Best DUI Defense Attorney-Please read

Background: Most people will emphasize on the saying "I was at the wrong place at the wrong time" when they are accused of driving under the influence. In my defense, that saying is the epitome of my arrest on March 19th, 2017. I was hit by a drunk driver who totaled my car after failing to yield on a left turn. Like anyone who has been arrested for a DUI, I was terrified. More about the accident, and less about the events that transpired later that night. To this day I can remember the night as if it just happened. Anyways. Back to the story. I was questioned by a police officer after being removed from my vehicle about what I had to drink that night, and well the rest was history. Failed the field sobriety test according to their standards, and blew a 0.07. Still, I was arrested and accused of driving under the influence and driving with a BAC of 0.08 and above at the time of driving. To make my situation worse, I was a newly registered nurse in school finishing my Masters of Science in Nursing. Everything to lose, nothing to gain. I was emotionally distraught and terrified when I was released. Having no experience in DUIs, or defense attorneys I began scrambling for an attorney that would defend my case. After researching the DUI defense attorneys in Socal I came across Peter Iocona, who is one of the attorneys in the SoCal Law Network group. Now, I would lie if I wrote that I was completely convinced when I talked to Peter. Not because I didn't like him. But because I had no idea what I was getting into. I wanted answers, and I wanted them fast. But the reality was that I needed to just bite the bullet and hire someone who provided me security beyond the retainer fees and contracts involved. This attorney was Peter Iocona. At the time of the incident he was present, attentive, and constantly reassured me that everything would work out. But more importantly, he provided me with a realistic outlook. Which is what I needed. Not to mention, the court that my complaint was filed to is infamous for being the absolute worst when it comes to the DUI convictions. It is always refreshing to hear to raw truth from someone because you know its more than the money. Let's fast forward here. Today is February 11th, 2019. On January 31st, 2019 my case was acquitted. It took TWO YEARS for my case to be resolved. My attorney Peter Iocona and his partners, spent TWO YEARS being persistent with bringing my charges down to at LEAST a wet and reckless because that is what my case was worth. TWO YEARS were filled with arraignments, pre-trials, and meetings with DA. TWO YEARS later and the DA still would not budge due to the lack of justice the system actually cared about. TWO YEARS later my options were to 1. accept the DUI charges (2 charges) 2. go to trial. With support from my family, friends, and Peter I took my case to trial. Those of you who end up in a trial, or are thinking about it, be prepared for the emotional ride But also know that Peter Iocona is THE best DUI defense attorney off trial and in trial. He comes well prepared to the trial, and is knowledgeable. He is careful and experienced in all the right areas. Peter is absolutely phenomenal in trial with his organized approach. One of the best criminal defense lawyers in Orange County. I was scared s***less when was confronted with a possible 2 year prison sentence but Peter walked me through the whole thing every step of the way. Always answered my messages or calls when I had a question and told me exactly what to do throughout the whole ordeal. When cops tell you to tell them everything because they "want to help you" don't believe them. When Peter tells you to tell him everything because he wants to help you, obey his every word. Needless to say the whole thing took about 6 months and the case was eventually dismissed. His services are not cheap but his expertise is what you pay for. Thankfully he was able to work with me. Second DUI Defense

When my wife and I hired Peter to defend our adult son in his second DUI case we braced ourselves for a difficult outcome, specifically more jail time. He was honest about the possibilities of that bad outcome and how important our son's behavior would be in obtaining a better result. The case took almost two years to complete because it happened in the midst of the Covid Pandemic when the courts were often dark, but our son did not go to jail. He had to wear an ankle monitor for 60 days under house arrest with an 18 month probationary period which exceeded all of our hopes. Peter knows the law, but also is highly trusted by the judges, prosecutors and probation officers because of his honesty and integrity. This played a major role in getting our son fair treatment in the justice system. More importantly, our son has been sober for over two years, is setup to return to his college studies and has a job! Thank you Peter from two grateful parents!

DUI Defense

Peter Iocona defended me in a DUI case, first offense. He was very helpful every step of the way and answered any questions I had any time I had them. 5/5 recommend every time. DUIs can be stressful with court, DMV hearings, alcohol classes, personal work problems, etc… Pete knew all the correct information and never steered me the wrong way. Very honest, which is good. You never want a lawyer to sugar coat things and Pete never did. Pete really helped me through a rough patch and made the process easy and understandable.

