Hire him if you want a savvy lawyer who is willing to fight to the end for you. Someone who is up front and works hard to get you the best outcome possible. Jon made a horrible process easier to handle. I came to him with a DWI charge and he instantly made me feel like he was ready to fight for me. He is not only concerned with winning your case, he genuinely cares about you. In the beginning he went to court and got me off probation for the time period before my trial. When it looked like all hope was lost he negotiated a plea deal which kept me from serving jail time. He fought for me all the way. Arlington county is one of the toughest counties for DUI/DWI cases and somehow he managed a plea deal. He is great at what he does and I highly recommend him. If you need someone to be by your side from day one and to fight for you he is your guy. He won't make promises he can't keep. The one promise he will make is that he is here for you. My family and I were devastated when I made the mistake of getting a DWI but upon meeting him he eased our fears and the day in court we all were able to breathe a sigh of relief thanks to him. He is a great guy and an even better lawyer. Do yourself a favor and hire him!

Just bloody hire him! Stop your research as I have done it for you. Not only did I do research, but experienced it first hand.
When I spoke with him he was realistic. Did not promise anything other then he will fight for me till the very end. He did, and did it with dismissal of my m.d. charge. BTW, my case resulting in dismissal was not only improbable but possibility of it happening was in .001% range. Yet he figured it out.
Do not give up! Appeal if you lost the first round, and stick with Jon! Remember, as Jon says, you have two bits of the apple!
Japanese proverb says:
Strategy without plan is a daydream.
Plan without strategy is a nightmare.
Jon comes up with both strategy and plan how to execute it. Simply unbelievable!
I think there has to be a third class besides Samurai and Ronin. I would like to call it JON: One that can do what neither Samurai nor Ronin can.
Just hire him!

Jon katz is not only a master of his craft but genuinely an amazing person. While representing me, Jon consistently provided me with exellent advice/homework regarding my marijuana distribution charge. After two preliminary hearings my case had finally ended in a disposition of nolle prosequi. In a nutshell it was a maricle. I am forever thankful for Jon katz services and I wish him and his staff the best regarding thier future endeavors. Overall if you are ever in any legal trouble I highly recommend Jon Katz.

I had the unfortunate mishap of getting (wrongly) charged with DUI and refusal in Arlington County. I've never been in this kind of trouble - so after all the reviews I read on Avvo, I gave Jon a shot. He may cost more than other lawyers, but you can't mess around with Johnny Law, and it turns out he was worth it! Jon will prepare you and prepare himself to take on the case as best as possible. In my case because of this preparation, the charge was amended to reckless and the refusal thrown out. Don't let the judicial system trample you - Jon will be your defense warrior.

Do not hire Jon Katz unless you want a lawyer who is prepared to fight for you to the very end and to always look for ways to weaken the prosecutor's case and strengthen your own. Jon and i have consulted on many cases and I have always been impressed with his "warrior" mentality, which is exactly what you need when you are charged with a crime. Highly recommend.

I was fortunate enough to be Jon's law partner for ten years. During that time, I saw Jon's tenaciousness, legal mastery, and love of justice time and time again. It was his very special combination of doggedness, legal expertise, and commitment to his clients that I have always admired in Jon, and that invariably won the day. He is forthright, honest, and fully embraces his clients in their moment of greatest need. We - lawyers and laypeople alike - can learn so much from Jon's personal and professional commitment to fight for justice and the Constitution. If you are considering retaining an attorney for a criminal or DUI/DWI matter, look no further. You've found the best.
