Best decision made I hired John Gallagher

I searched for advice on how to present my case at an upcoming hearing and I came across John’s videos on line. John’s advice on hiring a lawyer really hit the spot for me. I visited his website and called. He got back to me within the hour. I met with John at his office and we went over the case. I... had verbally resigned from the company but then decided to retire in December 2018 via an email to my supervisors. John was very direct and honest on the likelihood of winning a case when someone quits. At the hearing John was FANTASTIC. The referee made the decision in my favor. I received the ruling by mail the very next day. My advice to anyone going to a hearing is Hire a Lawyer and if possible Hire JOHN GALLAGHER.

Knowledgeable, but poor customer service

I hired Mr. Gallagher to review a non-compete agreement. He stated that I would be charged $150 for a consultation over the phone and preparation of a letter giving his opinion on the validity of my NCA so I could keep it for my records and show potential future employers if necessary. The initial ...phone consultation was about 45 minutes and to be honest, I was quite impressed with him. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there. I reminded him twice about the letter before finally receiving one 20 days later. The letter I received had so many problems that I can never use it for it's intended purpose of showing to future employers or even for my own records of showing that I consulted a lawyer on the matter. The letter was unsigned and not on letterhead. It didn't reference the legal arguments we discussed over the phone, and instead used a completely different (and weak, in my opinion) justification for the invalidity of my NCA. It did not cite any laws or precedents; and worst of all, it referenced a completely unrelated Wikipedia article that had nothing to do with my employment. I requested a quick phone call to discuss my concerns about the letter. No response. 10 days later, I requested a phone call again. The initial retainer agreement said verbatim "unlimited follow-up telephone/e-mail communications" were included with the $150. This turned out to be false though, as Mr. Gallagher wanted to charge me $100 to talk with him again. I did get hold of him on the phone briefly (at no charge; I just called his number), and I let him know (again) my concerns about the letter not really being presentable or reflecting what we had discussed on the phone. He suggested that I send him the verbiage that I would like to have used in the letter. So I spent my own time wording this letter for him. What I came up with was less about 10 sentences. I was not asking him to write War and Peace for me! I sent it to him. Another 10 days later, I haven't heard anything. So I request he either send me the letter or send me a partial refund. It's now a month later and I've still heard nothing. I don't think he's a bad guy, I got the impression he is maybe too busy and takes on too many clients, which results in poor service.

I will say this - my fee for reviewing any non-compete almost always exceeds $150. I would provide only the most basic guidance for a fee of $150. I would never provide the full gamut of my services on a non-compete for $150. Frankly, I do not recall this gentleman off the top of my head, but I must assume that the review I offered was of an extremely limited nature. That said, I regret that the client felt that i did not honor our arrangement - all client fee proposals are in writing and are sacred to me. John

The Worst Attorney!

He signed a contract to help me with my employment matter, cashed my check, and never helped! He missed the deadlines to file an appeal with unemployment and never filed the lawsuit he stated he was filing.

I am now taking this up with Avvo corporate. I believe it is false in whole or in part. Regrettably, the person who submitted this has refused my request through Avvo to address/resolve the situation. I help hundreds of people per year; I regret whatever experience this person had, but unless he/she contacts me, I cannot address/fix it. Most people who call me are very distressed; I get that, but I believe doing something like this is wrong. I have a positive reputation within the industry, and almost all of my reviews are very good. For now, I have to live with this review....

He is the real deal

John is a professional in every respect He knows the law and he knows the human condition , the legal process, the needs of his client, and has the unique ability to foresee the rhythm and flow of a case to a logical conclusion. . Through his perceptive insight into the case, he was able to guide me ...and my law suit to a very acceptable end outcome . He was always coaching me on the various options that he felt would develop and as a result, when faced with decisions that required action , I was well prepared and able to discuss with John the best outcome for my case. John kept me apprised of all correspondence and was available to me for the often needed point of clarification and ..... reassurance. John Knows the law and can asses the various challenges that the opposition in this case might take. In a phrase, Smarter Wins is how I would describe what took place. John was simply put Smarter, and more dedicated than the defending attorney. His experience and insight into any case he accepts will provide a client with the confidence to carry on thus it is reassuring to a client who may loose perspective through the law suit and find themselves in the legal weeds that are always cropping up throughout a case. John became my partner in the suit both emotionally, and strategically as we worked through the various issues and disagreement foisted upon us by the defendant. Needless to say, we prevailed and my new motto for the imprint on the back of a dollar bill , is " In John I trust".
