I caught a speeding ticket on the interstate in Wythe County while traveling from Pennsylvania to South Carolina. Realizing the value of my "safe driver" auto insurance rate, I retained Joel Jackson to see if he could somehow get the charge reduced to a "non-moving" violation of some sort. He made no... promises, but when the trial date arrived, he was successful. I still had to pay a hefty fine to the county court for my "transgressions", but was able to keep a clean driving record. I was charged reckless driving with speed 85/65 on I-81 from Christianburg to Roanoke, VA. I hired Mr. Jackson for my attorney. He is very professional. He gave me three instructions: 1, speedometer calibration 2, 8-hour driving class 3, 5-year driving record. I followed these instructions. My spee...dometer calibration test results are that when the dashboard reads 70 mph, the actual speed is 74 mph. My driving record is clean. Our son was driving home from college due to an evacuation during hurricane Irma in September, 2017, when he was stopped in Virginia for speeding. Reckless driving. The hard part here for me was it was my daughter. And, she didn't tell me about the ticket (21mph over the limit) for two weeks after getting it. I went to visit my kid in College in beautiful NC. We decided to take a ride to Washington DC in her Jeep. No being familiar with the speed postings or the Highways in this part of the country adding to it the fact that we are from LA and we are always in a hurry, I got a speeding ticket.
