Do not hire this attorney

I have never written a review for anything in my life. But my experience with Ms. Mihok was a complete nightmare. There's too much to list. I was sent the wrong zoom link to a deposition that I did not know I could attend, and she then spoke to me on zoom in front of the opposing counsel while I ...did not know what was happening. She put mistakes in my initial filing and did not tell me about specific areas of the law that were fatal to my case that had she informed me I could have mitigated. Often, she would say things after the fact when nothing could be done. She missed my deposition due to being in the hospital (not blaming her for medical problems, but it was an added level of stress) in which I hired a co-counsel for assistance. When meeting with the co-counsel, Mihok missed conference calls due to "losing her glasses," and set a "reminder" for Summary Judgment that was a week past the Summary Judgment deadline. She waited till the last minute to start her response and filed it with, and I'm not kidding, 20 seconds left till the deadline. The co-counsel tried to reach her weeks prior to get on the same page, to no avail. Eventually what was submitted left tons of corrections in the margins and which the judge stated, "nearly every response is a puzzle." I would not be writing this if it was just one or two mistakes. Mihok sent records requests in which the dates were incorrect, further taking more time to get the records, and did not even start discovery for 8 months knowing that we were going up against a well-financed and ethically questionable defendant who was not going to make anything easy. This left us no time to compel for records that were withheld from us, no tell to finish depositions, and no time to hold anyone in contempt. To make things easier, at one point I typed the records request myself so that all she had to do was send it, which she also forgot to do and then cost me around $10,000 to do outside of the lawsuit as a public records request. I had some good conversations with her and liked her as a person, which is what led me to continue on with her as my attorney, but her words never followed through to action and the mistakes compounded and get progressively worse. I specifically wanted a bulldog of an attorney and what I got was the complete opposite. She had a few good moments in depositions, but even then she forgot to order or cite the good moments that she did have. This was my first time ever suing anyone and the stress that she gave me far exceeded any other stress of the case. I'm not sure I ever had a fair chance to win my case, but Mihok made it that much easier for them to steamroll me. She might be a good person if she's not your attorney, but I strongly warn to not hire this attorney.

Long litigation period, great fortitude

Ms. Mihok took on a very difficult case, fighting against a large government entity. The entire process took 4-5 years and required persistence on her part to make any sort of progress. She kept me abreast of any new information and did not waiver on her position, regardless of the size of the agency... she was battling. As a client, it made the stress bearable.

Legal nightmare

Ms. Mihok lacked the knowledge to handle my case, which involved a specific area of employment law, but failed to inform me of such. She seriously undervalued my case and scoffed at me when I tried to explain why I valued it differently from her. She refused to include the parent company of the entit...y I was suing because she stated it was not listed as the parent company, although the sale of the entity I was suing to the parent company was widely covered in the news and business media, copies of which I provided her. She refused to look into the discrepancy. She told me my case had been filed, then three months later emailed me to apologize that it had not been filed, as she had stated, but had been found on her secretary's desk, unfiled. Secondary to these and other inadequacies, I was forced to seek the advice of another attorney. She was informed of this and out of courtesy offered the opportunity to remain on the case. She refused. I had to pay my new attorney to re-write and re-file her original filings. At the time of our separation I was under the impression our account was current and paid. However, months later she presented me with a substantial bill, stating that if I did not pay it she would send my account to collections and file a lien against my case, which she did. She refused to provide me with an accounting of her bill that I could access. Terrible lawyer, terrible experience.

Rescue Team

Atttorney Mihok exceeds requirements of a Union-backed lawyer. She is definitely a team player. She keeps me informed of each case status, and respects my input at all levels of the adjudication of my cases. She has excellent tactical oral and written communication skills, and strong analytical sk...ills to devise award-winning solutions. Despite my being distressed at times because of hearings after hearings, Attorney Mihok is always encouraging me to stay positive and to maintain my professionalism at all levels of my trials.
