Biography
My name is Shazam Kianpour, and my passion is Criminal Defense. I served 4 years as a Government attorney in the public sector defending criminal cases.
Most of my jury trials have been felonies. I specialize in Sex Crimes and Violent Crimes however I have a senior staff of attorneys at Shazam Kianpour & Associates who specialize in DUI and Traffic law and another who specialize in Family and Domestic Violence and Economic and White Collar Crimes.
I have experience in Federal Court, especially in Sex Crimes, possession and Distribustion of Child Pornography, and Child Sex Crimes. I have taken cases from simple DUI and speeding tickets all the way up to Homicide cases to trial and been first and second chair in them to many varying degrees.
While I see litigation as a sometimes necessary component of law, I believe the adverserial process is overplayed. What is best for the case is really a matter of what is best for your client, your clients future and your clients family. I am not smarter than my clients, I am merely experienced in a field that they are not. I have had clients tell me they feel like I spent a lot of time educating them as to the law so instead of me telling them what to do, it was a joint process and venture that left them feeling like the decision of how their life played out was their own. My job is to protect you, my job is to secondarily defend you. These are two different aspects of law and often some lawyers get so bent on defending their client, they forget that protecting them comes first.
