He suddenly withdrowed after 6 months from representation contact.

The reasons of Jacob’s withdrawal was not said in the termination letter whatsoever. He never told me clearly. Each time was different reasons when I asked him why several times over time. He took my case signed representation contract and quitting after reading evidence, spent 6 months preparing..., was very inconsiderate. I did not provide anything new during that 6 months. 6 months was just too much time to waste especially after he charged me $395 initial consultation fee! Also I had to do extreme amount of data entry to his web system for evidence. Took so much time to do that and did not like it. (couldn’t just turn in documents) I wish he never took the case if he is going to bail out. I feel like I had to pay for his lack of experience and quick determination in the field. Overall, not a positive customer experience whatsoever. Virginia Bar Rule 1.16 says, Declining Or Terminating Representation [2] A lawyer ordinarily must decline or withdraw from representation if the client demands that the lawyer engage in conduct that is illegal or violates the Rules of Professional Conduct or other law. The lawyer is NOT obliged to decline or withdraw simply because the client SUGGESTS such a course of conduct; a client may make such a suggestion in the hope that a lawyer will not be constrained by a professional obligation.

Costly advice financially, time spent and emotionally

I am not sure how to best express my disappointment with Jacob Small. I am also having difficulty finding a growth and learning opportunity from the whole experience working with him. The advice to pursue this route was very costly financially to my wife and I, to our time, and most importantly t...o each of us emotionally. Further, the recommendation to consider pursuing action with another attorney after reading evidence spent months worth preparing, was very inconsiderate. Overall, not a positive customer experience whatsoever. Perhaps the only thing learned was to trust my instincts and not the advice given. I have no desire to experience any part of this regreful decision ever again.

Serve readers

" Dear Reader, My goal is to serve readers and give them clear picture about my case experience with Mr. Jacob. First of all there is no word is enough to thank Mr. Jacob, I keep thanks God rest of life for handling my case by Mr. Jacob. The most hard part and the most important part is hiring a goo...d attorney. I had been suffering miserable life and unfair treatment for almost two years. My case was unusual, my litigant was the owner of two big companies and hiring very famous attorney in the United States. I would like to clear some steps and points about my experience. First step, " clarification and satisfaction " in this step Client meets Mr. Jacob for free " please prepare good for this important meeting ". After couple days of meeting, Mr. Jacob evaluates Client case and he will give his opinion either worth case or poor, but he doesn't give you guaranty if worth until builds client case. However, client should feel satisfied and his positive opinion refers to good sign about case. Second step is " building Case ", in this step client works hard with Mr. Jacob to build the case. I saw in this step Mr. Jacob goes to build strong case, he finds out and adding legal points to make case much strong. Third step is " TAKING ACTION ". In this step once Mr. Jacob takes action in case, all client's pains and hard times Significantly change in favor of client and makes other side gets shock, here up to solve case and present apologize...by the way he takes action in high behavior and strong way. Mr. Jacob changed all my life once he took action, he made me strong, confident and many many things in my life became meaningful...how a nice feeling I have when I see those who broken me and treated me unfairly became weak and small or how a nice for me to see those arrogant present their apologies and afraid. Beside all these outstanding points, Mr. Jacob is high class behavior person and excellent leader, must America proud of him. The leader is the one who makes team be strong and find out the best solution or makes the best decision at the right time. My last point about Mr. Jacob, he is excellently organized attorney, he takes care every simple details about case and he unbelievably keeps details in his mind or in his agenda. Also client will enjoy seeing his family slide pictures at his office...again my goal is to serve clients...I strongly recommend him. "

Employment & Labor

A wonderful lawyer, who took a case that going in knew it was going to be a struggle, but still took it. And got me a settlement. Always professional, and understanding. If you want a lawyer who actually cares, then hire Jacob Small.

Truth and Justice!

Early this fall I was in need of legal advice and representation for a petition to the Virginia Circuit Court to be approved to conduct wedding ceremonies. I am and Endorsed Celebrant authorized by the Humanist Society to conduct weddings, funerals, baby welcomings and coming of age ceremonies. Un...fortunately, the Clerk of Court was unfamiliar with Religious Humanism, so she deferred my application, which techinically satisfied Virginia Code 20.23. I became, due to a simple, but significant, lack of understanding, a victim of religious discrimination. This is why I sought legal help. Finding Jacob was just the help I needed and for that I remain grateful. Jacob was willing to take my case and is experienced in supporting people facing discrimination. In this, he is part of creating a more inclusive America, where we are all treated fairly and justly and in that, more humanely. Jacob was professional throughout the process as well as kind an clear spoken. I was able to understand most everything he explained to me. He was more than willing to explain something in different words when I had questions. What struck me most about Jacob, in addition to a sense that he is ethical, honest and genuinely dedicated to seeing justice served, in addition to all of that, he has a natural ability to translate complicated legal ideas into words that are understandable. Language for regular people who are not lawyers. Throughout our phone conversations and emails, Jacob was impeccably respectful, as he was kind, caring and compassionate to my situation. How fortunate I am to have Jacob Small support me through the process of navigating the legal process, which I could never have done on my own. Jacob asked me to send him copies of documents and paperwork that he felt would support my petition. He secured an affidavit from the head of the Humanist Society and conferred with David Niose from the Appignani Legal Center. But people like Jacob are changing that and making America a more inclusive, more just nation. Jacob presented my petition to a Virginia Circuit Court Judge on November 18th, 2014. The decision was deferred, pending additional information and consideration of the constitutionality of the Virginia Code that applies to marriage celebrants. Jacob assured me that he would continue to fight for my rights and so he did! Jacob dedicating himself to providing as much support material as to me seemed humanly possible, and in early January, sent copies of those support documents with more exhibits than I would have imagined possible back to the clerk. He was very thorough and I believe provided the Judge all that was possibly available to support my petition. His goal was to help help the court understand what Religious Humanism is, why as an Endorsed Celebrant of the Humanist Society who is active and committed to my organization must be treated like an minister from any faith, for our constitution does not allow for one religion to be favored over another. Jacob was successful in arguing for my rights and tomorrow morning I will go back to the Clerk and be sworn in as a marriage officiant in the Commonwealth of Virginia. How grateful I will ever be, for the legal expertise, attention to detail and kindness that combined to make this literally, the best experience with a lawyer I have ever had. And I'm not a person to use the word ever, very often, and I rarely give anyone or anything, 5 stars all across the board, for the record...

Laura's case was unique and presented me a great opportunity to tackle constitutional and statutory construction issues. Laura, like all of my clients, deserved fair treatment and a government that was open to members of all faiths or those without faith.
