Courtney Mehta graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2011. During law school Courtney spent her summers clerking for a Family Law firm.  After passing the bar,  Courtney began her career working for Mitchell Law Group in Joliet, Illinois.  

 

In 2016,  Courtney joined Henderson Law & Mediation Center, now Henderson & Mehta Law and Mediation Center.  At Henderson & Mehta Law & Mediation Center, Courtney concentrates her practice in the areas of Divorce,  Separation, Parental Allocation (formerly known as Custody), Guardianship, and Adoption.  Courtney is also on the Will County Mediation and Guardian ad Litem lists. She is frequently appointed in those capacities.  Courtney is currently a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Will County Bar Association where she serves as the Co-Chair of the Guardian ad Litem Committee.  Courtney has presented on a Guardian ad Litem panel and on the Best Interests of the Minor Children.

 

Courtney is currently a working Mother of two children. She lives in Naperville, Illinois with her husband and children.

It was reassuring to know that my case and outcome were of high priority. I was not able to attend over half of the court dates and the communication prior to each court date and post communication was great. Great Experience
Dealing with the court is never fun, but it helps when you have an honest lawyer that is really there to help you make the experience as fast as possible and less expensive than I had experienced in the past. I have dealt with lawyers that seem to drag it out as long as possible. This wasn't the case with Courtney. I highly recommend Courtney Mehta if you are in the need of a divorce lawyer.

Extremely Competent Attorney and Staff
In order to support my desired retirement date, I had to return back to court to modify an existing court order requiring me to continue making payments to my ex-wife. I had an initial consultation with Courtney, and she explained the possible outcomes of my request. Based on our discussion, I felt Courtney was the person to represent me. Courtney and her staff were instrumental in navigating me through the process and helping me achieve my goal of getting the court order modified to allow me to retire without the burden of any additional payments to my ex-wife. Effective communication with your attorney is essential when dealing with a desired end date, and it is even more critical when factoring in all of the COVID related limitations. Courtney and her staff provided me with prompt updates on developments with my case as well as with any of my emails, phone calls, and billing status. There is not a better divorce attorney around, and I am forever grateful to have found Courtney when I did. After meeting several attorneys, I walked into Courtney’s office frustrated, scared and mad. Courtney walked me through the whole process and told me that I was going to feel better when it’s all over…”yeah right!” But from her confidence, I knew she was the attorney for me. My case was very difficult due to the non cooperation of my ex and the situation surrounding my daughter. Best decision made
I had a very ugly case with my son’s father for over 6 years. She was referred to me by a friend. I needed someone to fight for my son and see him and me more than pocket change. Courtney, not only cares about her clients and their children, but she is beyond intelligent. I’ve never met a lawyer who has a way with words. I’ve always had problems in the past with getting a hold of my other lawyer. This was not the case with Courtney. She was always available and quick to respond. She is very honest and doesn’t string you along or make false promises. Working with her is the greatest paralegal team who was always available as well and fights just as hard. Wendy is the best paralegal there is out there. They turned my case around for the best and worked with me in every way possible. They are the most genuine legal group and I’m so grateful for their services provided. My case was beyond upside down when I first hired her because I put my trust in a lawyer who kept making false promises. Courtney doesn’t do that. Highly recommend for so many reasons.

Best Lawyer around
Courtney was extremely professional from the consultation until my divorce was finalized. She guided me through the entire process, answered questions quickly and were able to finalize everything before my court date. Once court came around, she was able to ensure all paperwork was given to the judge ahead of time for review and we only needed one court date! It was such a relief. Professional Navigator through the Legal System
I hired Courtney the day I met her at her office. She handled my divorce and later on I hired her again to handle my Maintenance Modification. I went back to Courtney because I was happy with the results from my divorce and she handled my modification in the same manner, Professionally! She was always working in my favor and was always willing to answer my questions through out both cases. Besides Courtney the law office personal were outstanding, especially Wendy. I can’t begin to say enough about Courtney and her team! She takes the time to answer all questions and explain everything in terms that can be understood without a law degree, she helped to reach a very fair settlement for me. Amazing.
The only attorney you’ll ever need! She’s just amazing! I hired her in 2013 and again 2019 for child custody. Through my stressful moments, Courtney and Wendy has always been there for me.
