Mr. Barone began his legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Richard D. Kuhn in Oakland County Circuit Court, where he refined his trial skills under the guidance of Michigan’s top trial attorneys. In 1992, he launched his own practice, dedicating himself to criminal law, and in 2003, he established the Barone Defense Firm, with offices in Birmingham and Grand Rapids. Over his career, Mr. Barone has defended thousands of clients in Michigan’s adult and juvenile courts.

His contributions to West/Aspator Books and numerous national legal journals make him a prolific contributor to the field of criminal law.
His achievements have been widely recognized with numerous prestigious awards. He holds the highest "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, has been honored in US News & World Report's America’s Best Lawyers since 2009, and is included in America’s Best Law Firms.
