represented me on the actual case days (not a staffer), his staff kept me fully informed, and they worked their tail off on my case. Better yet, one fee, I paid it and he never asked for another dollar representing me. He stuck with the case, never took the easy way out by recommending we just plead guilty, he always told me we had a chance and delivered what he said he would do for me. And by the way, the case took 14 months to close with numerous continuances and meetings with the DMV and the DA. I never even flew back to California for a meeting. All done over the phone.
