I am fortunate to have had a rigorous legal education and varied legal career that form an excellent foundation from which I practice. I represent my clients the way I would want to be represented and do my best to communcate promptly, well and often so each step of the process is understood. I pride myself on doing my very best for my clients and getting them through the legal process efficiently and as painlessly as possible. In addition to being an attorney, I am also a mother to my 14 year old boy and 12 year old girl. My husband and I have been married for 19 years, and live in Washington Township, close to my law office. I love to read, run and hike with my 3 dogs,all sweet rescues (a massive St. Bernard, a Pug/Terrier mix and a Shepherd mix). We also have 2 cats so our house is at its capacity, as I often remind my children. I really enjoy getting to know my clients and helping them achieve their legal objectives the best way possible, both financially and emotionally.

Compassionate, caring and supportive

Helen was my attorney during my divorce. She listened to my concerns and fought for everything I needed in order to keep my house and raise my two children. She was exceptional and went above and beyond what I thought an attorney would need to do. She was always available to answer questions and guided me through the process of regaining my independence. Very helpful in my dissolution

Helen was very understanding and helpful as I moved through the dissolution process. I had some specific requests in terms of child custody, and she was willing to work for those accommodations. Her insight into what the court would likely accept and what they would question was very valuable. She also presented my case strongly in front of the magistrate, which definitely saved my case for my specific custody requests. Thank you, Helen!

Child Custody

Being a father I was looking for an attorney would would see what is best for my daughter and fight for her. I interviewed several before I met with Helen and within the first few minutes I knew that I had found the right person for my case. I was well informed throughout my case and given decent timelines. Helen also helped me understand the process while it was going on and kept me calm during the "slow" portions. I have no doubt that she grew tired of my emails but she never failed to respond. Helen and her staff performed well beyond my expectations with professionalism and empathy. I have already referred others to Helen and she has performed for them as well as she did for me. The best compliment I could ever give her our my referrals, and there have been many. I'm very thankful for finding her on AVVO. Her rating was the reason I made an appointment. Very professional and reliable

Helen Wallace was in my corner from the very beginning. I had a very long road to travel down and she was with me the entire way. Custody battles can be messy and drag on for so long. Helen advised me of all of my options and was prepared to follow me down whichever path I chose. With my case finally resolved I cannot thank Helen enough for all of her hard work and caring. Caring, Compassionate, and Professional

Divorce is complicated -- add in the court system and you have a recipe for disaster. That is, unless you have the proper guidance. That's exactly what I received from Ms. Wallace. Words cannot convey how grateful I am for the service she provided. It made the darkness of a rather unfortunate situation much more navigable. Every step of the way I was informed and up-to-date as to where we were at in the process. Questions were always answered in a timely fashion. Having contacted several other law offices, I felt quite uneasy about the road ahead. After the initial consultation with Ms. Wallace, my mind was at ease and I knew I had found my attorney.

Kind, caring, and compassionate

Helen was more than I expected from an attorney. She is very caring, compassionate, and personable, which is not something I have experienced from attorneys in the past. She went above and beyond the call of duty on several occasions and helped my spouse and I reach agreements that did not look possible. When things were looking grim, she always came through and, in the end, I was as happy as possible with the results. Divorce is never ideal, but I do feel that the best possible results were attained because I had Helen on my side. I highly recommend her.

I made the right choice!

Helen was great from the start and worked with me to make sure the end result was what I wanted and best for my child. Being the father in a custody case you want to make sure you have a great attorney on your side and she is definitely that. I wouldn't even think to look around if I need anything in the future.

Great under the most adverse of situations

Representing for early termination of spousal suppport

My case involved trying to get my ex-wife to settle on an early termination or reduction of spousal support. The amount I agreed to over four years ago was a higher percentage of my income than what is usually expected and I have had family changes that made continuing to pay the amount quite burdensome. Also, I was moving out of state and I needed her to represent me in absence. She researched the case and felt that I had a better chance with asking for a lump sum payoff to end the support than reducing the amount. Helen tried several options to get my ex and her attorney to agree to an amount but was rebuked each time. This took several months and two hearings. This was much longer than I thought it should take. Helen was patient with my complaints about the amount of time it was taking and my concern that my ex was not going to take an offer. I was prepared to withdraw the motion but Helen asked for a little more time. She was correct in being a little more patient as, Inexplicably, my ex decided to agree to an offer that was essentially what I had offered at the beginning of the process (though she now managed to get an additional 6 months spousal support for me in that time). I felt that Helen represented me well and had a fair wage for the work. There were a few occasions where I wanted to hear back from her sooner than when she responded to my emails but that could also be due to my anxiousness of wanting the case to be over.

I'm so glad she was on my side!

Ms. Helen Wallace treated me with the utmost respect and sincerity from the moment we first met. She handled my case expeditiously and remained in close contact by phone and email as needed. No detail was overlooked. She was very persistent in making sure everything was right, regardless of how many times it had to be returned to the opposing lawyer for corrections. She took the time to understand my personality and always spoke to me in a manner that I could easily understand and helped me to appreciate the decisions that were being made.
