2023 AVVO CLIENT'S CHOICE AWARD ATTORNEY. READ MY CLIENT REVIEWS. SPECIALIZING IN TRANSPORTATION (TSA) AND GUN LAW CASES.

My name is Scott Klippel.  I represent passengers who were found with firearms at TSA passenger security checkpoints in the civil proceedings that TSA initiates against them.  These proceedings involve the issuance by TSA of a Notice of Violation which seeks to impose a civil monetary penalty.  I am not involved in any defense regarding criminal charges which might have been filed against the passenger.

I started TSA NOV Defense shortly after I left the Transportation Security Administration in April, 2013. I was an attorney with TSA from its inception in 2002 and I was in charge of TSA’s Chief Counsel’s Office Notice of Violation Program from July, 2007 until I left TSA. During that time period, on behalf of TSA, I handled over 4,500 NOV cases through the Informal Conference process.

I graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1976. (Hook’em Horns). After law school, I spent 5 years with the Kings County (Brooklyn, NY) District Attorney’s Office; when I left, I was in the Homicide Bureau where I was responsible for trying only murder cases. I was fortunate to be able to return to Austin where I worked for the Texas Prosecutor Council and the Texas Attorney General’s Office. In 1985, I opened my private law office in Austin for the practice of criminal defense. In 2000, I moved to the Washington DC area and worked for the U.S. Department of Justice. Shortly after 9/11 and the creation of the Transportation Security Administration, I joined TSA’s Office of Chief Counsel.

When I retired from TSA, I moved to the Holy Land.  Feel free to confirm this at the Texas Bar website - .  Click on "Find a Lawyer", enter my name and you will see the Texas Bar has my office listed as in Jerusalem, Israel and that I have been licensed in Texas since 1976.

I would be most happy to provide you, without charge, with an overview of TSA’s Notice of Violation process, so that you can better understand what you or your client is facing and can make an intelligent decision on how you wish to proceed with the NOV that was issued or will be issued.

My flat fee for representing someone is $400 and is payable throught PayPal.

I look forward to talking to you.

Peace
Mr. Klippel was outstanding! He took away the anxiety and stress I had with my NOV. He took his time and answered all of my questions, which I had a lot, and never rushed me off the phone. My case was settled within 2 hours for the exact amount he told me. He made everything simple and easy in a very stressful situation. His emails are very detailed and they give you all the information he tells you on the phone. Mr. Klippel is very trustworthy and I would highly recommend hiring him, if you unfortunately get a NOV.

Hire Scott!
Mr. Klippel handled my recent TSA NOV case quickly and efficiently! He is incredibly reliable - he calls when he says he’ll call, he follows up when he says he’ll follow up, and he does exactly what he tells you he’s going to do. His involvement in this issue took all the stress of the situation off of my shoulders and he saved me hundreds of dollars! Don’t hesitate to hire him; I could not recommend his services more!

GENERAL
Discovered Scott Klippel after sifting through several other lawyer services. While I'm sure the others were good, I was initially impressed by his client feedback, very positive. Talk to Scott via email and cell phone. He told me what he could do, and he did it. A very positive and a very affable man. Give this man a shot, I think you will be very happy, I am.

I highly recommend Scott Klippel for any TSA incident
From first call, Scott removed all fear from unknown expectations, and professionally advised what was going to happen, and what my options were; including if I wanted to handle the case myself, or to have him handle it. He guaranteed what the outcome would be if he handled it, he guided me on exactly what I needed to do; it saved me money, and closed the TSA case very promptly. He also assisted with questions and other related concerns. I highly recommend Scott Klippel for any matters regarding the TSA.

Scott made an unfortunate event a very stress free experience
After a brief phone conversation with Scott, I felt confident that I found the right person to deal with my NOV. I had spoken with 3 other attorneys about it and was not impressed at all with the information, timelines or possible outcomes that they gave me. Scott on the other hand, very simply and directly laid out the exact outcome that he expected and he 100% delivered on it. I would highly recommend his services to anyone that finds themselves in a situation where you are dealing with a NOV or similar TSA situation. His response times to calls and emails were incredibly prompt and all correspondence and instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Cant say enough good things.

You should hire Scott Klippel!
I inadvertently left a pistol in my briefcase, which got caught at the Houston airport going through security. It was quite a scene at the airport and the experience, police and TSA agents left me pretty worried about the potential hassle, fine and other consequences. On the recommendation of a friend with a similar experience, I retained Scott Klippel. I spoke to him on the phone and he explained the process. He took it from there. All I had to do was pay the fine, which he got reduced substantially from the statutory amount, which he said he would do. So the process I was dreading was essentially painless, due to Scott! And he gave me some tips for always remembering to check my bags for firearms BEFORE going to the airport.

TSA airport gun violation
After my incident at the airport, I googled attorneys and TSA. Scott’s name appeared. I called and left a message. He returned my call personally within two hours and has been very helpful and responsive in getting this case closed with the minimal payment specific to my case.

Absolutely Legitimate
Scott was communicative, efficient and knowledgeable about TSA Notices of Violation. His fee is more than reasonable and will result in a reduction in fines and a very quick resolution to your TSA NOV. Would utilize his services again in a heartbeat, but rest assured I will never need to.

Mistake at IAH
I forgot left my concealed handgun in my travel bag and was stopped at IAH TSA. I was shocked no idea what to do. When the process was completed I found Scott online and he responded within hours. Very helpful, saved me money and did everything he said he would do. It was stressful and he helped. I would recommend him 100%.

Highly recommend
My husband and I hired Scott to help us with a TSA violation, and we are so glad that we did. He was able to quickly negotiate a lower fine for us when the cards were not in our favor. He was knowledgeable and very up front on what we could expect. I am an attorney myself so my expectations were somewhat high, and Scott certainly met those expectations. I highly recommend hiring him if you have any issues with TSA.
