I needed to find a lawyer and I had consulted a few but everyone stated that I was looking at jail time for my 91/55 reckless charge . A family member told me to check out Mr.McGlone and I did which turned out to be the best result which I could hope for. Mr.McGlone reviewed my case and went over what my outcomes maybe and informed me of what I needed to do. I was just sweating for what may happen once I reached the courthouse . I had a reckless driving (speeding) ticket on the Dulles Toll Road doing an 83/55. Of all the quotes, conversations and a thorough research, I decided to go with Paul as my lawyer. An experienced, knowledgeable and thorough professional to say the least. He first understood my case details and then explained clearly how should we go about it. Paul and his staff (David and others) were very responsive throughout the case communications. At the court, Paul represented my case very well and got down the reckless charge to a speeding ticket of 80/55. I was happy with the result knowing how the traffic law enforcement system operates in VA and the possible consequences of having a reckless charge which is a criminal offense and a class 1 misdemeanor on my record. Please note that just hiring a good lawyer like Paul is not enough and you have to do your bit to support your case (like taking the 8 hour DIP - to add +5 safe driving points to record, take the 4 hr Reckless/Aggressive defensive driving class, get your speedometer calibrated, and do some community service before the court date), always be upfront and honest with your lawyer, and follow what he says. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend Paul and team to handle reckless speeding ticket cases, I found them the best at service and the price offered based on an extensive research. I hope this saves you some research time and clears some air around the reckless charge. Drive safely and within speed limits, a cop is always round the corner and it's really not worth it.

My son was charged with reckless driving after getting into a two-car accident where he was the at-fault driver. The police wrote a reckless driving ticket ("general reckless"); we recently moved to Virginia and my reading of the Virginia reckless driving laws indicated that the police have also unlimited discretion to charge reckless driving for any at-fault accident. Mr. McGlone advised that there was a reasonable chance of getting the case dismissed or getting the charges reduced. He was 100% correct. Even though the state showed up to court with their witness, Mr. McGlone negotiated the charge down to improper driving, which is a 3 point traffic violation rather than a 6 point criminal misdemeanor. I can't thank Mr. McGlone enough for his good advice and for the favorable outcome. I would advise anyone who finds themselves in the unfortunate situation of being charged with a criminal misdemeanor to speak with Mr. McGlone about their case.

After being charged with DWI, and in a situation where my chances didn't look particularly good, I went to Mr. McGlone for representation. He was consistently honest, patient, and reasonably and realistically reassuring. I was sure that I would have to give up my license for a year, but Mr. McGlone's deep and thorough knowledge of DWI and traffic law in Virginia and his confident, brilliant performance in the courtroom convinced the judge to dismiss my case. Beyond his performance in court, Mr. McGlone's decency and desire to represent and protect his client were obvious and in stark contrast to the sort of attorney interested primarily in collecting fees. First off, let me say that I selected Paul to represent my son based on AVVO ratings and a personal consult. My teenage son got a VERY high speed reckless driving charge on the Dulles toll road. Even though he professed his innocence, I knew it would be difficult to convince the court. Every other lawyer (3-4??) I spoke with said that jail time would be inevitable. Most Fairfax judges use a rule of thumb of "one day for every MPH above 90." In fact, the first prosecution offer was precisely that. Fast forward, after two continuances, at Mr. McGlone's request, we went to trial. Mr. McGlone's preparation was second to none. He did extensive research on the legality of the traffic stop, and without going into detail, got the judge to see the argument from his perspective. At that point, he was able to strike a deal with the prosecutor that avoided any jail time or license suspension. The result was a plea to the reckless violation, a suspended sentence, and a fine. In my opinion, the result could not have been any better. Mr. McGlone clearly did a lot of research on the case, and was much more prepared than the prosecutor appeared to be. I am convinced that is what led to the positive outcome. I would wholeheartedly recommend Mr. McGlone 100 times over.

