My wife and I bought a timesare, and a few years later we discovered that several of the statments made by our salespeople that had influenced us to buy had been lies, or misleading at best. The same timeshare package that was supposed to have been worth $120,000, and we had bought at the bargain pri...ce of $70,000, could be found on several re-sale websites for between $1000 and $10,000. The timeshare company refused to buy back the timeshare for any price (contrary to the original sales pitch), saying they might consider taking it back for free after we pay off the remaining balance on the "mortgage" (further proving that their timeshare was worthless). After speaking with some online "rent/sell your timeshare" and "get out of your timeshare" companies that were clearly scams, I did some research with a friend who was an attorney to find a real lawyer who was licensed in Florida and had experience with timeshare law suits. We have purchased a timeshare contract during our vacation in Las Vegas, like many other people, without doing the proper research. After we came back home, we did our homework and realized that we have made a big mistake and tried to cancel. It was in the evening of the 5th day (last day of the coo...ling off period) and the post office was closed, so we have emailed and faxed the cancellation that night, and send it by registered mailed on the 6th day. Within a few days we have received a letter from the seller notifying us that he has rejected our cancellation because it was not done as per the Nevada law by registered mail within 5 days. We have researched several companies dealing with timeshare cancellation,. but some of the reviews were horrendous and then we found Susan.
