Excellent Attorney

I had dealings with four other attorneys before I found Don and he was the most helpful, knowledgeable, and proactive lawyer I had dealt with. Don explained the nature of my case in realistic terms so that I understood the reality of what was to come. My case ended for the most part in my favor. All ...lawyers are expensive for us mere mortals but Don never charged for little things like a phone conversation or pulling my case from a file cabinet to look at it for 5 minutes and then bill me in a 1/2 hr. increment like some other firms do. His explanations are very educational leaving you well-informed and comfortable. I have continued to seek his counsel years after my case was complete and I have always been happy with his service. I would highly recommend Don to anyone.

Set realistic expectations and worked to overcome obstacles

After attempting and failing a collaborative divorce, Don took over and was able to get things back on track. He was very communicative and was able to set my expectations correctly. He let me know how things worked, and what I could expect from the various stages. I felt that the opposition would a...lways delay on the back and forth with various details. In the end, Don was able to put a stop to that by offering to work directly with the opposing council for the final wording, thus eliminating another round of "back-and-forth" I knew my case wouldn't have the "perfect" outcome, but thanks to Don's communication, my expectation was set correctly, and I was able to plan for the outcome that I received.

Really Helpful

I went to Don to take my ex-husband back to court for increased child support after 10 years of being divorced. I didn't care for my original lawyer who charged me $200 up front to just talk to her about the idea of taking my ex back to court. Overall, I was apprehensive about the cost and hassle of... going back to court. Don listened to my needs and took the time to explain the next steps clearly. He told me more in our first one-hour free consultation than my original divorce lawyer did through the whole process 10 years ago or even when I talked to her about going back to court. Don was communicative and I felt I really had an advocate who was fighting for me. He really went the extra mile when my ex attempted to delay the decision. Don requested an impromptu meeting in judges chambers on the spot and my ex was ordered to comply and the child support was increased (state minimum had gone up twice since my original divorce and my original lawyer never mentioned this or that I ever had any avenue for an increase). Don was great at explaining how judges usually rule and what is and is not normal during such proceedings. I was also pleasantly surprised that Don completed all the necessary paperwork for filing himself, because my first time around I had to complete a great deal of the paperwork or proof read carefully to correct errors from a paralegal. Don completed the paperwork accurately and if I had any questions, he answered them right away. He was absolutely great to work with and I would recommend him to anyone going through a divorce or needing to go back to court for additional proceedings.

Good Experience

Don is professional, knowledgeable and will tell you things as they are. He helped me tremendously in my divorce case. He was available on the weekends if needed and was very thorough with paperwork.

Smooth talker, no results

Don was hired to handle a post divorce issue. He did not communicate or return calls. He sent paperwork for required for court the night before court instead of giving us proper time to complete it. He is all about his fees and a lot less about actually settling a case. Many questions that were a...sked of him were not answered. We switched attorneys and got results in a matter of weeks that Don couldn't get us in months and thousands of dollars. I believe he is a horrible attorney.
