PERSONAL STATEMENT:

I return calls and emails promptly; I make myself available. I stand by the advice I give and make sure you understand the process. I have the experience that counts. I concentrate my practice in the area of family law, including: dissolution of marriage (divorce); allocation of parenting responsibilities (child custody and visitation); paternity matters; child support; maintenance; and property allocation. I'm experienced in the difficult issues that may arise in divorce and family law matters. The legal system can be confusing and harsh; I am here to advocate for you, make sure that you understand your options, and help you make informed decisions. My goal is always to leave you with the best result possible.

AWARDS AND BACKGROUND:

I have won the Avvo Client’s Choice Award in 2016, 2019 and 2021. Also, I was designated an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers in 2019 – 2022. Less than 2% of all lawyers licensed in each state have received the distinction of Emerging Lawyer. Further, I was designated as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers (Thompson Reuters) in 2021 and 2022. My undergraduate education focus was finance. During law school, I volunteered as a Supreme Court Rule 711 law clerk with the Cook County Domestic Violence Legal Clinic. I also volunteered with the John Marshall Law School Voluntary Income Tax Assistance Clinic.

Outstanding divorce attorney

Tony worked with me on a marital settlement renegotiation. He listens and takes the time to understand his client. I was impressed with his integrity. Highly Recommended

Tony helped me through a very difficult divorce from an uncooperative and unresponsive partner. He guided me through every step of the way and offered numerous options for resolution. He handled my case with professionalism and compassion and took the time to answer all of my questions (and I had a lot!). Even after the divorce he was a great resource for some post divorce/child custody situations that came up. Would highly recommended.

Divorce Case (Father)

I really can’t say enough about Tony. I can start off by saying, he fought so hard for me & my kids, I feel like I’m in debt to him for the rest of my life. He’s an amazing person first off, and he’s just as great as an attorney. In a time where Fathers are mostly relegated to being weekend parents, Tony embraced my fight to have split custody & to possibly being the custodial parent. At no time did I feel as though Tony was not on my side, or leading me the right way. He was a blessing to me and my family. He guided the whole case with knowledge, and class. Now- I am custodial parent with the majority of the time with my kids 80/20 split, because he guided me & he was patient, and he cared for my family. If you are going through a divorce situation, it’s never easy. Having Tony guide, me through this, was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Tony Vechiola is a very thorough attorney that I highly recommend

Tony Vechiola represented me in a post-decree matter. Our final settlement agreement was composed exclusively by Tony Vechiola. He left no stone unturned. Our joint parenting agreement covers every holiday, birthday, all days off of school, etc. My case involved a Guardian Ad Litem and Tony followed up closely on that part of the case as well. I would highly recommend him to anyone either filing for divorce or returning to court going back for post-decree matters.

Highly recommended!!

I really enjoyed working with Tony. He is/was very thorough in all aspects of our dealings. He took the time to make sure I understood everything, answered every question in a way I was able to walk away with full understanding, and showed he truly cared for my unique situation. I also really appreciated his sense of urgency! Everything was always completed quickly and well before the dates required. This gave me an extra layer of confidence going into any hearings associated with the case

Nice and knowledgable lawyer

Tony was my lawyer for about two years during a difficult divorce that consisted of child support, GAL, multiple hearings, and a custody trial. He’s an extremely nice and a pleasant person to work with, and never looks down upon you. He’s very straight forward and does not waste time on nonsense to drain money out of you. He always had a plan, was always prepared, and answered any questions I had, in an easy understood manner. He has good analytical skills and was able to quickly use them during the trial, by challenging, proving wrong, or asking difficult questions. I was truly impressed at times, on how he challenged the opposite side. Always had a smile on his face.

Honesty and candor

We consulted Tony regarding a non-divorce related family law matter. He is professional yet understanding. I appreciated his honesty about the likely outcome. Although we didn't proceed with this matter, I would go back to him about a family law issue without hesitation.

Superior Counsel

Tony was easy to work with and has a great demeanor. Divorce sucks, as anyone who has gone through it knows. Tony has a good sense of humor and was able keep things as light as possible, but was also able to change gears when necessary to get me to "wake up" and face the tough decisions that were ultimately necessary to make. I doubt anyone would tell you they "won" in a divorce, but I can confidently say that Tony played hardball when necessary to get optimal results from the divorce. Most of all, he was patient and listened to my stories and sorted out what was really important for the purposes of the divorce. I give Tony 10 stars

Excellent Divorce Attorney

Post Decree Custody

Tony represented me in a post decree custody process. He kept me advised of all aspects relating to the GAL, dealings with opposing counsel, and court proceedings. The final results were extremely positive. I would fully recommend Tony for representation.

Excellent Family Lawyer

For my divorce I wanted an attorney that would advocate for me and one I felt I could trust. Tony filled this bill perfectly. Tony was extremely friendly and helpful in explaining the process as my divorce progressed. He was professional, respectful, understanding of my situation. Keeping me updated throughout the process, honoring my requests (when able), providing advice, and ensuring that I understood everything that was occurring. He made recommendations on how to proceed based off of my desires and needs. He is very matter-of-fact while still remaining courteous and understanding.
