Forceful, energetic, and persistent, not a “former prosecutor” or Judge, Christopher Decker is a “dyed–in-the-wool” criminal defense attorney. Since entering the practice of law Mr. Decker’s commitment to defending the criminally accused has been exclusive and comprehensive. For nearly twenty years, and all over the State of Colorado, he has handled all aspects of criminal law representation. From pre-file investigation, to negotiated settlement, to jury verdict, to appeals, to expert testimony, to media relations, he has successfully handled all facets of criminal law. Mr. Decker has worked successfully many times during the “pre-filing investigation stage” to avoid the filing of criminal charges for clients. Through his persistent efforts, he has had cases dismissed, or dropped, at virtually all stages of criminal proceedings. In countless cases, has obtained extremely favorable offers of settlement, and where appropriate, his clients have benefitted from his assertive negotiation skills. In those situations which require a Jury Trial, Mr. Decker is experienced and well-armed to defend his clients. With over one hundred and twenty five jury trials tried to verdict, and tens of thousands of cases handled, his experience is broad and his techniques highly skilled. Trial tested and result oriented criminal defense is the result of hard work and forceful determination over a long period of time.
Mr. Decker has written several successful criminal appeals for clients. His appellate work has twice been published. First, in People v. Lewis, 975 P.2d 160 (Colo. 1999); and again in People v. Borland Robertson, 56 P.3d 121 (Colo. App. 2002).
Mr. Decker has been qualified as an expert in the area of criminal law defense by several Colorado District Court Judges for purposes of post-conviction litigation.
Mr. Decker has taught trial practice classes to his attorney peers, lectured on Sexual Assault defense techniques, and conducted continuing legal education seminars for attorneys in Colorado. He is also a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College in Macon Georgia, which is taught and attended by America’s top defense lawyers. The specialized training he received at the NCDC Trial Practice Institute included exposure to the most advanced techniques of witness examinations, trial strategy and methods of persuasion. Mr. Decker has tried to verdict over one-hundred-twenty-five cases and successfully settled thousands more.

don’t hire this one
Hired in 2020 with a steep retainer to get my case to trial. Decker didn’t even get to file motions and raised his already high price by 3x, did absolutely nothing for me and took my money.
