Mr. McClaren is a top-notch problem solver. He has impeccable ethical standards and a hyper-focused, personalized approach to the relationships with his clients. He absorbs his client’s problems, emotionally and spiritually, and makes those problems his own. He has boundless energy, and remains fundamentally optimistic, while also delivering pragmatic advice as necessary. Ultimately, however, if a matter must be litigated, Mr. McClaren will not rest as he pursues the desired goal of his clients.
Mr. McClaren has spent his entire legal career focusing on employment and business litigation. His practice includes representation of clients in administrative matters (such as EDD hearings, and Workers Compensation matters), as well as class action and multi-party action litigation in State and Federal Courts, both in California, New York, and the US Supreme Court.
Mr. McClaren is an accomplished and well regarded rock, ice, and high-altitude mountain climber, as well as an avid reader. Beginning in November 2017, he began an effort to ascend the highest mountain on every continent (known as the 7 Summits, including Mount Everest, Mount Denali, and Antarctica’s Vinson Massif), and completed the endeavor, with minimal to no support, in 2 years and 10 days.
Mr. McClaren has traveled to close to 30 countries. His upbringing saw him relocate to military posts throughout the world, where he stopped to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Eastern New Mexico University in May of 2000, and thereafter his Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in May of 2003.
He prides himself on being able to empathize with his clients, and on his ability to be both an advocate and counselor through the crisis of a legal challenge.

I own businesses in a high liability industry and have had to deal with dozens of attorneys over the last 10 years or so and equally as many lawsuits. Benefit of hindsight
Having the benefit of hindsight I now don't think Mr McClaren was worth the money. The result of my case was not good and I don't think he had much influence as he could have had if he put more effort into the case. In the end I am certain that more could have been done to save my job but he was not ...
Jeremy- As a general principle, an at-will employment relationship can be terminated for legitimate business reasons, and if an employee is alleging a violation of his or her protected status, an employer will not generally keep a disgruntled employee present, and instead, in the best case scenario, negotiate a severance agreement. Further, if an employee were subject to a collective bargaining agreement, or was a public servant, and he or she had continued performance deficiencies and a record of progressive discipline, the likelihood of terminating the employment increases in favor of the public employer. The remedy in such situations would be to contest the termination in a public service hearing. It is unfortunate your termination was upheld, but the remedy would have been litigation to protect your rights or recover damages for wrongful termination. As you point out, I was only retained in a very limited capacity. I wish you well in your future endeavors.

Anthony is a highly skilled litigator who impressed both me and the international client with his command of both the facts and legal issues, as well as his ability to communicate with the international client in a clear and understandable manner.
