Client used his i-phone for a GPS and instead of taking him to Fullerton, it took him to Camp Pendleton. When he got to the gate he advised the guard at the gate that he was from out of town and he go ... t lost with the GPS. Then the guard asked him how much he had to drink he replied not very much then they asked a few more questions, detained him, took his license and registration and called for the Highway Patrol. The Highway Patrol came, he admitted to driving, was given a sobriety test and ultimately arrested for DUI. After submitting to a PAS test with a result of 0.10%, the client submitted to a breath test with a result of 0.08%. After considerable negotiations, the DA agreed to dismiss the DUI charges in exchange for a plea to an alcohol related reckless driving, which the client accepted after also prevailing at the DMV hearing.