Experienced Attorney Who Cares and Fights for You

In late 2021, I found myself charged with misdemeanor criminal battery (242 PC) after defending my family in a dispute over a parking place. I was horrified to learn about the extremely low bar set for the definition of this crime in California, and that I found myself facing this charge for defending my family. I was completely shocked at the lack of concern shown by the police for my version of what happened during my arrest and the potential consequences if I were to be found guilty of the charge made against me. Best of the Best - Caring, Knowledgeable, Compassionate

Where do I begin after getting my 1st DUI. I felt hopeless, scared, uncertain, and afraid of what life was going to look like in the following months after getting my DUI. It was almost crippling to think about how I was going to do this. I had no clue and didn’t even know where to begin. As anyone would do I started calling around and was referred to Peter. Some good graces must have been on me that day because I had the opportunity to talk to Peter that same day. Little did I know how quickly my life would change. When I had my first call with Peter we spoke for over an hour about my situation and he was kind, compassionate, caring, genuine and I knew I could trust Peter through the process of handling my DUI. Peter "Fighter" Iocona

Best of the Best

I got a speeding ticket in Costa Mesa. Knowing I had a warrant from 6 years earlier for driving on a revoked license. Knowing it carried mandatory jail time I started seeking legal counsel. Not to mention I had not had a valid driver's license since 1995 from a DUI it now being 2019, 24 years driving without a valid license always looking in the rearview mirror. After placing some calls I contacted Peter that first phone call changed my life. Peter spent a significant amount of time on the first call with me. He told me Let's put this behind you. Take care of this and not just quick fix a problem that will reoccure. Peter and his team went to work for me. The warrant was dismissed. I went into an 18 month alcohol program completed the program. Today I am a licensed driver. Here is my point Peter genuinely cared that I didn't look over my shoulder any more I am 64 years old. Peter saved my career!

Peter Iocona and his two partners, Marlo and Alan, at The SoCal Law Network are the best team that I could have hoped for and they honestly saved my career as a doctor in the healthcare field. I was being charged with 1) driving under the influence of alcohol and 2) having a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) above 0.08% in April of 2018. I was AQUITTED on both counts/charges when Peter and I took it to trial in March of 2020 (nearly 2 years later). When it came to the DMV hearing that follows a DUI charge, Peter fought my case and the DMV concluded my driver's license was not to be suspended. In short, my BAC was 0.05-0.06%, the field sobriety tests were not perfect, and the police officers did not follow certain protocols, but Peter was always objective when pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of the case and had me ultimately make the decision to move forward to go to trial or not (this was never a clear cut win). He and his partners did everything they could to prevent going to trial, but were always ready to go to trial if needed. During trial, he was articulate in his presentation and VERY well prepared (you can see from his multitude of binders of research papers and proper protocol). He also prepared me well for what was going to happen before and during trial. It was frightening to be in this situation, but Peter knows what he is doing and is very good at it. TRUST HIS PROCESS. Having this charge against me was tremendously stressful and talking to Peter since Day 1, it felt like he understood very well what I was going through emotionally. Early on he assured me that no matter the outcome of the trial or my case, things would be okay in the end. Peter not only expertly managed my case both in and outside of the courtroom, but he was very personable. I chose to go with The SoCal Law Network because they have experience dealing with professional licensing boards. Dui with a hit and run.

On September 29, 2019 I was charged with dui with hit and and run. My neighbor had blocked half of my driveway with his car and as I backed out I scraped his bumper. I was charged with DUI and hit and run even though I Was there. I found Peter here at AVVO.com and we talked. I believed him when he said he could help me through this. I was worried beyond belief of losing my license etc... I trusted him and he and his team came through like it was my life on the line! ! He guided me on the issues, kept in constant communication and was always there when I needed to talk. It was a first time for me so I was scared, but I trusted him. I couldn’t be more happy I did. I had a very positive result with no hit and run charge, no dui charge only driving while intoxicated which was amazing considering the options. He’s a local attorney in Laguna hills and his team which includes Marlo and Alan all stood firm and not only walked me through this unfortunate incident but worked their Magic for me. I highly suggest you talk to Peter because the other 5 dui attorneys did not even answer or return my calls! You gotta trust this guy! He’s amazing and knows his way around the court system and procedures!

I want to thank Peter and his team at the SoCal Law Network. A friend recommended this firm and it was a fantastic decision. I was stopped when I when into a DUI checkpoint. I chose to do a blood test and spent the night in jail. My blood came back at .08%. I have a clean driving record and this was the first time I have ever had legal trouble. I only interviewed one firm, based on the recommendation. As a result, I received a wet reckless from the civil hearing and the DMV set aside the DUI after Peter proved to the hearing judge and expert witness that I scientifically couldn't have a blood alcohol of .08% and that it was less than the legal limit. Lesson learned, never drink and drive.
