I usually don’t do many reviews and I most certainly don’t get to deal a lot with lawyers. Coming from a foreign country, I heard a lot about American lawyer and I guess you never really know until after you experience it.
Chris had great review and was recommended to me by a good friend. I have no doubt he is a good lawyer. I was just impressively disappointed by the way he handled my case. I have no prior with the law and I never got in trouble. However, when I called Chris, he listened to me over to phone and to what had happened on the day of the event leading to my arrest. He asked me to go to his office and sign paper work with his legal assistant. I did and I also told him that I will be travelling. He said it was ok. Coming back to the country, he sent me to the DMV hearing with a different lawyer he had hired and was not even in town to follow the event of the case. I was hoping that he would get a good handle of the case at that first hearing. We had to reschedule the court hearing a couple of time and the first time I ever meet the lawyer I paid such a huge amount of money for was right before the motion hearing. He talked to me 5 minute before and 5 minute after. Every single time, he would say send me an email, I will be travelling. The only time I got to talk to him was right before and after court and our conversation weren’t even in a private room. How can he expect me to talk to him if I have no privacy? I never got to have a sit down meeting with him during the entire time he was my lawyer. I just think that was extremely unprofessional to take my money and not to give me a simple sit down in order to hear my story out. After finally running out of money as a student (I was using my student loan to pay him). I decided to go with a public defender (PD) which off course I qualified for although he had told me that he didn’t think I would qualified for it. The PD was very kind. She had in 3 sit down meeting with me (1 hour each) in the short time she was my lawyer and moreover, she was able to get me a better deal than Chris was ever able to negotiate.
I would say here that failed to do the following:
- Follow my case closely
- Prepared for the case before motion hearing
- Having a sit down with the client
- Lying to the hearing committee about having that sit down
I am very bitter as I write this letter. I hope he didn’t judge me based on my accent. I had an appeal that didn’t work still I am not happy with his performance. Not at all !!!!

My experience with Mr. Cessna made a difficult time much smoother. He was always available to answer my barrage of questions. It was very clear his years of experience makes him one of the best criminal defense lawyers in the Denver metro. I would recommend Mr. Cessna to anyone that wants an involved lawyer that is always available to answer questions. As for the reviews that claim Mr. Cessna is not responsive are simply not true. Within hours of calling, we had many of questions answered and it relieved a lot of worry.

DO NOT Give this man any of your money.
I hired him to fight for my case but i soon found out that he was only interested in more money and not helping me at all,so i fired him.
He held back information from the prosecution, failed to read new evidence presented to him and turned up for work with short trousers and a old T Shirt on.
That's was if he could squeeze me in between looking after his children and seeing builders into his house.
He was Late, postponed meetings and generally acted in a very unprofessional manner.
Listen to me very carefully....do not hire this joke of a lawyer.

I employed Mr. Cessna for my case and I found him to be mostly unresponsive and very diffiult to get a hold of. I actually attended a hearing which Chris couldnt attend because he had traveled out of town, he informed the court but his office failed to inform me and I showed up to the hearing! I found myself very concerned with my representation during what was a very scary time in my life and after paying the very expensive legal fees, I felt helpless.
I was told to contact the Cessna office after my probation so he could make amendments to my arrest record. To date, I have contacted his office his office now 3 plus times and still have heard nothing back in regards to these amendments.

"What a client deserves in exchange for the cost of good representation is a trial attorney whose reputation spans decades and across hundreds of miles of distance. In my experience Chris Cessna's presence in two separate cases, taking place in two counties, in different areas and cultures here in Colorado, was the difference between inevitable jail time and an end result of wiping my record clean. There is no better service of instilling confidence for a defendant than when a judge and team of district attorneys knows your lawyers name and scope of expertise before you ever step foot in the courtroom. On the day of my motions hearing, I watched two respected, competent, and very self-assured police officers all but crumble under the pressure of Chris' line of questioning and defense strategy. The district attorney’s only witnesses’ testimonies were reduced to stuttering and stammering incompetence on the stand in the wake of Chris' calculated uncovering of their lack of DUI law knowledge and their unethical practices in the field. The judge suppressed all relevant evidence gathered by these officers. Subsequently, the D.A.'s office was left with no choice but to volunteer an unconventional and highly desirable offer. Without Chris, the testimony would have been admitted as evidence and seen at trial as my word against that of two well-established officers of the law. As a young professional, this win weighs heavily for my ability to move forward with my life, career, and goals. For this reason I will always be indebted to Chris for his hard work. “

Chris is one of kind attorney that will honestly tell you what he believes hew can do for you. He handled my case and did exactly what he thought he could do for me. In my case that happened to be win, and keep my record clean so that I'd have a 2nd chance to learn from my mistake. Chris is an honest man that will listen, and teach his clients through the process. I'm indebted to him for life.

Let's just say I had a double case of incredible doubt that my case would ever win! But when I came to Chris, I just let my previous lawyer go, and I told him I know my case looks like I would have no fighting chance, but with all odds against me - I told him I wanted to fight, and he fought for me. I ended up winning my trial by jury case and my second case without having to go to court. I would highly recommend Chris. He kept me positive, and helped me fight my case. Outstanding lawyer and individual.

Chris and his team took the time to review all of my case and gave options. All others I talked to just wanted the $1000 and plead me out. Chris and his team weren't cheap, as per the adage "you get what you pay for". I am VERY happy in my resolution of my case. I would recommend Chris and team to anyone with a "questionable" stop/ticket.
