My lawyer was very honest and direct through the whole process. I did not feel that he was out to delay proceedings to maximize his fees as some do. He told me what I had to hear even when it was not what I wanted. He made clear requests for documentation and information so that I maintained a positive standing with the courts. I knew that he cared about me and advised in what was best for everyone even when I wanted to be petty. He was exactly what I needed to make things as easy as they could be in the most difficult phase of my life. He was very sensitive to his costs to me and punctual for all important dates and available when he was needed. He even phrased the questions before the judge in the way I wanted, to make me feel as comfortable as possible answering them without me having to request them. The "at this time" and "to the best of my knowledge" phrases went a long way in helping me cope with some very harsh lesser of two evils circumstances. I will use this representation again for any and all of my legal needs and will recommend his services to anyone in need of them.

I needed an attorney for a dissolution. Obviously a difficult time when ending my first marriage and having children. I have been nothing but disappointed from our first meeting. Granted I knew nothing at all about the process which is why I wanted a good attorney. Firstly, my consultation was NOT free. He wouldn't even begin talking to me without my credit card first. I was expecting to talk a bit to get an idea of what to expect. Not realizing the clock was running at $250/hour I should have stopped him from telling me stories about his past cases and bragging about himself. My MAIN complaint though is that when my X's attorney sent offers over Mr. Korduba would just ask me what I want to do. I explained my situation and asked him on multiple occasions to ADVISE me as to what is in my best interest. Then I can make a decision from there. After he continued to give me no input I explained that I was becoming unhappy with his lack of service so then I received a couple long, condescending letters. At this point I wanted to change attorneys but it's not easy once you are already $2000 in and a lot of time invested. I'm still receiving the last of the legal docs that I need to approve. They are so jargon heavy it is scary to just trust the attorneys did their job properly and sign away my retirement. I need a lawyer to check my lawyer's work. Pathetic. I obviously do not recommend him. He was an arrogant, cocky show off in the courtroom and I don't see why. Be he and the judge were laughing and ridiculing a person from the previous court case.

Andrew Michael Korduba’s response: “Out of approximately 200+ Divorce and Dissolution clients I assist every year, even 1 dissatisfied client is of concern. While it is impossible to respond to this person's specific concerns, all I can say that this is not our normal standard of service. I encourage any client who feels we have fallen short of their expectations to discuss them directly with me (a) so we can make good any shortcoming for the client; and (b) so we can change our internal processes to make sure such failures do not occur again. That being said, I do offer a "free initial consultation" BY PHONE. We do not require prospective clients to "come in for an appointment" and take time off work to meet with us. During that initial telephone consultation, we discuss IF we can help the client, and, HOW MUCH it will cost to hire the office to help them. This client apparently wanted "free advice" before paying for it. Second, if this client was "disappointed from our first meeting," he could have terminated legal services at any time and for any reason. Our Contract expressly states a client may terminate services at any time and for any reason. This client never once mentioned any dissatisfaction with the manner or services provided until this posting. Third, we do not "brag" or "tell stories." I am confident in my legal knowledge, analysis, and application to the facts and circumstances of each case. The "stories" I tell are EXAMPLES of other cases with the same or similar facts and circumstances, in order to EDUCATE a client about their OPTIONS and the CONSEQUENCES of those choices. The stories are meant to be an analogy for the client to help choose how they wish to proceed in their own case. Fourth, I am required to send my clients all settlement offers from the other attorney, and, ask them "what they want to do." I then provide "legal advice" about their OPTIONS and CONSEQUENCES of those decisions, taking into consideration the TIME and MONEY required to dispute and litigate disagreements over issues. The "long and condescending letters" are sent to clients to provide a specific written legal analysis of the issues and options to prevent a client from later saying, "I was never advised" or "he never told me that." Fifth, the "last of the legal documents I need to approve are so jargon heavy" comment did not include the fact that I offered this client the opportunity to call and schedule an office OR TELEPHONE appointment to discuss any questions or concerns he had before "signing away his retirement." The client chose not to call or come in to discuss his "concerns." Finally, a Dissolution is uncontested. There is nothing to be "cocky" or "arrogant" about "in the courtroom" on the day of the Final Hearing. It is a rather straight-forward legal proceeding in which the Judge approves the Petition and the marriage is legally terminated. It is a very emotional and stressful event for most parties. This client was obviously very upset that day and may have taken the conversation or comment I had with the Judge out of context. I have a very good working relationship with all the local judges from working with them over the past 16 years on a daily basis. It is unfortunate that this client was unhappy with legal services provided. But it appears that I was able to help him successfully terminate his marriage with children amicably by Dissolution Agreement, which is not always that easy to do. And there were no comments or criticisms about the the division of assets/debts, parenting issues, child or spousal support, etc. So, I can only assume the client was satisfied with the ultimate outcome of his case but was just disgruntled with the legal process. Not uncommon for someone getting a Divorce. We will take his comments under consideration and try to do better next time. Please review the other comments by many of our other satisfied clients to determine if my office is right for you and your case. Or you could always just give me a call and talk..”

I was faced with a 5th degree non-violent felony. I was a first time offender and Attorney Korduba laid it all out for me and what I needed to do. He was there every step of the way and always took my calls or returned them and always answered my emails. He told me like it was and didn't hold back, which I needed to hear at times. I was able to go into the first time offenders diversion program and I am very thankful for everything that he did.

Andrew handled my case back in August 2015, represented me in Mayors Court, and was successful in minimizing/reducing the charges. Subsequently I've served my suspension and when reapplying for my drivers license, found out that the State of Ohio had erroneous records, and that my suspension would last another two years. I contacted Andrew, and he quickly provided guidance on how to resolve the problem, which is now corrected.
The prompt service provided by Andrew is greatly appreciated!

Andrew told me he was the one and only working on my case but when in the courtroom he asked me "what do these markings on the evidence mean? " The markings were done by his staff and he didn't know it meaning he didn't prepare for my case. He also quoted me a price for trial and then asked for more money half way through trial. There were also a few rude comments made towards the other side that didn't help my case. You would also think that a lawyer would prepare you for the kinds of questions that you will most likely be asked and how to respond to them. Nope, this didn't happen for me. He also told me that all of my witnesses had to be there for every day of trial no matter what. That is very hard for normal people to do. None of the other side's witnesses were there at all in fact they were on call working their jobs or taking care of their children and could come in if needed. Mr. Korduba was paid in full up front and received a lot of money from me. At the end he seemed very aggravated and angry and convinced me to settle and give in. I didn't feel this was fair to me or my children.

Andrew Michael Korduba’s response: “I am sorry this client was unhappy with legal services provided and/or the outcome of his/her case. This is very unusual as you can see from all of our other satisfied clients over the past 16 years. My office prepares all cases for Trial in advance. We meet with clients regularly in person, by phone and via email. The client likely had an "hourly fee contract" and pre-paid for a one-day trial but the case was not finished in one day. Thus, additional fees were required for trial day #2. The client decided not to proceed with trial day #2 but settle the case instead and is now unhappy with that decision. This result is very unfortunate as we work very hard to please all of our clients and get them the very best results possible. I hope things improve for this client and his/her children in the future. Best wishes.”

Attorney Korduba knows how to fight for you. I was involved in a nasty car accident and didn't want to be taken advantage of. My first telephone conversation with Attorney Korduba provided me with information and hope for my case. His office staff is wonderful! They are all warm, friendly and down to earth. They always return phones in a timely fashion which is unheard of in other law firms. During the entire process I was treated with respect and dignity. My opinion mattered. Attorney Korduba definitely knows the law and how to apply it personally. My case was resolved and I was satisfied.
