I had a single truck accident in Wytheville, VA with a loaded trailer as I was moving from Ohio to South Carolina. The VA local Sherriff's deputy charged me with Reckless Driving. The Joel Stephen Jackson law firm charged me $400 to represent me in court, so that I did not have to drive back to V...A for my court date. The law firm recommended that I take an in-class Defensive Driving Course for $100, which I did. So, on my court date, the firm met with the prosecutor and got the Reckless Driving charge dropped, when they showed the prosecutor proof of my Defensive Driving Course. I, ultimately, had to pay $71 in court costs; so my total out of pocket cost was $571. I, ultimately, feel that $400 was more than I thought it should cost for four (4) hours or less of work that the Joel Stephen Jackson law firm had to put in, but the cost is still reasonable. I did price out two (2) other law firms and they were more expensive than the Joel Stephen Jackson law firm. Plus, the Joel Stephen Jackson law firm was able to make it so that I did not have to take time off work and drive back to VA. As a result, overall I am very happy with the service, if not the total cost; which is why I give this law firm 4 out of 5 stars.

Had a situation arise where another lawyer in the Blacksburg, VA area did NOT handle my case as I had originally hired them to do. My license got suspended and had ZERO communication with this other lawyer. At my rope's end, I reached out to Mr. Jackson's office and within 48 hours the case was han...dled and closed. Hope I never have to hire another lawyer in Blacksburg, VA again ... but if I do ... I have Mr. Jackson's office saved in my contacts ... as should you!

I was driving down I-77 thru VA, headed to NC for the week. A sheriff pulled me over for speeding as I was coming down a large hill. I haven't had a speeding ticket in over 20 years. Joel and his staff were able to get my speeding ticket reduced to a lesser charge with no points. A very reasonabl...e fee to represent me in court - saved me money in added insurance charges in the years to come.

He did such a great job. The first time my hearing was set the person before me was going 1 mile more than me and was fined $1900. He decided to push my court date so he could have a more favorable outcome. He got my reckless driving of 98 to to an impromper driving and i was able to keep my license....
