I have been practicing law for nearly twenty years, most of which in Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades Counties, Florida. We focus our practice to State and Federal Criminal Defense, Marital and Family Law, Juvenile Delinquency and Dependency and Termination of Parental Rights cases and Mediation and Arbitration.
With extensive trial experience I spent several years as a prosecutor before returning to private practice in 2008. I was a misdemeanor (Domestic Violence, DUI, Theft, etc.), Juvenile, and Felony (Bulglary, Robbery, Aggravated Battery, Felony Battery, DUI, etc.) prosecutor for over three years.
We have been Honored to be featured by Florida SuperLawyers Magazine for nine years in a row (2013-2023 inclusive). I am a Florida Supreme Court certified Circuit Civil, Family Law, Appellate and County Court Mediator as well as being approved as a mediator for the United States District Courtfor the Middle District of Florida. I am also a qualified Arbitrator.
I am a member of the Lee and Collier County Bar Associations as well as the Michael R.N. McDonald Amerincan Inns of Court and a qualified arbitrator. I have also been appointed as a Mediator for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
I am licensed to practice in Florida, Colorado and the District of Columbia. We are also are licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the Supreme of the United States.
I received my Bachealor of Science in Journalism from West Virginia University's Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism in 2000 and my Juris Doctor from the University of Denver College of Law in 2002.
In 2018 I was a candidate for Circuit Court Judge in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit.
In my spare time I am a PADI Course Director, Tec Trimix Instructor Trainer, Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer, and DIsabled Divers International Instructor at Scuba Outfitters of Naples. I also sit on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Suncoast (Collier County), and the National Speleological Society- Cave Diving Section.
