William attended Mississippi College in Jackson, MS, on a scholarship for his first year of law school. While attending Mississippi College he received the highest overall grade in his Torts class. Following the first year of law school, William transferred back to ASU to complete his law degree.

When William is not spending time with his wife and children, he enjoys reading about contemporary military history, Napoleonic-era naval history, and horology (timepieces and watches).
