Poor Representation & Scammed my Family

My family had entrusted Denise Yaniv to assist me in an arrest that was made in Ventura County back in 2016. My parents were desperate and needed a lawyer and went with a friends recommendation to hire Ms Yaniv. After they spent nearly $7000 in retaining her to help me, I met with her once at the c...ourt and spoke to her one time on the phone in regards to my case. She was poor at communicating any details about my case and didn't put any care, concern, time, or effort into my case. After I was sitting in county jail for 2 weeks trying to figure out what to do I had to hire and retain another lawyer who was local to help me with my case. I understand that Ms. Yaniv practiced from Santa Monica at the time and wasn't completely familiar with the Ventura County judges but if that was the case she should not have even taken my case in the first place. As a professional, she should have referred me to another lawyer with more knowledge of this area so that they could dedicate more time in fighting my case. I felt like she robbed my family at this time and all she did was provide me a copy of my discovery along with showing up to my arraignment. Her attitude towards me was disrespectful at best when I met with her briefly. Less than 2 weeks had passed since my arrest and after numerous times to contact her I was fed up and I informed her I needed to seek new counsel. She billed my parents over $11,000 just to come to my arraignment in Ventura but lowered the costs to $7,000 which was what was paid upfront. I didn't receive any legal advice from her and my family wasn't given any refund after I fired her as my counsel. I waited to write this review because now I am done with my case and off probation. I really don't appreciate lawyers who think they can prey on elderly parents and take advantage of them during situations like this. No partial refunds were offered and after I received new counsel my whole case changed for the best. My new attorney agreed that Denise was not cooperative and didn't communicate with his office in regards to working with my case. This left a really sour taste in my mouth and hope that she has changed her ways now. I don't recommend her after she made my first arrest very stressful and painful to deal with.

Great Representation-Great Result!

Ms. Yaniv recently represented me on a serious criminal matter in Los Angeles County. I found Ms. yaniv to be very professional, and always available to answer any questions and concerns that I had. She also worked aggressively to minimize the penalties that I was facing, helped me avoid the penalty ...that was of the greatest concern to me, and was able to secure a very favorable outcome in my case. I would highly recommend Ms. Yaniv to anyone in need of an outstanding Criminal Defense Attorney.

Real Fighter

Denise is a very caring, responible and hard working attorney she is a real fighter. As an expolice office she brings a resl insight into your crimnal defense most lawyers don't I would highly recommend her you won't be disappointed.

Denise Rocks...

Empathetic, patient, thoughtful, and pro-active. Denise is awesome, she provided perspective, reassurance and excellent counsel during a very stressful situation. In addition to her legal expertise, her unique background in law enforcement and psychology enabled her to find a way to resolve my case b...efore I was even formally charged! She truly cares about her clients and their rights.