Impressive Results / Always Responsive / Thorough / Works on Holiday -- --- Normally I never write reviews, but Mr. McGlone has been stellar and worth the effort. In short, after assessing 12 other firms to handle the case, I chose Mr. Paul McGlone. I reached out and he responded with 15 minutes to my call at 5pm on a Friday. We spoke for 45 minutes to assess my complicated case involving two state jurisdictions' DMVs. That Monday - JULY 4 (a holiday) he was in the office working on my case. And by Wednesday we were in court and he had reached out to his contacts at VA DMV and got the result I needed by Friday. And there have been follow-on items related to this matter that he still doggedly tracks and pursues-- he is always available by phone, text, email, and in the office. Summary: I highly recommend Mr. McGlone for DUI representation. His fees are roughly average for the field, but his experience, ability, and aggressiveness (in terms of reducing charges as much as possible) probably place him in the top 5% in terms of quality of representation. I'm inexperienced to the process, but that's my best assessment. Also, his office staff were always pleasant to deal with and did their jobs very well. In more detail: I was picked up and charged with a DUI shortly before New Year's Eve in Fairfax. I blew a 0.15 back at the station, which was just enough to put me in the 2nd tier of BAC and facing a week in jail and numerous other penalties for a first time offense. I called Mr. McGlone to explain my situation and was impressed at how clearly he explained my options. I was also impressed that he was willing to meet with me on New Year's Day for a free consultation (I was leaving town the day after) while most other lawyers I called were unavailable/on vacation. After I called him, Mr. McGlone's office sent me a long list of questions about the night I was charged to fill out before we met in person. This was important, as details can make all the difference in court and it's easy to forget them if you don't write everything down as soon as possible. Even though I only managed to send him my answers that morning, he'd read them by the time we met in the afternoon. I hired him immediately after that consultation, as my internet research and conversations with him and a few other attorneys had already led me to believe he would be my best option and I wanted him to start working on my case as soon as possible. I should point out here that lawyers are expensive, but not having a lawyer can be much more costly in the long run. If you can afford a private attorney like Mr. McGlone, you have the best chance possible to get charges reduced or dropped. If you cannot afford a private attorney, ask for free court-appointed representation (though the quality of representation will be lower). If you represent yourself, you will likely face the maximum possible penalties (particularly in Fairfax County) no matter how well you think you can argue. For something as serious as a DUI that could involve losing your license and going to jail, you should always have a lawyer. Once I hired him, Mr. McGlone’s office handled all of my dealings with the court (including getting a different trial date, since I’d be out of town for the initial date) and mailed me all the information they gathered regarding my case. They subpoenaed everything they could, and eventually found that I had blown a slightly lower BAC on a portable breathalyzer right when I was stopped. This (and Mr. McGlone’s reputation for defending DUIs, which I believe the prosecutor took into account) was enough to get a plea offer of 0.14 BAC, a lower category of DUI that did not require jail. I should point out here that realistic expectations are important. I believe the case against me was very strong; a properly-conducted breath test resulting in 0.15 would normally be all that’s needed to convict regardless of how persuasive a lawyer is. If there had been any extenuating circumstances (like problems with the way the police conducted their test), I have no doubt that Mr. McGlone would have been able to get even greater reduction in charges or outright acquittal. But you never know what's going to turn up upon closer investigation, and as it is I'm just grateful to Mr. McGlone that I managed to get a reduced charge and avoid jail.

I was charged with DUI & Possession of marijuana at a DUI checkpoint in Fairfax County on Oct. 20, 2012. I make no excuses for driving under the influence, I did have a problem with the way I was treated as a heavily tattooed man from NC. I really felt profiled by the arresting officer whose name I won't mention. The prosecution let it be know that I was going to be made an example of. In my case, the magistrate did not even make me bond out which I imagine is rare for someone who lives out of state. I did a couple of weeks of research before I hired Mr. McGlone.
