I represent people with problems that arise in the workplace. Discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation and failure to accommodate disabilities are all examples. Unpaid wages and failure to pay overtime are two more common issues. I practice in courts and in administrative agencies like EEOC and the Department of Labor.

Professional and knowledgeable
I hired Mr. Wenzel after being referred to him by another attorney. I was told that he was the best there was and I would not be disappointed. I have to say that all I was told was absolutely correct. He was honest, knowledgeable and professional. He handled my case with expertise and I would hire him again in a heart beat. He is truly one of a kind.

Exceptional and Experienced Employment/Labor Law Attorney
I had a personal employment/contract related issue to which I was referred to the firm of Wenzel, Fenton, Cabassa which netted a positive result. When my employer was looking for representation, I directed them to this firm and then had the great honor of working with Attorney, Steve Wenzel. Steve has been an awesome resource for our organization's employment/labor needs and has effectively defended our organization with EEOC claims. He has also been very consultive regarding modification of employment policies/practices relative to our acquiring a competitor with a different human resource mentality. I highly recommend Steve Wenzel for your employment/labor law needs.

Fantastic Attorney
I was a CEO of a healthcare organization. I led my company through a merger with a more powerful company and I received a severance offer of a year's pay. I met with Mr. Wenzel who was generous with his time and was kind to me at a difficult time in my career. As a result of our collaboration, my offer was increased. From Ana who talked to me at the beginning of my engagement with this law firm through Mr. Wenzel’s efforts, I was impressed with the professionalism and empathetic understanding that was shown to me.

Excellent Attorney
I am a local attorney in the Tampa Bay area and found myself in the unfortunate position of needing a labor and employment attorney. Mr. Wenzel's firm was recommended to me by another attorney who I hold in very high regard. I called Mr. Wenzel's office and had a telephone consultation the same day. While I cannot mention any specifics about the case, I can say that Mr. Wenzel is extremely well versed on the law, addressed all of my concerns, was very responsive when I called or emailed him, and most importantly, obtained a result that I am satisfied with. I highly recommend Mr. Wenzel and his firm.

Mr. Wenzel was extremely helpful with my case. He was both knowledgable and realistic. I highly recommend his firm for work-related issues. They speak up for the rights of employees and fiercely represent employees at all levels who have been wronged.

Applies Years of Experience to Today's Issues
I have worked with Steven for over two years. He listens carefully and asks questions to gather the facts before providing an opinion. One of his greatest strengths is his vast array of experiences which he draws from to provide sound counsel. He is reliable and decisive, yet flexible to work within the parameters of his clients' wishes and business needs. Overall, Steven is trustworthy and a great pleasure to work with. I strongly recommend him.

NOT HELPFUL
He wouldn’t take my case because of not having the gall to stand up to my specific employer, as it would be too much of a headache due to their status.
Response from Steven Wenzel April 28, 2021
My law firm has never declined a case because of the heft of the other side. Indeed, we routinely take on the largest employers in the country. We have secured a $1,250,000.00 jury verdict against the federal government, and we have successfully litigated class-action cases against corporate heavyweights like Lowes and Amazon, amongst countless others. Because this reviewer elected to remain anonymous, I cannot provide a focused response to the review. Nonetheless, we understand that it is disappointing when a law firm declines to take a case – we always provide voluminous information about how the law works to anybody contacting us. We wish you the best of luck and we are sorry that we were not able to assist you.

Incompetent and Misleading
I'm still wondering how this firm gets their high reviews. They did nothing for me. They convinced me we had a strong wrongful termination/whistleblower case. The case went quickly from a team on offense to a team on defense. I knew something was wrong when they wanted me to apply for the job I was just fired from! It was then I realized they had nothing, they folded like a cheap suit to a large corporation. It was very disappointing to say the least. They must have been hard up for the $450 consultation fee. Stay far away.

Would NOT recommend
I hired Steve Wenzel to represent me in an employment related matter. He was unprofessional in the way he communicated and was not responsive. Although he has extensive legal experience, his work ethic and desire for practicing law are long gone. He is the exact opposite of an aggressive attorney. Being a a very senior, white male he just does not understand sexual harassment or gender discrimination. He is not sympathetic or compassionate in the least either. Do not hire this attorney. I have had to hire new counsel at considerable personal expense.

I work very hard To make clients happy. Sometimes that isn't possible. Two years of effort didn't produce a result this client thought he or she was entitled to. The legal system is stacked in favor of employers but nevertheless we accomplish results for clients that render most of them happy.

LET ME DOWN
I hired this law firm to help me with a employment case they wrote a letter but failed to follow through with what they were going to do on the case. the staff had a legal asst. that almost never answered their phone and when I called. I was put on hold for long periods of time when I called one time they hung the phone up in my ear I faxed things to them but they claimed they never got the faxes I sent. they had plenty of time to work on my case but when I called about my case no one could not tell me anything they had my case seven months and nothing was done the time they had the case only about an hour or so was spent on my case they have let me down and lied to me. I have not been able to sleep because they with drew from my case simply because I wanted to ask what was the next step. I don't know about other clients they have but I have never been treated so bad.

Lost A High Profile Case for Lack of Competency , Case was Later easily won by Another Competent Firm
Hired this Firm to help me with a case, case was accepted the case without really understanding how to help me, lack of communication and true Discernment, caused me to loose time and a very high profile case, easy case with tons of documentation and proof against Corinthian Colleges. My case that was neglected and missmanaged and communication was always poor. Case was later taken by another firm of competitive attorneys, who not only won the case but were so sharp and competent that 11 branches have been closed so far, the US Government is closing many more around the United States. Came to this attorneys because I had previously used them and after analysing , came to conclussion that in the last case all the work was done by me and charged over 16.000.00 thousands of dollars for less than two hours of work in a case were only I managed the full negotiation and documentation the 16k were to prepare the settlement agreement and a couple of calls. Total Failure, after seen that this National School closed almost every school in the US I realized the type of case I lost due to the fact that, I gave this Fools a chance to demontrate expertice, with thousands of proof against the colleges they failed to even understand what the case was at all about. I hope this does not happen to you.

Response from Steven Wenzel September 22, 2015
This client brought a matter to this law firm which was resolved. It was a contingency fee contract and the firm received its fee in accordance with that contract and in keeping with the rules of the Florida Bar. While the client now expresses some dissatisfaction with those services, it is nevertheless the case that she returned to this law firm with a second legal problem involving Corinthian Colleges. She alleged that she had evidence of wrongdoing by the school and that she was entitled to whistleblowing relief. An investigation of her allegations and the school showed that her allegations were not unique and that the school was already in the process of negotiation with the federal government over the practices about which this client was complaining. Given the status of the federal investigation and our concerns on whether the school would continue in business, the firm declined the opportunity to file a lawsuit. This client was dissatisfied with our decision as is shown by this review which is factually incorrect.
